Nice to hear I’m not the only one who can’t pack with just a carry on bag. I usually have a check in bag and use a backpack for on the plane. Thanks for are your videos.

I use the 5-4-3-2-1 formula: five tops (different sleeve lengths, colours, etc including a vest) four bottoms (pants, skort, skirt, shorts), three dresses, two pairs of shoes, one two piece bathing suit. Usually each category goes in its own packing cube. With these, plus what I’m wearing, I’m good for 10 days to two weeks-longer if there’s laundry facilities. Of course I include pjs and under garments which are not in the formula😊. I wear my bulkiest items which I can mix and match with what I’ve packed, and usually use some type of wrap. I’ve used my wrap as a blanket, beach cover up, head covering, shawl, etc. you can even get creative and tie it as a skirt or top. I also keep my liquids bag ready to go and replenish when I get home. I try to find solids like shampoo bars and solid toothpaste, etc to reduce liquids. Also, I find that if I throw in a couple of scarves, which take up so little space, I don’t look like I’m repeating outfits when I post pictures. I always travel with a carry on and a personal item, and I have rarely had to check my carry on. I learned to do this after losing my luggage on a trip to Maui. I’ve learned all this from both experience as well as watching videos like yours 😁

Great content ! Packing is my worst nightmare because I want to take so many things. Decanting my beauty products is a challenge. Limiting my shoes is a challenge. It’s particularly tricky when your destination (s) are not the same temperature. That list you shared is a good one! Thanks Beth!

These are some wonderful tips Beth! I’ve used packing cubes for years but haven’t tried compression cubes yet. I think they would be perfect for bulky coats. Love taking my Vivaia shoes on trips.

Wonderful tips and having worked in the travel industry do hope that you don't mind me adding; regardless that you follow such and if travelling with someone else you might wish to consider 'dividing the suitcase contents between you', in event one goes astray. For example; if travelling with a partner pack some of their items and they yours (with a same rule applying for children).

Hola Beth!!! Gracias for all your great tips… I don’t know if you have talked about Cashmere wear before, but I would like to know your opinion on how to choose a nice sweater/brand for one? I find it confusing… want to invest in buying a nice sweater that I can keep for some years to come…❤

Hibag plastic compression bags (no vacuum needed) worked great for two weeks in Paris last winter. Family of six with 4 gals who want to look chic.

I have found that one of my essential items is a small, hand held scale which I tuck in an outside pocket of my luggage. With compression cubes that allow more to be packed and heavier items, this is a huge assist to assure that you are not standing at the counter being told that your luggage is too heavy!

Have plenty of white tissue paper for rolling-it really prevents wrinkles. Also, take purse dust bags to keep your shoes in, and to use for dirty clothes. If you separate dirty clothes by load they’ll be ready to pop in the washer upon return!

Thanks for great and informative video. Good idea to plan what you wear everyday, and stick to it, as much as possible. This is where I go wrong. I think, maybe I’ll like this sweater instead. Always pack too many tops. Better to be concise when packing. Make the decisions at home.

Liquids Bag - I have found solids for most of my liquids. From shampoo to perfume. Tip: TSA does not approve bags (marketing ploy) & TSA is USA organization. Careful traveling abroad - in Paris I had to put my liquids into a Ziplock bag (luckily I had one!).

Save bras & undies that only have one more wear (use Ziplock bag in your closet to store) then pack these and discard as worn. I’ve taken shoes, pants, etc that I don’t want anymore and leave them behind.

Hi Beth, I love your videos and I think women sharing their best tips on style is just the best. I would now love you to do this one again but actually have your empty suit case and actually pack what you are taking along for us to see! You could maybe pretend, perhaps, you are taking a holiday to somewhere warm 😎 for two weeks. Just pack it the way you always pack. That would include everything … clothes, shoes, purses, your make up mirror, skin care, hair care, make up, jewelry, sun hat and miscellaneous. For me, packing is THE WORST. I dread it! Oh and by the way, love your initials … BAD 😂. How fun is that!!! ( Beth/Elizabeth/Bethany 🤔 Anne with an ‘e’, Ann🤔).
