I know this is supposed to be a 'temporary' makeover, and that you're planning on doing a more extensive renovation down the road, but I really like the way this kitchen turned out. I think it's big enough, and it seems to function well enough, and I don't know how you would improve it.
I actually love that little tiled nook where the stove is! Maybe I'm just into the vintage slightly kitschy but not over the top vibe. ;) We're gonna renovate our kitchen, which has been here since 1947... I love the wall cabinets! They're what's called "funkiskök" in Swedish, the tilted kind. But the bottom ones have seen better days... They're also a couple of cms lower than today's standard work height. Wish my gramps was still up for construction work, back in his day he would have rocked it. ^^
Absolutely love your approach to renovating. Using second hand and putting lots of hard work and care makes your home so warm and gorgeous. Lovely to look back and see how massive the transformation is! X
Absolutely stunning. We have original floorboards in our house. Last year whilst hubby was on tour in Europe, I decided I was going to sand our floors in the living room and dining room. I couldn’t get a sander for when I needed it, so, being the impatient so and so that I am, decided to HAND sand the WHOLE two rooms! For three weeks I was bent over on my hands and knees but I did it! Sanded, cleaned and four coats of sealer and it was done. I cannot even begin to tell you how stinking proud of myself and they look stunning. I’m really enjoying your content. You’ve got a very elegant style and you’re both very likeable. Thank You for sharing your beautiful home with us.xxx
It looks so classy and you have saved a perfectly good kitchen from landfill... I did this 12 years ago, saved a complete kitchen from going in a skip... mine is looking a little tired now but it's still fine. Well done to you all...and especially Gramps, bless 'im. xxx
Beautiful! I love the little bit of the old tiles around the stove too. You really save a bundle having a handy person in your family. My brother-in-law is always helping us with projects.
This is the best kitchen remodel I've ever seen! I am obsessed and so inspired. Not only was this budget friendly but so sustainable!!! I'm seriously impressed. Well done!
I echo what Louise has said. A stunning transformation that is so considered. Your hard work shines through - and lovely that your Gramps did so much work on the kitchen. I hope he’s having a well earned rest now! It just shows that care, attention, hard work and a keen eye can reap beautiful results. It’s not always about throwing money at a problem or wanting the newest available. X
Beautiful, it's actually brought tears to my eyes, because we were supposed to have our kitchen and extension done just before lockdown, and unfortunately didn't happen and I am not sure if it ever will, but your kitchen is inspiring and simply stunning
Wow, doesn't look like the same room. You have done such a good job, well done. That original flooring was the worst I've ever seen, once that was up the place looked so much better.
Laura this looks absolutely incredible. You guys are such an inspiration to anyone out there that with a bit of love and patience, anything can be transformed. Truly a grand job!
I never noticed the first time i watched the footage (while the renovations were still going on) but that glove at 12:15 really freaked me out this time around. For a second, i thought there was a hand sticking out of the cabinet 😂 PS : absolutely lovely end result! The kitchen looks wonderfull
Congratulations on a job well done! I love that you kept the tile by the stove...I think it was the perfect thing to keep...and the only thing worth keeping! Everything looks amazing! Your hard work has definitely paid off.
OMG Laura, this looks amazing, so beautiful! Congratulations on this gorgeous kitchen, I´ve been watching all of your videos and saw how much work and effort you put into it, I couldn´t click fast enough on this video, please don´t ever change it because it looks perfect!! I know from other videos and comments that you plan on changing it in the future but I just wanted to tell you that it is gorgeous as it is. I love how functional and spacious it looks!
I hope this doesnt come across badly but it's so nice to see a british home renovation! I adore watching these kind of videos but the vast majority are American houses (which tend to be larger, and more open plan in general). Its so inspiring to see a British style room have a modern makeover as I've always been put off buying a fixer upper as I've always been worried it would never look like those beautiful pinterest homes due to the common size and layouts of homes in the UK (independent and smaller rooms) but this has just totally proved me wrong! Its looks absolutely gorgeous and I love how you managed to do it on a budget but didnt cut corners ♡ so so lovely
The kitchen looks great! I love that you bought it second hand and gave it new life. You both are very talented. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the renovations. We have renovated two homes and can appreciate all the hard work you have put in.
I am a french student, and to be fair, your transformation are just : wow !! I watched all of them in a week, and loved them so much ! I also wanted to say that I want my house to look like yours when I'll have finished my studies and got my dream job !! Hope you, your husband, and your family are doing well ! Love you xx (hope my english's good too ahah)
Thank you Annabelle! Your english is superb, so much better than my french. I hope you get your dream house one day. All the best to you and your family too 💕 x
Ah love seeing how much it has all changed! Kinda makes me want to go for another solid wood kitchen again and pick up one of the huge second hand ones. xx
Absolutely stunning. There is no doubt that lots of hard work, attention to detail and good taste always wins hands down in the end. You are a very talented couple can’t wait to see the rest of the house
Beautiful makeover. Hope you were able to sell or donate your old kitchen as well. Love that stove. And the old tile adds a little character and nod to the past.
For 15 mins of the video, I literally was thinking “there’s no way they can pull this off” and in the last min. BOOM .. it looks soooooo good! Also, the tiles behind the cooker looooookkk sssooooooo good too!! Hope you keep them 🧡
omg this was amazing, so good that you kept the tiles by the cooker, they give a personal touch to the kitchen, the breakfast corner is the perfect modern twist! LOVE IT!
wow what a difference!!! I love that old tile over the cook stove, when it was all over the kitchen it was too much, but now with just over the stove it is charming. hope you live with it a while before you rip it out. something from the old, even if the old was the 80's lol new viewer.
SUCH AN AMAZING WORK! I would have punted the whole kitchen white myself but it’s also so warm! I’m happy you decided to keep the vintage tiles, they’re such a cute detail and keep/respect the essence of the house! :) ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wow!! It is beautiful, so well done! I have to say I am SO glad you kept those tiles in the nook, it's most probably my favourite part of the kitchen. It's just the right amount too; it was a bit much before as the splash back as well. Seriously gorgeous!
Came here because I wanted to buy the spice rack on amazon and someone commented they bought it because they saw it in your video! Thanks for showing the spice rack, it's the size I thought it would be :P
Pop in some open shelves above the microwave / coffee area and that wall will look a lot more finished. Laura, I believe you asked in another video what to do above the microwave in that area. Some open shelving or artwork would really fill the empty awkward space very well, a simple and relatively quick solution!
love this! We just bought a house in London and we dont really know what kitchen company would be nice and and affordable option. Everything is so expensive we could not find anything for less than 10K! :( I wish we could just find something like you on ebay. It's absolutely stunning!
And also thank you for sharing this with us and walking us through the process, I plan on doing this one day and I´ve gotten so many ideas from your videos! I love that it is realistic and quite attainable, I love seeing renovations on youtube, they are quite beautiful but so many of them are unrealistic for most people.
Woooooow!!!! Well done!!!!! I was so worried about the floor but it looks amazing!! May I suggest putting up a large mirror above the coffee corner or breakfast nook?? It’ll reflect the window and really open the space up even more!
It was so interesting to see the transformation from beginning to end and so much fun to follow the process for the past months. I'm amazed by what you have done with the room. It looks beautiful!!
I love this kitchen!! It is bright and roomy for two cooks and allows for easy eat-in kitchen meals. The materials and efforts are well chosen and complimentary. This is a good bones for future changes if you chose, for myself this is perfect as it is now.
Absolutely beautiful job! I love the tones of the wood and the old tile too. It all goes so well together! Thank you for the tip about EBay! I had no idea you could buy a whole kitchen on there.
at the beginning when I saw the tiles I thought oh that's such a shame, these would be so cute for a little accent piece, but the whole wall is way too much, but then I was really happy with what you kept of them! Looks really gorgeous and gives the kitchen character
That second hand kitchen must have been really expensive originally with the solid wood and real stone worktop. You got such a bargain and you’ve made a beautiful job of it.
Hi Laura the stove whe tiles is my favourite of the kitchen. What a nice idea to keep it . Have been white you from the start of the renovations love it so. Love from SA Cape town xx

I really like that you utilize neutrals and color and don't just do white from floor to ceiling. Beautiful
I love that you left the old tile behind the hob. It gives a hint to the history of the home. You could accent with those colors.

Gramps was an absolute super star and has stayed away from DIY in our house ever since 😂. Thank you for such a lovely comment Clare 💕😊x
Oh my gosh that kitchen is a stunner! I've never seen anything so gorgeous available secondhand!

Min 12:18 .. I thought there was an actual hand! 😂😂
But loved this video and how you kind of did a summary of the whole kitchen Reno!
Wow, doesn't look like the same room. You have done such a good job, well done. That original flooring was the worst I've ever seen, once that was up the place looked so much better.
The flooring was a nightmare to take up! It was the same throughout the downstairs bathroom and hallway. We were so happy when it was gone 😊
