When you get tired of changing the batteries in the pop lights (I tried them too), IKEA has gorgeous and affordable cabinet/task lighting you can add to the top of the cupboards and beneath. They can be daisy-chained together and run off a single electric line you can plug in. They also have multi-plug adaptors you can add to your power outlets. Very easy to install.

Well done! You did a fab job 👍🏻 an organised kitchen is a dream. I definitely will get another pack of two of those pullout drawers and add one to each of your bottom cabinets. Also, I think you should not add another light for where your microwave is. It’s not something you want to put any attention on. Whatever you decide I’m certain it will be perfect - you have a great eye for making your house pretty! Much love 🥰

In those cabinets that lack bottom shelfs, you could put baskets instead. I do it at my place, they slide easily and work just like a drawer, without the hinges ofc. It's a more temporary solution, but is quick and rental friendly.

    Some ideas
    1. A pull out under the kitchen sink will stop things from hiding in back.
    2. Using that skinny cabinet by making it a tray caddy with dowels. Cookie trays, cutting boards, oven tray...
    3. A pretty knife magnet bar that can be mounted on side of cabinet to keep knives from getting nicked and dull in drawer.
    4. Maybe wax or oil lower cabinets so wood cabinets pop.

For the slim cupboard, if not baking trays and cooling racks. You could ask hubby to use the broken corner shelf, cut it down and put it on a shelf roller. Use the cupboard for things like nutribullet, food processor, hot choc machine, toastie maker etc. Or a three tier wire trolley (you can get them from amazing) and use them as a veggie rack? Slot it in sideways? I just didn’t add the wheels and added a cupboard protector mat. Again from Amazon.

    Useful organisation in my kitchen...
IKEA Variera pot lid organiser - also stores baking trays vertically.
Non slip drawer liner on a roll, cut to fit. I have all my crockery in drawers and NOTHING moves!
Poundshop shallow drawer inserts to corral utensils by type. Also keeps the Drawer of Random Crap in a semblance of order!

Professional organizer here... drawers in cabinets instead of shelves improve lives by 1000%, regardless of how many there are, just to be exact!!! Go for a 3rd drawer! Per your mum's advice, you can never have too much storage. Also, for the skinny cabinet you couldn't sort out the right size drawers for, perhaps you could grab a free-standing drawer unit (home goods tends to have good ones on the cheap!) and be able to store backstock cleaning goods and whatnot that you cannot fit beneath the sink.

The updates are great! When we remodeled our kitchen we had several of these features in our remodel. I love the corner lazy susan shelves. I store appliances I wouldn't use before because they were too hard to get out. We also have a small kitchen but I love it. We put up a magnetic knife holder (there are no children in our house) and that saved us drawer space. Ours is on the wall next to our stove. It works so well and we don't need to use drawer space or a knife block that takes up counter space. One of my favorite things is our under cabinet lighting. It makes such a difference. Your lights all look wonderful. Because we were having a gut remodel, ours are hard wired with wall switches. Sorry this is so rambling, but all of the things you've done make such a difference for the function of a kitchen and so similar to what we have. GREAT JOB!!!

This is giving me motivation to sort through my kitchen again. Definitely get some more lights you could put them above the cooker to light up the stove when cooking. Also just a warning from experience be careful of the oats and flour that you don't get weevils, I don't use my oats very much and had them in a similar jar which didn't have a really good seal like kilner jars and the weevils made it their home very gross.

You have made me seriously think about fitting Lazy Susan's in my 2 corner cupboards. I designed our kitchen and it is mainly drawers under bench but in the spot where the sink is it needed 4 cupboards including 2 corner ones which like you I hate having to attempt to get something from the back of them. I was lucky with the under sink cupboard because I had the perfectly sized , but skinny, space for one of the pantry pull outs (great for cleaning products, dish drops etc) and the other side fits a slide our rack with 2 rubbish bins attached (one for general waste and one for recycling). Looks like I need a bit of online retail therapy this afternoon.

The kitchen looks amazing...and it's a Transformation when something so easy to do...maybe just take one of the ones just sat on the top of your units to see behind on near your microwave and see if you need any more...you always use in cupboard somewhere ...!!

It looks great but I would swap your snacks to the bottom drawer and put your bowls /plates up in the second drawer, much better for your back. Also you could use the wood from the corner cupboard and make shelves for the small cupboard and even put them on drawer slides. Definitely get 2 more metal pull out drawers for the bigger cupboards - so useful and again much better for your back.

Can we ask you to link the cupboard inserts in the description box? They are life changing!

No lamp behind the microwave voter! It looks better in the dark. Only highlight the pretty things.
Love the lights though! Can you link them?

I have the same under cupboard lights form amazon. I got rechargeable batteries. The lights are really good but they need charging about once a week which is a tad annoying.
