    Till this tutorial i was thinking capturing with f pawn is always better because it opens a file for rook but now i have some food for thought because u r right A) it isolates E pawn & ur king becomes easy target for annoying checks B) by capturing with g pawn it gives a safe breathing space for king. Thanx John👍👍

      @ClideGeardenaweseomeness 3 года назад +1

      I thought the same, now I'm gonna change my ways. But i don't think you should take with the pawn before the opponent castes as that took looking down the open file next to the king could be disastrous

    Why is it infinitely easier to recognize tactics in puzzles rather than in a real game? Does it have to do with the fact that "Hey, you're winning in this position - find the move" is literally the premise of all puzzles?

Also was R--d7 bad allowing your king in ... why not keep it at d6 .. also later other knight up so your king has one more square to move..

    13:17 Does this rule really apply for 2 minors vs rook?
    Technical endgames are pretty much the only kind of position where a rook has a chance against 2 minors. But if instead you drum up a k-side attack with queen and 2 knights, those white majors will be totally helpless!
    Also, with more opponent's major pieces, there's just more stuff to fork! :p
