Jason, you have a really awesome personality and so does your wife. It’s so relaxing to watch your channel and learn some stuff. You are both great friends to others and that really shows in your beautiful souls! Thank you for being great people! You are so encouraging to others that it’s just absolutely beautiful to see!
Your family has grown to be one of my favorites. And your channel is must watch for me. Thank you for just being “normal” and for being yourselves and so genuine.
Love seeing new families getting their homestead! Your community is amazing and you guys, Jason and Lorraine, are a huge part of it! Love your videos! Btw...My 7 yr. old granddaughter is impressed with Penelope. That makes me smile 😊 Bless you both!
Jason it's so cool to see you guys helping to build community. This is what it's all about helping each other out not competing. Keep up the good work and God bless you all
would you guys be interested in aquaponics ? im a local fish breeder in australia, each week i throw away enough of the highest grade fertiliser in the world, which is 100% organic, to cover your entire farm with ease... (my grass grows about 2ft a week from it) you could get a simple setup started with 4 IBC totes and a couple smaller 50 gallon barrels with some PVC pipe. you would be able to grow food all year round if you set it up in a temporary greenhouse or shade clothed setup to protect it during the cooler months. not only will it grow veggies etc etc, but you'll also get a supply of proteins from the fish you choose to keep. or you could keep fish for sale to make profits off the system. my entire set up started with a single 5 gallon tank and 2 fish, i now have around 6000 gallons and 1000's of fish, which totally supports itself financially, and is growing larger by the month, currently looking at relocating in the future to quadruple production. if you set the system up to suit your needs, it can be dismantled and move very easily, and it would only take up the space of 2 chicken tractors!!!!! winning :D love from down under mates.
SO Awesome, new homesteaders to follow and watch. I subbed and rang their bell...They should meet Ben and Meg Hollar. Similar stories, situation, from Cali to NC, moved into their land in their trailer, etc.. I bet it would be a great matched up friendship!
I'm subscriber 474 for this amazing new homesteading family!!! I can't wait to follow along with them in their journey!!! Congratulations!!! Thanks so much Jason for sharing them with us!!!
This was a really interesting video. I will go over to this couple's channel and watch them as they grow their new homestead. So nice of you to lend them your chicken plucker. It will sure save them some time. Dinner looked delicious...I have never made home made tortillas. I will have to give that a try. I like the corn tortillas best. Thanks for sharing. Have a Blessed day.
Great that you had a good time at the HOA! Your farm sitter did a wonderful job. The sisters look like they need a little more time. Cool that you are loaning out your plucker. You guys are so helpful to others. Yum, Polyface sausage and eggs! The sisters sure cleaned up that brambles area in your yard. Wow, Ben and Brianne only been in NC for 3 months! Amazing what they have set-up so far. Love their barn! Their story is a lot like yours minus the cancer of course. I'm glad you guys met them at your butchering class. Yeah, they have a RUclips channel! Growing up Holt. Thanks for this Jason! Great that John Deere wants your hat! Homemade tortilla shells, cool Lorraine! Yum!
I'm so excited for these new homesteaders and watching from CA and dreaming for our opportunity to once do the same thing one day in the near future! would love to subscribe to their channel. Thank you Jason for sharing their story and yours evrytime!
Use a plastic bag from a bag of store bought tortillas (cut at the seams) it works better then the parchment paper. When your done just leave it in the press, also you get better corn tortillas if you add just a little white flour to the corn flour(masa harina). Makes them softer and less likely to crack. 1/8 to 1/4 of a cup of white flour for every cup corn flour.
I know the video doesn't do Polyface justice. I bet it's surreal seeing all the animals and their paddocks/areas. I real experience to see it firsthand. Love the videos, Jason!
Wow so awesome you helping the other family!! Loved your video about the conference! Thank you for your hard work on the videos. It’s a hard job but you guys do such a good job! Thank you for sharing your videos
Ya'll need to check out the bearded butcher RUclips videos. They raise their own animals and butcher them too. They also go hunting and show how to process that too. And it's a family owned business. They show the cuts you can get with the bones in or without bones. On a pig. They even show you how to de-skin a pig. So you don't have to dip it and scrap it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE you guys!!! I love watching you all grow in ability, confidence and comfort as Homesteaders. I love how you are show casing other newbie homesteaders who are just starting out and encouraging them. I love how you are sharing your plucker and building community. I love that you have come home from HOA with new energy and focus ready to get back into it and keep moving onwards and upwards!!! I love what you share on youtube. Keep smashing it guys! (Natalee from Western Australia)

Great to see both ends of the spectrum for homesteading. New, Middle and fully producing and selling.
I love how homesteaders husbands and wives work together
One of the main things I admire about the Homestead community is the willingness to share ideas and help each other out.
They have accomplished so much in 3 months.
The Holts story sounds very similar to the Hollars. Happy for them.

Question for you: Are you aware of any poultry clubs or homesteaders near Atlanta who would be willing to give classes on processing chickens?
