The only exception I will make is Gojo as Sigma in a JJK crossover, and reaper as Todo, otherwise they will never get a cent out of me

Overwatch should do the Splatoon thing and add "lockers" (Or whatever fits the map) in Spawn rooms, that you can put a few Souvenirs and sprays stuff in. You could then spend the 30 seconds before the match checking out all the other players' lockers

Imo the main problem with the OW2 cosmetics are the prices, they are not reasonable
For comparison, in my country, for the price of the bundle with 4 OWL skins in the shop rn, I could buy Elden Ring (with no Steam discount, on sales I could buy Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077)

To add , seasonal events have no significance/joy now as exclusive lootboxes which you’d earn from wins in the arcade and levelling up are gone, and now the shop just rotates event skins anytime of year.

I do agree with you, especially when the MHA collab includes FOUR characters and TWO of them are Ochaco and Toga lol. But imo the thumbnail does this idea a disservice, the cute winton cosmetic is goated (unlike majority of the new ones) but to be fair it didnt pop off over a super creative idea, just popped off cuz winton is winton

Imma keep it 100, I just wanted a nice high res image of a souvenir and that was one of the only ones I could find lmao. It’s like the THE souvenir so I decided to use it

I do hope they shorten some of the animations of souvenirs. I use them on Venture because:
      A) They have barely any emotes
      B) Their animation involves briefly rummaging their jacket for an item, before presenting it. No need for flexes or flourishes, and it shows off their personality. It's funny to randomly pull out Winton or Pizza or whatever and not get punished by a LONG emote timer

I think the problem is also a lot of the skins are basically GREATLY paywalled. Sure, we might get a few skins (Basically like three a season) that we can get for free, but people know that. They know you got that skin for free. You feel broke just for using them. Lilith Moira tells me you spent $40, whereas Biohazard (nowadays) told me you existed in Overwatch last week. Maybe a good balance is to LET you choose skins as a BP or Comp reward, maybe one of the paid ones. Even if they do something basic like offer one of five skins to you and the rest you have to pay for, it removes some of that negativity. Sure, if a person swaps and has the other skins, you know they paid, but you HAVE a skin that you might have paid for, and others will think that.

i really don’t understand when people say that blizzard is doing a good job on the cosmetics with this game 😂 the art design is laughably aimless and atrocious. every single skin that i have seen made for OW 2 has 0 creative vision and just looks like a generic asset from a graphics source engine 😂 it’s just insane to me because OW1 had the best cosmetics in gaming by far. it’s incredible how this game can’t even get the art right

Weapon skins will definitely be practical additions in most people's customization options when it's certainly nuanced. It doesn't really have to clash with immersion either.
    These nuances are as follows;
    1. You see your weapons far more than you can hope to see the skin you've equipped, meaning that it's easy to forget the other and identify your aesthetic mostly through the weapon
    2. Even if artists have designed the weapons' and their skins to match; it's possible you won't choose a skin because the weapon is jank in the sense that it blocks your vision or ruins your aim. Or maybe the skin loses value because you dont like the weapon itself for another reason; or perhaps the opposite may be true of it as well.
    3. if we're gonna turn the weapon gold anyway, Nearly every exclusive weapon accessible in character skins looks different infused with gold, and it may provide you some opportunities to find even more immersion by into swapping them. It's in tandem with nuance 1 and works because of the ambiguity of the single-color palette.
I realize that some of the nuances I've pointed out are somewhat centered around being able to mix and match between all the weapons and their skins in general. These are slightly different things but all of it stands if we're talking weapon skins being able to at least awkwardly get equipped onto contrasting skins.
    especially if
    4. Paid weapons should be an extension of the feeling u get equipping gold weapons. Not in the sense that you can flaunt your achievements with it, but in the other conceivable ways inferring that u got something special in your hands.
in game cosmetics are known for being goofy as long as it has existed; most notably in rpgs. u sometimes got a regular t shirt having better defensive properties than full on armor.
and then you grab yourself a legendary weapon that is unlikely to match with anything you have in your inventory aesthetically, but you'll like to wear it because it's the best thing u have.
in these cases it becomes understandable to want to base your identity around it or make it a core and central theme for the character you put it on. Meaning that it can bring over its own kind of immersion and coincide with the other three nuances mentioned above when it's a unique kind of weapon skin. To further aggravate the point i'm making, it also leans on how the juxtaposition between a deadly weapon and the otherwise typical person holding it also gives people more reason to flaunt a weapon to begin with.

They should make so that the price for skins are based on unique models.
If you want buy a skin with multiple recolors, and you don't own any of them (in short you don't own the unique model of the skin), you will pay the full price of 1900 coins/credits and you can choose the variant you want.
If you want buy a skin with multiple recolors, and you already own 1 or more of them (in short you already own the unique model of the skin), you will pay only for the color palette you want to buy for something like 250-350 coins/credits.
This system will incentivise people to buy the recolor because they will not feel scummed.
Also hot take they should pump out a lot more recolor per season if they would adopt this method, because at the end of the day they are just color palette swap, they are really easy to make and programs that could automatically do it already exist, their current system is so dumb that people are upset at them for makeing recolors for makeing easy profit, but the system isn't even optimized for makeing more profit with the same costs of production and giving people even more choise to the players.

swear the price and some skins are lazy compared to other games like smite and paladins its counterpart. Some good but most in ow2 are either recolors or decent for the price of having mutiple games you could of bought.

hearing you say you're abt to reach 1K subs is so weird because it feels like you're another one of the big overwatch discussion guys w/ thousands of subs lol
also-- on weapon skins, it seems i have the exact opposite take. why can't we mix and match all weapons and skins? if they're gonna be so expensive, i'd at least appreciate the freedom to use different parts of different skins i may like. it'd also encourage people to buy skins they may not have otherwise purchased, if they're only interested in the weapon or the skin.
