Elvis diehards can be particularly vicious. While most ETA's are generally pretty corny in their own ways, I give Shawn credit. He pushes his voice and tries the big songs. While no one can obviously match or really even get close to Elvis, Shawn is up there as far as ETA's go.
What can I say. I know one thing, Shawn is making a lot of people very happy who are Elvis fans or about to be ( because of the new film coming out about Elvis life). He has taken on Elvis' persona so realistically from mannerisms to vocals etc that I'm blown away.

He does stay in the Elvis persona after his shows to a certain extent and in most interviews. He is playing a part. This is his job and he is damn good at it. He does, however wear his own clothes when not working. There are hundreds of pictures of him on Facebook (his own and those of his associates, friends & fans) Have any of you with the snide remarks ever even met him? I have 3 times. He talks more like Elvis on stage than off. Off stage I always hear some of his Pennsylvania accent slip out from time to time. He is a very sweet, humble charismatic man. He is very good to the fans. He is also the ONLY ETA who gives the TOTAL illusion of being Elvis on stage. He has every word, every sound, every tiny move of his hands, looks to the band/backup singers, etc., facial expression, walk, humor, charisma. He is the essence of Elvis. Since the day Elvis died I have rejected the idea of anyone portraying him in movies or singing. Almost 2 years ago a friend talked me into watching Shawn on You Tube. I was absolutely floored! I could not believe my eyes or ears. I went to see his show when he came to my hometown and it was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed. I had to remind myself it was not 1977 and this was not really Elvis on stage. He is just that phenomenal!! I traveled out of state 2 months later to see him again and will do the same again next month. Any time he is near by I will see him. There are only a handful of ETA's out there that are any good at all. They do a good job and are very respectful of Elvis, also, but I always am aware that I am watching a tribute artist. When Shawn is on stage I have to remind myself he is Shawn, not Elvis. Please show some respect to him and the very few others who are any good. They work hard and have some mighty BIG shoes to try to fill if only for a couple hours on stage each show. They do this to give those of us who never had the Elvis experience a chance to know what it may have been like. If you like someone else better then go watch their videos and stop making rude remarks on Shawn's.

When people do this sort of thing for a living they open them selves to public scrutiny, weather you like or not they are entitled to pass comment good bad or indifferent. Personally I think he has taken it to far, and in my opinion this is what causes a lot of the negative comments. Martin Coleman I just saw him last week. I was in the same hotel and 2 doors down from his suite. I saw him & spoke with him more than once in the hall & elevators. He was dressed in his own clothes and no makeup. He speaks somewhat differently and his Pennsylvania accent is there rather than a southern one. So, no. He does not always stay in Elvis mode or live as Elvis. He is very sweet & funny and very respectful of Elvis' memory.

(2007) He opened doors and led the way for guys like Ben Portsmouth and Bill Cherry. I absolutely love Ben because he not only does an awesome Elvis, but often uses his own beautiful voice when its just him & an acoustic guitar. Bill Cerry is also awesome...I love him when he jokes around on stage, and just has fun with the crowd. He loves to tease the ladies thats for sure! 😊❤ I love all the guys, each one has their own personna & personalities. And I thank guys like Shawn & the others for keeping Elvis' memory and legacy alive..God bless them all!

This man Exudes Elvis. doesn't even try to be like elvis he's jst being himself but coming over so much like elvis. He just naturally sounds similar. I don't think he even knows how to be anyone else anymore he's been doing Elvis for so long. He won’t be able to drop the persona it’s been ingrained in him from a very young age starting as a 3yr old. He knows he's not Elvis but is very respectful of Elvis's memory. Elvis went way too soon so someones gotta carry it and keep it going and Sean is that very man so why not him He really understands wat it was like for elvis all the long hrs the travel
