    It's a very heavy and serious song. And it's a very, very difficult song. The esoteric Octave Arpeggio seems to have picked on the performer but failed to pick on Pollini. The lyrical melody in the middle of the song is also excellent.

    • @mossfitz
      @mossfitz 8 месяцев назад

      It’s an etude for piano, or a ‚piano piece‘. One thing it is not, is a song. That Apple decided at some boardroom meeting to use ‚song‘ for all music shouldn‘t impoverish language and make people sound like idiots

    It requires a lot stamina, to be sure, but in my opinion this is one of the easier etudes. Then again, different people will probably find different etudes easy or difficult. The challenge is to master all of them.

    • @forgottenbooks2395

      As someone who plays it, I think I do. This is one of the easier studies.

    • @forgottenbooks2395
      @forgottenbooks2395 8 лет назад +6

      What's clear is that you don't know how to read. If you'd read my comment in its entirety before you began foaming at the mouth, you would have got to the part where I said, "Then again, different people will probably find different etudes easy or difficult."

    • @forgottenbooks2395
      @forgottenbooks2395 8 лет назад +20

      You continue to spew things that don't contradict what I've repeated over and over again: "Different people will find different etudes easy or difficult." What fits easily under one person's hand may not fit so easily under another's; and the challenge, as I said in my original comment, is to master all the studies. You're probably convinced that you're making a point, but I assure you, you're not.

    • @forgottenbooks2395
      @forgottenbooks2395 8 лет назад +19

      My comment was about their relative difficulties to individual players. Are you being deliberately dense?

    • @noahqiu8016
      @noahqiu8016 8 лет назад +2

      The middle part of this etude is very difficult. If you can play octaves well, then most of this etude isn't that bad. However the middle section is very difficult to phrase well and maintain a flow.

      @jackcurley1591 5 лет назад

      Luis Cool 200 no they’re pretty similar speeds... I’ve read through both and this is definitely harder. You can hardly use the pedal otherwise the piece sounds too muffled (primarily using finger legato here is really annoying) and bringing out all of the inner voices in the right hand is really tough. The Liszt rhapsody is just straight octaves, and easier octave figures at that.

    This is really like a Liszt piece at the begining, especially that pathetic mood. I know it's typical to Chopin too but the mid-section is really like Chopin... but even that part feels like Liszt. If I didn't know its composer I'd definitely say Liszt.
