We have made it to the richest city in India, Mumbai! So join us on the epic adventure as we explore the city of dreams!
We start the day by taking a taxi to the famous market in the downtown of mumbai where we find may foods such as brownies and juice, before we head to the famous gateway of India and are met with many friendly locals. Now it was time for us to try the most imfamous indian street food in mumbai, vada pav.
We then continued through the dark streets in search of a holi shirt for tyler. We later found that shirt but sadly lost the footage from some of the day where we tried some more streets foods.

For a good part of my life, the city was called Bombay. I will always think of it as Bombay. To me, there’s kind of a romantic nostalgia to Bombay. I have a very hard time identifying it as Mumbai. 😢
Most 55-60 plus people in India too still call it Bombay.

Actually most of the British looking buildings of Mumbai were built by the Parsi merchants and traders and also some jews too.
A lot those Parsis still live there but Jews are leaving to Israel as they can get that citizenship just for being jews.
Gujaratis too
The architects were mostly Irish or Scottish , few of them British Noblemen appointed by the Royals. They lived in India for several years and became more Indians than a lot of locals , picked up local language and culture, and treated the locals with utmost respect and dignity.
This shows that British Raj had a good side to it too.....

Also check out elephanta caves, and Bhaja Caves, Chatrapati shavaji mahraj terminus, Bandra sea link, Lohagad, Visapur Fort, Shaniwar Wada, Golconda Fort, Ellora Caves, Ajunta Caves, Bollywood sets/houses/studios/areas, Shivaji Statue, Rajkot Fort, taj hotel, most expensive house(antilla) just to name a few.
Also check out the movie Kalki in theatres(hope you find one with english subtitles) in India while your there.
*Places to eat at in Mumbai:*
*1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)* -
One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place.
*2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai)* -
The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth.
*3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai)*
A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. Famous for their wraps, Tikkas, Tandooris & barbecued stuff.
*4. Leopold Cafe (area - Colaba causeway in Mumbai)* - Nice beer, barbecues, nice desserts.
*5. Pancham Puriwala - (area - fort in Mumbai)* - 5 types of puris(bread), savory dishes & desserts.
*6. Persian Darbar - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)*
Famous for their Raan Biryani. Delicious Mughlai cuisine. You'll love it.
*7. Mahesh Lunch home - (area - Juhu Tara road in Mumbai)* Heaven for Sea food lovers. Very clean & hygienic and you can get the most iconic sea food dishes here.
*8. Mini Punjab's Lake side - (area Powai in Mumbai)* Need to call and book a thaali(platter) in advance.
Famous for its Dara Singh Thaali - available in both veg & non-veg versions. A must try.
*9. Britannia & co. restaurant - (area - Ballard estate, Fort in Mumbai)*
Famous for its Irani / Parsi cuisine. Awesome Desserts & Sodas.
*10. Anand Stall - (Vile Parle west in Mumbai)*
A fast food joint famous for its awesome Vada Paav, Sandwiches & Dosas.
*11. Mohammed Ali road - (Area - CST - 6 pm onwards till late night)*
The whole street is filled with street vendors who sell various non-vegetarian stuff and some vegetarian too. Plus, there are some really nice restaurants on the same street. Try the famous dessert that you get only on this street in a sweet shop. The dessert is called Aflatoon.

Mumbai is pretty poppin'. That's an epic white shirt hunt there haha you have walked to many interesting places and markets ,got some tasty vada pav; encountered friendly Indians and even played with adorable kitties Very epic!
The security checkpoint at Gateway of India never existed before. It was installed after the 2008 Terrorist Attacks on Taj Hotel along with other prominent sites across Mumbai.

Hey I was born in Mumbai. It may be dirty, a lot of air pollution BUT two things remain, first the people are wonderful wonderful wonderful and second the food cannot be compared. I love Mumbai even though I live in Canada.

Lot of scammer? India is not only delhi. Scammer is very rare in other regions. Only you can find lot in Delhi, Agra , Jaipur. Mumbai is not worst. It is good place to visit.
