I love that old Singer Sewing machine. This block looks a little like a fancy window. Yes, this would be a wonderful way to use up a lot of scraps. Thank you for this video.
I was so happy to find one of your videos in my feed today. I’ve been a follower for over 7 years. Thanks for such a remarkable quilt block. As always you inspire me to create and I’m heading down to look through my scrap fabric!
Wow, Susan you have fancy nails today. This block is certainly one that I could mess up on , simple yet no daydreaming for sure. Thanks Susan for sharing with us. 👍❤️🙂
Susan, this block, I feel would make a beautiful quilt using the blocks in this video. Great job on how you demonstrated it's assembly. You nails look good. 👍
Really like this one. Not complicated but so much texture you can add to it just by choosing different fabric. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a terrific weekend. 😉
I think it would be less confusing to lay out and sew each quadrant individually then arrange them. Arranging the smaller square blocks would allow for switching them around in a scrappy design.
Great looking block. I think I’ll use several of these for a table topper or runner. Susan, could you please tell me how I can get better at sewing a 1/8” stitch around different projects. For example, if I want to use a basting stitch around a quilt sandwich before I bind it, how can I do this without going off the fabric. I don’t have trouble with the 1/4”, but the 1/8” is problematic for me. Do you have suggestions for this 80-year-old not very capable sewist? Thanks. Pat Berne. I have a Singer 4452 and a Singer 9960. Would attachments help?
You could try using diagonal seam tape on your machine and position it so that there is 1/8" from the needle to the edge of your fabric. Then follow that edge of the tape when you want a 1/8' seam allowance.
I love this for an attractive scrap quilt-but you can’t do it with your brain in neutral, can you! A larger design board would be helpful for this, also, along with the clips and Alphabitties. And a diagram. Definitely a diagram! 😅 Thanks for this clever block!

This block is very different from your usual style of pattern. It is a great block. Thank you for the tutorial on it.

So glad I found your RUclips channel. From one Loftin ( from Texas) to another. You make it practical, and easy sewing.

Good for you quilting at 80, I’m 71 and I’m hoping to still be quilting in my 80’s. Happy Quilting 😊

@@sunrisequiltstudio Thanks a million! That’s what I will do!
