Wow that was Her! Wow!!! Thanks! Watching that video next. Did you see the skirts covering the knees. I remember back then one time, my sister was sent home from school for showing her knees. It was considered taboo. It was like in the western days, women didn't show even their ankles. Poeple have lost the meaning of modesty.
"you can be sexy with class"...beautiful sentence and it's the truth..they were sooo sexy !!...Ohhh...the Ronettes...at last !!..."Walking In The Rain" is another Ronettes' masterpiece of the '60s music !!!
Ronnie was about 18 when sang this in 1963. I was 11 and loved it. She was considered “bad girl”of rock and roll. Just think she could be your grandma lol. Don’t you just love oldies but goodies music? Love your reactions.
Ronnie Spector and the Ronnettes were part of Phil Spector’s incredible “wall of sound” producing style. Sadly he kind of lost his marbles and ended up committing murder. He was notorious for waving a gun around when he wasn’t getting his way. Ronnie (who was married to Phil for many years) ended up leaving their home with the clothes on her back and that’s all she took from their time together. Thankfully she escaped with her life.
Yeah, absolutely, it's what you say about Phil Spector (it's truly awful to see his last incarceration photos before he died at 81 in January 2021), but, if nothing else, he produced the very wonderful 'A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector' that featured The Ronettes.
Now that heard this, you need to hear Ronnie sing guest back up on the 1986 song Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money. 20 years later. She sings the line Be My Little Baby that came from this song. She is also in the video.
The one and only Rony Specter of the Ronnettes. Was married to record producer extraordinaire and one of the greatest sounds engineers Phil Spector and his "Wall of Sound." He helped produce and managed many artists and groups in particular the "Righteous Brothers." This song "Be My Baby" (1963). Was the Ronnettes biggest hit. Great reaction as always.
We had all the classy acts. Looked great and sounded great. So many groups and great entertainers. The new hits every few days on the radio. So, so many hits.
Now you just hit greatness here ! This is a Grand Slam ! Ronnie and the Ronettes were super popular. Happy times back then. Such beautiful voices. A very very cool group too. Everyone in the Universe loved them and danced to their songs. Ronnie was so cute and adorable.
You guys are knocking the classics out of the park today! Bravo! When you're ready for more from The Ronettes, check out "Baby, I Love You", "Walking In the Rain", and "I Can Hear Music" among others.
This is another one of the fabulous girl groups from the early 60's. Phil Spector produced this group. He later married the lead singer Ronnie. They had lots of hits including "Baby, I Love You", "(The Best Part of) Breakin' Up" & "Walking in the Rain"
This song was an instant hit. I can remember the first time I heard it. We used to have these weekly dances even on school nights. If you can believe that anyway everyone went crazy over this song. I miss those old days. I love you guys. You’re so good at this.♥️♥️
This is Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys favorite song! He would begin each day with this song turned up as loud as it would go! Brian was an admirer of Phil Spector’s ‘Wall of Sound.”
I just loved your response to this song. I was 16 when it was first released and it was a monster hit. We felt then just how you reacted today. It's fascinating to see a younger generation excited by the same music that thrilled us.
Back when female artists were ladies. I completely agree with you, about being classy and not having to sell yourself out by showing everything you've got.
Ronnie and Estelle are sisters; Nedra is their cousin. All gorgeous and classy, with both Black, Caucasian and also either Cherokee or Chinese heritage. The studio version is a must hear. No 2 US Billboard hit; now famous internationally. Cher Bono sang her first song as a backup signer on this recording.
Eddie Money did a song called Take Me Home Tonight that featured Ronnie Spector singing and I must say for her age at the time she still had it going on and looked incredible. Always sounded great.
I saw a documentary a long long time ago, and Ronnie was recalling that her voice resembled the late, great Frankie Lymon's [ you have reacted to him recently]. That was part of the initial intrigue when she met Phil Spector.
Ronnie Spector from The Ronettes just died today. 💔 You two are so sweet. Bravo for going on this endless journey. Excellent point that you can be fully clothed and still be sexy. The difference is that these women had talent.
You are so right "Sexy with Class" is a perfect way to describe these talented, lovely ladies. When teenage, never went out with a girl, me... in lily-white (back then) Dearborn, MI watched this performance when it was first broadcast my reaction was the same as any man of any color who watched this... I thought "I'll be your Baby... I'll be your Baby. No chance in hell but I'll be your Baby if you'll take me!" I think groups like this contributed almost as much to the civil rights movement as the brave marchers did. By the way, the lovely lady here is a modern example of her comment and the young man is a great guy. This old fart is overjoyed that young people like you enjoy the fabulous music I grew up with. By the way... The Marvelettes were from a suburb next to mine and of course, a pile of other great Motown stars were from my area. A truly golden time.

LOVE all of this music and so much fun seeing you react to them. WHEN are you going to do MORE BEATLES? Especially their EARLY songs, which a lot of reactors ignore, and listen to their later songs.
Thanks, guys -- Ronnie was awesome (she was teenager when she did this!)- I had the privilege to meet her once several years ago -- after a show - and the first thing I said was how much I loved her music and performance -- so, I'm about 5 ft. 9 in. -- and she's like maybe 5 ft. 1 -- as soon as I met her she ran right up and threw her arms around my neck and thanked ME -- she is amazing!

The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. So deserving. Ronnie Spector was the truth!
Ronnie was adorable!

The fact that it took that long for them to get in was a disgrace and disrespect

How!?
As a group, they didn't have many 40 40 hits

If Anything, Ronnie Deserved To Be In There By Her Self
Eddie Money had her on backup on Take Me Home Tonight one as a throw back tribute "Just like Ronnie sang...Be my baby"
