Awesome video Tyler. I seriously appreciate you taking the time to show how to do a quick tune to the gun. As you know I have the .25 caliber of the exact same version that you have there. I went straight to shooting the JSB MK II 33.95 Grain, and you saw my post on the accuracy at 25, 50, and 100 yards. I might even go back into my tune and lessen the factory set air pressure on the regulator and use just the right amount of hammer spring to stay at my lights out accuracy in the 850ish FPS tune. Steve with AEAC used my tune as you probably already seen as produced the same results as I did. Can't wait to see his video here real soon. Thanks again.

I live overseas in the carribean PR not in the states. In my other X .22 cal the reg is set almost the same to 1800 psi with 0 tension to the h/s. Both airguns are extremely accurate with this tunes, the pellets that this airgun barrel like the most are the JSB exact jumbo heavy’s 18 grains. Iam about to buy the Avenge X. I would like the bullpup bottle version. But I can't tell if you have to remove the stock to adjust the hammer spring. If so I'll stick with the standard bullpup.
If you please: 1) What does the Low Power adjustment do? How much does the power decrease? Do I need to adjust the hammer spring after going to Low Power? 2) Does the Bullpup stock decrease the weight any? 3} Is there a magazine for the .30 cal? Otherwise, great review!
1) It's a transfer port adjuster, so it basically shrinks the size of the transfer port and restricts air flow to the barrel. Typically, this reduces the velocity by around 200 fps (not exact and can vary depending on how the gun is set up). To get the best results, yes, you want to adjust the hammer spring and reg pressure to optimize the performance when set on the Low transfer port setting. 2) Not really, they are about the same, maybe a little more since you add trigger linkages and extra scope rail sections. 3) No, not available in .30 cal.
Absolutely love my original avenger and my avenged X tactical, both in .22. 3 months ago looking at my 1st pcp, I wanted adjustable power (good amount of power) accuracy and affordability. Question please: I’m a rookie with PCP air rifles. What does changing the Hammer Spring tension (or pressure) do to performance of the rifle ? Appreciate your educational video sir.
So the hammer spring tension changes how hard the hammer hits the valve. Simply, the harder you hit it (more hammer spring tension), the more the valve opens and the more air that can pass through. The idea with tuning is to find a balance point where you are getting enough air to push the projectile at the speed you want consistently, without wasting air. In general, more hammer spring tension will increase the output power, but decrease the shot count. Less HS, will give more shots at a lower power. This is all dependent on the regulator pressure you set the rifle to of course. So it's all about finding the balance point for the performance you want, and unlike most PCP's, the Avenge-X is one of a few that give you the ability to adjust those things on the fly.
