The reason why they're pretty fun is because the 4 character mechanic adds a little more to the attacks (like the green/red shell for example) i think having a lot of buttons to press made them pretty fun to use
Personally, I'd say the egg is probably the worst one. It can be a bit janky and just doesn't feel like the impact actually damages the enemy. I'm glad it was fixed and made better in BIS as the meteor which was better in many ways.

I think the chomp is C tier because it's really hard to use and I don't think it does that much damage
