      Thank you. I don't think I will ever be a full on HAED stitcher, but last week... it was great. If I was gonna do big full coverage all the time, I'd have to do the over one on 25 or 28 count. And I don't love that. I will do that on a smaller full coverage piece... but not a BAP. :)

    I have the same excitement when I get to stitch a different color on a piece. It give me a lift to keep going. I like the bird houses. I could see you stitching that one up in no time...flying from one house to the other...just like a little busy bird. lol

      Haha. Those It Takes a Village designs are deceptively high in stitch count. haha. But, they are fun. I don't stitch a lot of whimsical designs, but for some reason these little village designs appeal to me. They remind me of living in a sub-division. Little blocks of houses. And the backstitch harkens back to the stitching of the 80s and 90s. And colour. :D

      Hey, nice to hear from you even if it's not every week. Sometimes, we have to prioritise other things, eh?
      I usually watch Flosstube on my TV, so I have to make a concerted effort to go back through my viewing history to like and comment on videos. Sometimes... that just doesn't happen.
      I am going to start the Birdy Boulevard next. Perhaps in March? I dunno when. I probably won't take it away as I won't kit it up with the floss. I just grab my boxes of DMC and pull from them as needed, so it is really a stitch at home project. Although, like the previous two, I probably will stitch the "road" or the box first... and that usually has 6-7 colours and I could pull those. I don't know. We shall see.
      Yeah, dad knew I probably couldn't make it up there. The boys were both there, and that was enough. I would rather spend time with dad just the two of us and make our own memories. He didn't need me there per se.
      Have a great week, and thanks for saying hi!

    9000+ stitches!! Wow! It’s looking great! The birdhouse village piece is very springy, oh I was gonna say it’s the perfect time of year for that but you’re going into fall soon! It looks fun regardless!

    • @CreativeLeigh1919
      @CreativeLeigh1919  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ha ha. It is very springy. I don't really care about seasonal stitching (we don't really have that big a difference here... you know. We get no snow. I wear one layer of clothing in summer and I wear the same clothes in winter but put socks on and a jacket when I go outside. haha. Many of our native trees are evergreen.)
      But if I started it now... perhaps I could FINISH it in Spring? Ha. I don't know when I will start it, but I am conscious that I typically have at least one and often two (or three) Carolyn M Designs on the go and... I don't have any right now! Given I have around... 30 of her charts... that is just not on! :D

      I keep meaning to upgrade the Retirements Savings. It is currently a Hello Fresh box... but really I need to either upgrade it, or at least cover it and print up a sign that says "Retirement Savings" as that would bring me joy each time I look in the cupboard and see that. Inside jokes make me happy.

    Sometimes when a project is screaming to be stitched, ya gotta just stitch it. GREAT progress on your full coverage! I have been tempted by two in particular by Thread Geeks, but with how slow I stitch, I'm worried I'll be 90 by the time I finish them lol love the smalls you have picked out, and after Fraktur Freida; you also have that PA heart as a small too you can throw into the mix :D love those antique item series, need to get my tea and cat done at some stage. I havne't even thought as far as Christchurch. Still need to book my flights XD

    • @CreativeLeigh1919
      @CreativeLeigh1919  7 месяцев назад

      It doesn't matter if a) you're 90 when you finish, or b) if you ever finish. Also... are they designs you could cut down? Sarah Stitchin' Mommy does a good job of cutting off a bunch of background to focus on the pretty. Mostly that works on classic art works though. Less on more modern art that is designed to fill the space. :)
      I have the PA heart pulled out to rechart the wording. I think I mentioned it a couple of FT ago... With the Penn. Fraktur Birds piece, I changed the wording to my name and my location (Trentham). Well, the post office has changed us to Wallaceville now... so, i need to rechart the words around the heart to have the same font as my name on the birds piece, and to change to Wallaceville. I think it cute that I haven't moved but my sub-division has haha. I also kitted it up.. so I just need to get that charted and then, I can stitch it up.
      As for your flights... get them booked, woman! if you fly in Friday morning (e.g. will be there Friday afternoon), let me know. I am planning on having lunch in Chch on Friday and going to Art and Frame in the afternoon.

      It certainly was a ridiculous number of stitches haha. I did get a callous on my needle pushing finger, and a wee hole in my needle receiving finger. The joys of stitching in hand, with the sewing method, and a size 28 needle! The things we do for our craft, eh?

    But your random s**t is fantastic- love it! And now I need to look up those CM villages 🤦‍♀️ I love Linda Ravenscroft’s art - I have 2 of her Haeds on the go. And I was lucky enough to meet her last summer in her studio in Glastonbury - she had time for a chat and was a lovely lady ❤️

      I’m stitching the Snow King, and the one called Healing by HAED, but I think Linda calls it the Green Lady. Both at very early stages 😂 She was very interested in the stitching and said to bring one to the studio when I’ve finished it so she can see and sign it - well that’s a big encouragement obviously! And I bought a large print of The Daughter of Avalon at the studio - I have the chart for that too but knew that to aim to finish 3 was a little over ambitious 🤦‍♀️ Your Mystical ladies will be superb 😃

      Beautiful stitching - as always. I'm sure you've said it before but I don't remember -- your mystical moments -- are you doing full cross or tent? And how many strands?

    • @CreativeLeigh1919
      @CreativeLeigh1919  7 месяцев назад

      I probably did say back in 2022 when I started her. I am stitching 1 strand, full cross on 20ct Aida. Tent (2 strands) would technically be quicker, but cos I stitch in hand, I would have a huge issue with warping. Also, I am hopeless as I automatically start crossing and then I end up having to undo half my stitching when I remember I was supposed to only do the bottom leg! :D
