Actually you have a good knowledge about crossing the hedge almost everything you talked about I read in the Ophiel's book and also in The Crooked Path book, I did not read any other books but I heared that these 2 are good, about protection I agree, I mean it is better safe than sorry, some people say that theres nothing to worry about there, but at the same time it could be that many of us have protection without us knowing about it, could be that they are being helped without realizing it and then saying everyone else that we shouldn't worry about anything, I think you are very right in saying that we all should learn and gain knowledge about crossing the hedge, take it slow, think of a purpose and a place we wanna go, not just going with it blind, about the stuff that some take to rush the process, I think we all should be careful not to take or put anything toxic on our body, at the end of the day it takes skill and time to learn but also to be ready to get there, but safety comes first

I experienced this recently-l was in complete darkness but l could feel other spirits moving around me -Hekate told me to fly up and away from the other spirits -l flew up and it was like swimming -Hekate's voice told me to "Go up! Go up! Go up!" I felt like l was moving my arms very fast and my shoulder blades were a bit sore and tired afterward. I used NOTHING such as a flying ointments or anything else. However, 48 hours prior l did smoke some mugwort and used some of Banefolks poison flower essence perfume in ritual -maybe it took that long to effect me. The experience was astounding! I did have an anchor that l wear 24/7 a large witch medallion made by Acid Queen Jewelry. This occurred during Mabon.
Mushrooms, lsd, peyote and ayahuasca would probably be one of the best things to help you out on a journey. I've had friends traveling through space and time without doing anything else but taking it.

Does it feel like a lucid dream?

I am very confused as to what people mean when they say they journey, as a lot of the way people describe things have a fantastical spin on it? Just my 2cents: only pointing to the works of Carlos Castaneda. In short, all your energy is directed towards dreaming. Unthinkable parralel worlds like layers of an onion is what dreams perceive. You realize that you aren't the dreamer but the dreamed. You save energy through losing self importance, saving sexual energy, & recapitulation. When you shed the flesh, you remain aware & continue your dream....another thing, be careful with those spirits or deities or ancestors as they are called. They may be advanced entities from farther out layers of that onion preying upon your energy....try this: look for a mirror over & over in your dreams; you'll see yourself as you exist in parralel realities....
