- Here is a film I made about hedge witchcraft and the art of hedge riding. It was originally made for the Leaping Hare Pagan Conference 2019 in Colchester, Essex, and premiered on March 30 2019. After many requests, I decided to add it to the Witchy Ways series :)

You described me and what I have been searching to find out for almost 50 years who am I and why am I so different and why do others treat me so differently. I don't necessarily seek out to separate myself from others but found it necessary and that they don't appreciate the gifts that I have but what's more frustrating is when you don't understand the gifts that you have because you haven't been able to find someone like yourself to explain what they mean thank you so much.

By 1:45 i legit i live on the edge of town i have a garden and 2 cats. I love tarot. I sing to my animals and yes i know when rain is coming. I have home remedies for many things. Lol light and love to you all.

informative and beautiful. thank you for taking the time to make this. i enjoy hearing experienced practitioners talk about their craft & practice. i'm still figuring that out for myself, not sure if i even fit into any category, maybe that's what *really* defines a 'chaos' magician. -i live near a forest and would like to get to know the local spirits, but it doesn't seem to come as naturally to me as some practitioners. anyway, thank you again, peace !
I feel this! I long to connect with the spirits of the land and my ancestors, yet it doesn't come naturally to me either. What does come naturally is spending time in nature, talking to the insects, plants, the elements etc. I also sing and practice shamanic journeying. The singing, I feel in my heart as a form of communication, but as much as I'm drawn to going between worlds and talking to other beings, I find it hard to get there 😔. Recently, I'm wondering if that's because the ordinary world insists on requiring so much of my attention. Prehaps I need to work on creating more magic and ritual in the everyday world for now. I find that easy in the natural world. It's the human world I struggle with. The world of small talk, routine and society values. But prehaps there is magic to be found in these things too. I think my reply to your comment may have actually led me to find the answer to what I need to be focusing on right now. Thank you ❤

Btw al witches are hedge Witches the weurd hex in deutch or heks in dutch comes from proto Germanic hagatessa, with the haga standing voor hagana wich means hedge or edge the dutch weurd hek wich means fence also comes from hagana in haggadessa ot haggatesse its not in the litteral way. Its cause Witches/seers often lived at the edge of town next to the forest or in thr forest close to towns/ villages. and tesse stands for rider both in female or male form is possible. The weurd hex is is directly decent from heggatesse.

Thank you for this video, very clear in the explanations. A great movie, congratulations! I would like to ask you a question: you say that a Hedge Witch talks to the dead, to other Spirits etc... But do they want to talk to us? Or are we like those people who knock on your front door when you're in the shower? How do you tell if a Spirit wants to communicate with me without me bothering them? Great question! And one that I don't think has a definitive answer, because each person's experience would be different. I know that from my own experience, if a spirit doesn't want to talk to me, it doesn't. Am I bothering it? Perhaps. But before I even get into that situation, I evaluate the place that I am in, and get a feeling for it. The place will usually let you know what kind of spirits reside there, and whether they are amenable to being called to or not. Some places, I've felt a very strong "go away!" vibe, and so didn't bother the spirits at all. :)
my dominant leg is left while my dominant hand is right. The reason I know this is I was a dancer growing up and I was odd in that my left leg was dominant. Should I stand on left and hold right hand to eye or just pick one side?
Hiya! I think it's probably best to just pick a side in your situation, but try different positions and see what works best for you first and foremost :) Rule number one in witchcraft!

Well damn - if this didn't describe me down to a T - I don't know what else would.
I love this video so much. I want to ask a question to all you lovely witches. Would it be disrespectful to identify as a hedge witch if I have not yet successfully “hedge ridden” or “astral projected” ...let’s say unassisted. I see that there is some disagreement on what experience actually counts as hedge riding. I am still learning to fully experience spiritual travel without being aware of my body. I am young and I feel like such a feat must take a lot of practice unless you are rather lucky. But I have seen some say that you cannot be a hedge witch if you cannot fully astral project. What do you think?
Hi Saige! I would say that the wonderful thing about any Witchcraft path is the reclaiming of the word witch. If you say you are a witch, and you are doing the work, studying, experimenting and walking your talk, then you are a witch. What other people say does not matter! Even me :) But in my own opinion, for what it's worth, I would say you can call yourself a hedge witch while not having hedge ridden without assistance. You are still learning, we all are still learning, and we will never stop learning. I also call myself an author, but I am still learning new elements to my writing craft each and every day. I'm not proficient in all aspects of writing, but I am still an author. So, keep up the work, claim that name for yourself if you wish, and don't let other people dictate what you are to the world. x

How would I go about determining if this is me?
Spend some time out in nature, in the liminal places. Read some books on the subject, and meditate upon what you have read. And then look in your heart - you'll know the answer :)
I grew up at Mersea island near Colchester, where foot high green and grey folk can be seen running for cover. I don't know what they are? I still go back to pay respect to Sarah Wrench at east Mersea church a 15yr girl died 1848 accused of being a witch! More like abused and killed :(. Have you been to her grave?

just a thought , traditional witchcraft and shamanism are the predecessors of all the modern esoteric religions, in your video you made it sound as if witchcraft is late to the game , the name hedge may be a 1990's creation ,but witchcraft , healers ,shamans go back thousands of years in Europe ,middle east and Asia . all of these religions are important ,but we must honor there true beginnings as well . thank you ,otherwise fantastic video ...love and respect ..have a great day ...} O { ...

Dear Joanna, I don't think that the mega Groves like the OBOD are good things. I feel that the druids find nature and magic better in small groves. We have all seen what happens in the Christian
Church when they got big churches and it all became about the money. Big institutional earth based religion is not a good idea. And druid Archdruids have already become more concerned with
making money than with the druid path. It is too easy to get caught up in making money and then people who don't even believe in faeries or dragons start to run things and just take all of the
magic out of the druid way of life. I think many people think that being a druid is a role playing game, and it is not. I think some kind of small training center would work if everyone was dedicated
to keeping the cost of a class to the bare minimum, and no one was trying to profit from the class, but that must be for the grove to decide. Small is beautiful. I can see how we as druids need
to introduce young people to nature and explain to them about the world of faery because many young people spend all their time away from nature. However, there are all kinds of expenses and insurance when running a druid camp. The best thing we can do is keep things free, and help those people who are interested in what druids do and believe. Being a druid is more than
just having a lot of new age beliefs. Because druids believe in reincarnation, that means we have all been druids before. We have spiritual access to the knowledge of being a druid, and are aware
that we are druids already. We do not need some mega grove giving us a badge to prove we are a druid. And as druids, we think for ourselves, and do not need an archdruid to tell us what
