Man. You’re hands down the best channel. Learning a ton. Thanks for that. Subbed. Trying to learn so I can print my 2 kids busts of iron man and spider man. I’ll join the discord too man
Hey Frank 👋🏼. Watching you at SiliCON with all the other creators gave me FOMO. I bought my first 3D printer on your recommendation yesterday (voxelab aquila). It was on my Amazon Wish list and went on sale. Can’t wait to see what the next 12 months has in store for me as I start my own Iron Man suit build. Maybe see ya at a CON next year. Thanks for the inspiration. I’ll be on your channel often. BTW, great after credit scene on this YT vid 👌🏼👍🏼
Love your content, been following you on tiktok and Instagram for ages now and subscribed from when you first started building your iron man suit, keep up the good work dude your absolutely smashing it!
Back in 2007, my full body rubber Batman costume in the parade at Dragon-Con. It was around 100º that day. The paramedic said I was within minutes of major heat stroke.
I am building some clone trooper armor right now and I cannot imagine how awful and constricting it must be to be in an Iron Man suit the clone trooper is already bad but you have so much more to deal with I don’t think I could ever have the dedication to wear that like you do. Also HOW COOL IS THAT you did such a good job on it and it shows nice work man!!!!
So an idea to help hold the chest plate on you could use twist pins. You put a oval pin through a metal eyelid, twist the pin to lock in place, may help 🤘🏻
Awesome as usual. Frank can you post what shows you are attending? I think your fans would like that. Hoping to see you at the next San Diego Comic-Con. Hopefully my Mk 85 will be completed by then.
try a thick coat or resin epoxy where the paint rubs off if it get damaged a quick buff or recoat fixes it right up and is easier than resanding and repainting
I heard you mention that a friend had a full body armor suit , I ordered one, I hope he was comfortable in it ! should be getting it soon . I ordered it last December . Looking forward to having fun in the suit . thanks for all the heads up !
I have two questions, one I think I already know the other I have seen mixed answers for. First question, can you sit on the codpiece? Second question, can you see through the eyes with the LED lights on?
I dread a plastic armour The mobility is awful but the look is amazing I build from EVA foam so it can’t be as glossy but man the movement is so much better
Hi frank! In your video, becoming Ironman part 2, you mentioned, adding a ruler scale add on to cura. I was wondering which add on you used, I tried to see if I could figure it out but……lol
I had to laff at this. I have been wearing steel armor for historical combat reenactment for hours at a time during fair season. I wish I had his complaints.
Love your work inn this channel😎 I was thinking about your scratched paint where the part rubbing, have you tried transparang anti scratch film for cars?
I have been building suits weather armour latex etc, I have always walked in them for hours. Bend over and move all over before I ever wear them in public. I also video everything so I can see weak spots and from a different point of view
You probably won't see this, but maybe you could use a hidden internal buckle system using elastic straps so that you can access the buckles only when you pull the torso sections away from each other?
I'm looking at titanium filament for $400 a roll and a 3D printer want to make a real one that's Bulletproof? I wonder if it would take the same 10 or 12 rolls probably should double that number for my six-foot-two 260-pound frame
I would guess you are using regular "spray paint"? You might want to look into ceramic paint or Gel-coat. Gel-coat is the stuff they use on boat hulls....very wear resistant.
You could take something like a bungy cord and use them to move parts as you move so they act like a second muscle, or my brain is just having a stroke. Do you think that could work?
What is your favourite printer and which one would you recommend? I had a QIDI Tecnology Dual extruder which died after about 14 months. I want to get another printer, looking for something with a print capability of 450x450x450.
Hey just curious , been trying to figure out how to get the back to sit right, how did you make the pieces that rest on your shoulders ? I thought it was rafts but looks too clean for that lol
On your helmet at the back you have two white bits, i got the helmet by Akira like you recommended, those slots were empty, did you fill them and paint them white?
Hey Frank I have a question and perhaps it’s been answered I’m a video I haven’t watched yet but I was wondering how is each piece physically attached to your body. I’m a Star Wars fan looking to build clone armor and I know that’s commonly connected with a harness attached throughout the parts. But I can’t really find a mock up of that harness. I was just wondering if you have any ideas on how one would get all of the parts connected on the body. I know iron man armor is different but considering it’s full body armor I assume theres some similarities.
Hey there frank I was wondering since Halloween is coming up would you be able too make a pyramid head helmet and how much would you sell it too me and my dad 😁😊. By the way I love your vids😊🤙🏽 #love #Halloween
Thank you so much for all the info! I’m not sure if you answered this yet but how do you handle printing large parts that either take more than a kg spool or start off with a spool that’s not full and will run out? Do you set a timer to wake up and check/splice a new reel or is there some other method?
@@FranklyBuilt thank you for taking to time to reply. My printer is older and I had no idea run out sensors were a thing until your reply. I have since found a thread on how to add some wires and change some code to add in that function. Thank you so much!!!
Hey I have a good question if you use glow-in-the-dark filament and paint over it lightly will it still be glow-in-the-dark and have a color change just wondering if you ever did that before because I'm about to try it out
Glow in the dark filament glows because it contains phosphors. Phosphors absorb energy from light sources (like the sun or artificial light) and then radiate the energy back as another light form. That’s what creates the glow. In order to “charge up” the glow in the dark filament, it needs to be exposed to a light source. I’d imagine that if you paint over it, even lightly, it will dilute the light from reaching it, therefore will lessen (if not completely eliminate) the glow that it returns.
Yes I understand what you're saying there I'm just trying to go for a different aspect yo a light just like a burning Ember even though it's shaded type of effect
Ive been building my ghostbusters cosplay now for a little over a year. Comfort is key since the pack weighs ALOT!!! Great video. Check out my pack on my channel
There's something so badass about having an iron man helmet in your carry on bag
Those scratches are just extra added detail
I like to think of scratches as like battle scars or signs of once being into a battle
That's what I do every time my Hover board gets scratched
Battle damage
Man. You’re hands down the best channel.
Learning a ton. Thanks for that. Subbed. Trying to learn so I can print my 2 kids busts of iron man and spider man.

Great vid. Lots of learning there. You didn’t spend a lot of time on the abs - looks like they may have been the new abs with slightly more mobility?
Nope same Abs as before

Lego Infinity Gauntlet in the far left. Do I also see the Lego Marvel Minifig series?
I see you are a man of culture as well
The clip after the credits is the cutest thing ever 😍😂🥲
For real! I can only imagine how proud his dad would be, keep up the awesome work dude! 🤘🏼

Iron Man: "I love you 3000" ;-)

More freedom!!😂😂😂😂im actually dying
Amazing! I think I love about conventions is that u met other cosplayers and get to share tips and methods on how they tackle their suit builds

I'm in Australia and I really should be asleep 😂
You try cutting the neck into pieces and line with either eva foam, Velcro or perhaps a mixture of both

Gonna try that next actually
I love the new paint so much! Just one question: why are the lights blue?
That’s the colour they are in the movie
@@FranklyBuilt oh, ok. That makes sense. Do you prefer the lights a more bluish color or plain white?
So cool watching someone as passionate as you and your need to teach others!

I wish I had the time to do that before hand haha I finished painting the suit. Packed it up and flew to Cali. Wasn’t much time for final testing
holy crap, awesome suit man! im gonna try to make my own suit someday
That’s awesome. Sadly had to work but I love SVCC but maybe next year

Wow you are amazing! Thanks to your videos I purchased my first 3D printer
How about Ninja flex filament to make the neck piece
INSANE COSPLAYS, so good
Great video frank 👍

I have to say that your work is pretty incredible, great job
Hey Frank
Where can I find the helper arm and kit for the MK39 helmet? I just don't want to print the wrong one.
They don’t make a specific one. You need to fit another
The fact that you have over 246k subs and still check comments shows you are the G.O.A.T
Well I appreciate that man
@@FranklyBuilt holy crap that was fast lol
@@FranklyBuilt also no problem i was shocked that 3d printing is as easy as it is thank you for inspiring me to buy an ender 3!
Welp "when you got a goat, you gotta go"

I’m imagining that Stan Winston Studios are checking their inventory, amazingly well made.
I would guess you are using regular "spray paint"? You might want to look into ceramic paint or Gel-coat. Gel-coat is the stuff they use on boat hulls....very wear resistant.
Great work
Your wear areas: PPF = paint protection film for auto paint.
As a Mountain Biker, I was watching the bit with the paint-wear issues and first thought was "helicopter tape" - basically same kind of thing.
You could take something like a bungy cord and use them to move parts as you move so they act like a second muscle, or my brain is just having a stroke. Do you think that could work?
I wish i could go to more comicons, sadly i just dont have the money..... I only get to go to the very local one

Thank you!
Hey Frank, you mentioned your Arc reactor was Punished props, did you mean you used the same method he did in his video on his channel?
It looks so cool 😎
This is just incredible 😃
You should make a sound track for the repulsors
Nice video. Glad you and your suit survived the Con.
Hi again
Hey just curious , been trying to figure out how to get the back to sit right, how did you make the pieces that rest on your shoulders ? I thought it was rafts but looks too clean for that lol
It’s just rafts
why don't you use flex-able rubbery plastic filament
Can’t paint it the same
Try an athletic knee sleeve and see how that goes!
On your helmet at the back you have two white bits, i got the helmet by Akira like you recommended, those slots were empty, did you fill them and paint them white?
Lights
Amazing suit! Very nicely done.
looks like fun.. great job!
Could I print the neck and shins in Ninjaflex?
Sure but it would be hard to paint them the same way

Hey frankly built, do you sell some of your helmets, and how much does it cost you to make a suit?
Sometimes helmets yeah
AAAAAH YIU GOT TO MEET ODIN
SOOoo COOool !!!

I did not :/
@@FranklyBuilt There's always the next con 😉
That looks awesome.
How was sitting while in the suit?
What blue did you used for your Captain America Shield please
Some rando metallic blue I had
I have to admit, that suit looks great!! What do you imagine a suit like that would retail for, if, indeed, you could ever buy something like that?
Thanks!! Usually suits like this go anywhere from $5000-10000 depending on features
How do you print those?
Have you always lived in the US?
Nope
Nice

No I’m sorry I don’t but thank you!

You should make zabuzas giant sword from naruto
hola muy bueno el video
Very cool.
So now that you went and had fun, what are your plans with the suit now ? HINT !

I don’t have any haha

how much would it cost to make one of these. and then how much to make the helmet.
It only cost me $1000 ish to make
