It doesn't matter what you did Doug, don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS... and a Motec system and exhaust.
Hey Doug, not sure if you have perfected your box volume measurement...if you haven't, an easy way to get it is to fill the custom box with something like saw dust and then poor it out into something like a square cardboard box that will be easier to measure accurately.
Believe it or not, styro peanuts come in Cu Ft measurements, like 1 cu ft per box. Used it on 2 large dual chamber enclosures that had no flat surfaces. Used the bendable foam panels used to make consoles and such and fiberglass both inside and outside. Worked well Mags
If you need to eliminate the port for the focal woofer you can reuse the port layers by just trimming them to match the unported layers. Will save a lot of wood and machining time on the router
The chrome def goes better overall. If you throw some red stitching to outline the pumps on the trunk liner floor or something like that would help bring out those dope Neo magnets on the woofer motor. That motor looks so much nicer than the JL. That Focal is screaming to be mounted inverse, its gorgeous.
Doug get a bunch of gallon jugs and then stuff them in there then use gallon zip lock bags to stuff the gaps. Use an imperial to metric conversion to convert 1 gal to 3.8 liter buy a 2 liter of soda, fill your sub with the soda. Subtract the remaining soda from the total initial volume of 2 litres. 3.8 times total gals plus ziplocks minus a sub full of soda and the conversion of litres to cubic cm to inches to the third power. I attended college physics...twice
It doesn't matter what you did Doug! I have an idea for you, you should hook the LED's up to the trunk light switch, that way whenever you open the trunk to show off the pumps and box, the lights come on automatically for you.
And now back by critical acclaim, White Rider The Thundaturd chronicles! Its been a long anticipated wait since our we've seen our hero Shite Rider and Lady B with Baby Smilena The Loveable who Kills you with laffs & giggles! Stay tuned for more Amplified presents White Rider the Thundaturd adventure Stay Eazy
im sure you know this already because your a mastermind and all but I figured I would remind you lol... you can still use the sections you made for the ported layers, just fix a board to the CNC with screws so it cant move (I wouldn't trust the tape for this...) then cut a fixture in to it where the ported layer will sit inside, then clamp it down with some toggle / fixture clamps where you wont be machining. then make a quick program to cut the area where the ported section joins the regular profile. bam, out comes a sealed section, no need to make new layers...
Just load some sheet work neatly into the flat edges of the internals of the port bru... Bringing down the vent area (for the same length), until you reach your desired tuning @ the volume you do have internally. Vent area is overrated lol. Keeping the smaller internal volume will force the sub to behave in the upper part of it's range. It'll sound more immediate. You'll get low end with the correct tuning regardless and the car interior will bring up the low end for you. A cab with a rising response will perform flat in a car interior. Anyway I thought you were going to wall her dude? xx
I like a good sealed box, I like that tight punchy bass. I built my very first box recently, its sealed and nowhere near as fancy as this, it's a rectangular box covered in grey carpet but I didn't build it to be seen (thankfully😉). At 42L (including the driver displacement) it's the perfect size for the sub and it hits HARD, I'm more than happy with it.
I would like to take the time to point out all the defects in your new box , but i can't see any! You're a god damn genius Doug! you did it again but it doesn't matter what you did anyways
Always great watching your videos. Thank God you aren’t running that POS JL sub. Focal was an excellent choice. Beautiful and great sounding. Oh and that box is top notch man.
Great choice.in swapping woofers. Ive never been a fsn of the w7. It was overhyped even in 2001 or 2002 when it was.released...for a gazillion dollars local retail. Everyone "had a buddy" with 2 JL13w7s that shattered his back window. Everybody had that one friend. But then go to an actual spl conpetition and JLW7s were getting smoked by cheaper.woofers from day one. And nobody ever saw any glass actually break in person. Anyway with Dougs builds being major SQ oriented the W7 was never a bad choice but brands like Focal had woofers out there that are just amazing. I really hope in the next build that theres a more groundpounder based setup involved. Both bigger power...and more cone areas.
You do have some pretty dope ideas and designs but the one thing Mr. Fab kitchen has over you is he actually FINISHES projects bahaha . All jokes aside , I love your show
Speaking of battery rack. In the F150 put the second battery in the bottom front of the radiator. Weld a support bar across the frame behind the bumper. It’s kind of hard to explain but I hope you get an idea of what I’m saying lol.
I wish you would make a work shirt for sale. Like the thrasher shirt design, stiched on a heavier duty work shirt, with a pocket. Maybe have the sleeves ripped off for full thrasher effect.
Eddie - Right!? He showed us it was just the bumper in that video, but my guess is he was actually calculating box volume by hand with an abacus on the way home one day and totaled the bitch.
Just use the flush trim bit to turn those port layers into standard layers. Only feel like I might need to say this cos I can imagine Doug jut buying a whole bunch of birch and cutting more layers.
Could always use the airbag method like you did in a past episode, or wait maybe Russell might say the math is off and its gonna twist as soon as the explosion of bass happens from russell's fart.
Fill sub box with packing peanuts..as much as you can fit.. Then use an empty box and dump the peanuts in it and it should be easier to calculate volume
Doug, you gotta do us big guys a favor and make the explosion shirts in bigger sizes than 3x. I'm out here trying to rep soundman and amplified looking like Tommy boy. Hook us up, brother.
Doesn't CT sounds sponsor this show? Get another sub that'll work with the airspace or do 2 or 3 beefy little 8's! That would look sick next to the pumps!! 🔊🔊🔊
If you’re going to buy a new woofer anyway, why not get one that will work with the ported box. The box design is way cool; kind of a shame to get rid of that port.
I'm sitting here watching this video, learning about specs and subwoofers and all so penis cut outs which I need about 10 of those so I can send them as a birthday gift to all my friends
So your going for SQ sealed box. Kool! Rip that lil mule more often maing-Rip IT!! Just orderd a 390 amp alt. ya c'mon DB you know you wanna throw some 100 spoke triple gold D'z and curb feelers. Bill.
I know you’ve already made all that progress but you could use the same design and make it have more depth and accomplish the volumn you need with minimul size increase. Will just have to reposition your pumps a little.
maybe bring the rear cylinders up through the bottom of the box via stacked o-ring seals like we use on sportbike forks, so you can get enough volume? you'd have to start from scratch...but honestly...how f@ckin amazing would it be to see them lit *INSIDE* the box?
The "Audio System H12Evo" would be a great Subwoofer for your Box!!! Or the "Gladen SQL 12 Extreme" would be also nice. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 my friend!
How long until you get these hats shipped out? Ordered a hat and a poster about a month ago. The poster showed up over a week ago but the hat still says its in pre-shipment
SoundmanCA do you plan on doing fitteds?? I need a soundman hat. But I have a big ass melon, snapbacks looks dumb as shit on me. Haha Maybe a preorder for fitted so you aren't stuck with a bunch if sizes in stock.
8:45 The first Bernard to finish a project in Doug's shop.
It doesn't matter what you did Doug, don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS... and a Motec system and exhaust.
Kevin Morris hes a cop!! 😂😎
Lmfaoooo 😂 have u seen the parody version of it where he orders turbo whistles nd shit
Harry, I need NOS.
Somebody put in the wrench time!!
Kevin Morris sup hippy!!!!

That box is coming along nicely. Inspiring me to get off my ass and build the box I need to.
If you need to eliminate the port for the focal woofer you can reuse the port layers by just trimming them to match the unported layers. Will save a lot of wood and machining time on the router
Keano finally a response with some common sense
To me this is the obvious solution.
Or be lazy and call it an internal brace just by moving the port layers to the middle.
Would look cool staggered like a frickn ribcage. Just cut another end without a port hole.
when the guy tripped coming out of the 7-11 I lost it I fell of the toilet!🤣
Your daughter has some skills too Doug, she will take over one day as you did for your father. Great fam!
I don’t care what those other audio channels say about you, you’re still a B+ in my book.
At least a solid C lol

The heat from the pumps is gonna warp the box DOUG!
Could cause a spark!
and ignite the fumes!
💥
Baby girl is too cute mang, got two of my own. They are awesome!

Need to get the o.g. guys back for another 'reunion' show. Introduce the new viewers to what drew us long time viewers in. 😎
Doug's daughter gonna be like just like him when she grows up you can tell already with how she acts, especially in this episdoe :D LOL

Jerry M. Holy fucking shit Ive never laughed so fucking hard at a comment, well done my good sir

just got my shirts in today and they do rock

You are an alien Dougie. You always talking about probing things.
Hi Doug. Thank you for the nice video! Keep them coming. My life depends on them. Hard enough to take a dump twice a week now..
actually according to the Focal spec sheet. your box is perfect for ported pending what FQ your turned to
Genuinely impressed by the cup tower
😁 @16:36 The mule farted ! 😂😂
my shirt shipped out today, on the way to nz!

That new piece you made is going to twist
And yes, do a collab or challenge with Steve Meade !!!
You do have some pretty dope ideas and designs but the one thing Mr. Fab kitchen has over you is he actually FINISHES projects bahaha . All jokes aside , I love your show
When Doug slid back into frame 😆😆😆😆😆
That’s a cool box....
@8:45 just made my day. How precious is that?! *Wouldja look at dis... heeeehheheehe...* Ed Bassmaster voice...
You should set up your insert mounting screws for the focal and jl sub in case one blows and you have to change it out😉yw 👋🏻
Your girl got skills.!
Speaking of battery rack. In the F150 put the second battery in the bottom front of the radiator. Weld a support bar across the frame behind the bumper. It’s kind of hard to explain but I hope you get an idea of what I’m saying lol.
You could use sheets of acrylic in between the plywood. Might look cool.
I wish you would make a work shirt for sale. Like the thrasher shirt design, stiched on a heavier duty work shirt, with a pocket. Maybe have the sleeves ripped off for full thrasher effect.
8:50 I thought you were going to say, " have you heard of Godzilla?" 😂
looking good
Ordering T-shirt, clicking to purchase {EXPLOSION!}
This episode was funny 😆
YOU STILL DON'T HAVE UR F150 BACK 😲😲😲😲
Eddie - Right!? He showed us it was just the bumper in that video, but my guess is he was actually calculating box volume by hand with an abacus on the way home one day and totaled the bitch.
Bruh wtf only Russell's family members have sealed box enclosures, ported all the way Doug!
Just use the flush trim bit to turn those port layers into standard layers.
Only feel like I might need to say this cos I can imagine Doug jut buying a whole bunch of birch and cutting more layers.
Dude I got to ja e that... WHAT!!!! SOUND
I gotta get one of them I love rafas mom stickers for my frs stick it on the wing
It definitely matters what you did Doug!!
Good shit today
Can't wait for the shirt to arrive
Cant wait to watch you redo the whole box in Baltic Birch 😂
Now I can use that 13w7 for the acura build, have the port coming thru the rear deck
Box looks awesome and small but if the math is correct 🤣. Love the new shirts.
Could always use the airbag method like you did in a past episode, or wait maybe Russell might say the math is off and its gonna twist as soon as the explosion of bass happens from russell's fart.
When you said 1.37 cu ft I about sprayed coffee all over my screen!
Shiiiiiiitttttt, that basket will buff right out!
The chrome matches up with the hydraulics too.
I was at a big car meet outside of st louis and ran in to a guy with one of your shirts on! We talked shit about your string theory!
nice abs homes
This stuff is hilarious, subscribed.
Doug is to RUclips as Howard stern is to radio.
Doesn't CT sounds sponsor this show? Get another sub that'll work with the airspace or do 2 or 3 beefy little 8's! That would look sick next to the pumps!! 🔊🔊🔊
You and Steve meade should do a collaboration or challenge or something
Steve's way better then Doug ever will be.
Matthew Reimer Steve has more important things to do like stand on his speakers while feeding them 8k... SMH...
Scotty Kilmers and Doug should have a show down
Shit... all Doug has to do is wrap up Mark from fab kitchen like a 12 inch cold cut from Subway and that’s enough to distract fat Steve for hours.
David Moon lmao this comment had me dying 😂😂 Thanks Bro
Look like she going to be following your footsteps.#soundwomen
Love your videos dude... Your next project you need to turbo the mule
i think after this build you need to get that dash done on the mule! that shit is so dope i wanna see it done!!!
Another great episode as always
If you’re going to buy a new woofer anyway, why not get one that will work with the ported box. The box design is way cool; kind of a shame to get rid of that port.

Nice 👕
That Focal is gonna look good in the box! Send the mangled sub to Rafa's mom, tell her it's a butt plug. HA!
Put a jl 10" in it to compensate for the lack of air space.
So what about possibly just using a CT subwoofer ? That shit could be dope !
The box, THE BOX!
I know you’ve already made all that progress but you could use the same design and make it have more depth and accomplish the volumn you need with minimul size increase. Will just have to reposition your pumps a little.
It’s too bad ..the no sub didn’t work out for you Doug ...but that focal should be a more responsive sub for the acoustics of the thunder chicken
astheticly speaking, the Focal woofer fits FAR BETTER to the theme! chrome matches pumps AND more pump clearance!
😂 Best comedy show on the net.
The slurpie kid though 😂
maybe bring the rear cylinders up through the bottom of the box via stacked o-ring seals like we use on sportbike forks, so you can get enough volume? you'd have to start from scratch...but honestly...how f@ckin amazing would it be to see them lit *INSIDE* the box?
Yo DB, you have shown us how to make use of all the space under the rear deck👈😎👉. Thank you bro,✌️out from Modesto,CA
Damn, Doug, you gonna let this fool call you Douche Bag?
😂😂😂
A focal? You are doing you new box a disservice. Skar. Sundown. Anything but that.
Should of did 2 ct sounds meso 8s..they do sponsor you right😆😆😆
The "Audio System H12Evo" would be a great Subwoofer for your Box!!!
Or the "Gladen SQL 12 Extreme" would be also nice.
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 my friend!
Id buy that jl
Doug, you have to do a ported enclosure! How else are the midgets supposed to get in and out of the disco?
I'll second the wires vote. 13" daytons all the way
All I know is..... your daughter Kerfed that wall of cups better than Russell can Kerf anything LOL
I don't get the subs nr / video, work quality ratio of this channel. You deserve at least a 10x subscribers. Keep it up 💪👌👍
Dude your little girl looks like Russell. Are you sure she is yours? Russell isn’t your mailman is he?
With all that Chrome surrounded by midgets dancing, I think the trunk needed a "Focal" point anyway. Looking good White Rider...
What you did there, I saw it!
HOLLY!
your daughter got so big!
Hey Doug! Are you going to leave the engine bay open on the Mule, or do you have plans to put a fiberglass lid on the top? I think that'd be cool.
You should make the trim piece out of steel and chrome plate it.
How long until you get these hats shipped out? Ordered a hat and a poster about a month ago. The poster showed up over a week ago but the hat still says its in pre-shipment
The new batch of hats just arrived to the shop yesterday!!! :)))
Jon Bradshaw Raffas mom is working as fast as she can bro!
SoundmanCA do you plan on doing fitteds?? I need a soundman hat. But I have a big ass melon, snapbacks looks dumb as shit on me. Haha Maybe a preorder for fitted so you aren't stuck with a bunch if sizes in stock.
chris miller they are flex fits not snapbacks. I have a huge old head too. I got the L/XL flex fit. I'll update you on how it fits when it comes in
Jon Bradshaw l/xl flex's are usually TIGHT!.. lol I'm like a 7 7/8-8 fitted... I'm telling ya this is a big melon.
