@@teem5642 I used a spray wax or enhancer as I dry my vehicle. Apply in 2’ sections, in the shade with clean microfiber towels. Give it brief buff, turning the towel after each application for even coverage. Don’t allow the most to dry on the paint surface.

The only reason I don't clean my car to the point where it looks like a new one is because of some a**holes living in my area, who would scratch nice looking or clean cars when you have parked in a public place and leave your car unattended...
In my opinion that is 100% how it's done you can't get any more perfect prep than that. Only thing guys look at the paint carefully to to determine if you need a compound or if a Polish alone will do the job
I was just about to say that it may not always be necessary to compound heavy cutting, and always if possible try to check the thickness of the paint. No hate or anything he done a mighty fine job. Just not every car needs the heavy cutting.
Hot tip....use the iron remover as your clay lubricant, because it's also removes limescale. This will mean you use less iron remover and get get a better result.
Pro tip: give your car to a detailing shop for polishing and the you do the ceramic coating at home. This way you can save a ton of money while getting a perfect finishing.

If I were to have a detailing business I wouldn’t charge less than $1200 for a job like this otherwise you aren’t making much money. Also depends on area and cost of living.
Remeber read the product instructions I let mine flash for 3 minutes before removing when it’s cool outside because otherwise the product wipes right off leaving the car unprotected
Negative ghost rider. That active ceramic ingredient bonds almost immediately to the surface. What you’re wiping off and removing is the liquid ‘carrier’. This is not your grandpas car wax we are talking about.

Reality is unless you're wet sanding you're removing an imperceptible amount of clear and although clear coats are getting thinner it's still not relevant. We should be telling people the truth that they aren't going to hurt anything so they feel confident enough to do it. I can understand that detailers don't know the vehicles history and have to be on the safe side but it's getting ridiculous in the industry this fear of removing too much clear coat. Unless you fall asleep with a DA on the paint you're not going to hurt anything.
Does rubbing the iron remover into the paint cause scratching from rubbing loose contaminants into the paint? Just wondering, I’m sure it’s little more effective in removing the iron though
It is likely that this method will cause micro scratches. But, the purpose is to remove all contamination ready for the first stage of paint correction. It's not recommended to start paint correction before completely removing all contamination, you will ruin your pads too. Any marring or swirls caused by the decon stage will be removed in the paint correction stage

Then 2 days after you have done this, it rains and all the dust and crap in the rain settles on your car. When it dries you have a car covered in dust spots so it's time to wash the car again!! Repeat.

They also have a better hydrophobic effect than wax or sealant and leave your paint with protection but without the additional color altering properties like wax. If you're paying good money for ceramic coating, why would you use an inferior product over it? If you really want that extra protection, pay for a good one, wash your car properly every week, follow the instructions and if you really want another layer, use a maintenance ceramic spray.
Don't think it's a good idea to agitate the iron remover chances are you gonna scratch your paint with brake dust and other metals that's on the car other than that perfect
Get it done professionally... consumer 'ceramic' car products are difficult to work with, especially on a black car/truck. Or simply wax your vehicle every 3 months... it takes less than an hour, it's inexpensive, and it protects the paint.
@@ohboy2592 would u recommend one, because the two that I've tried have been just abysmal to work with. They were sprays, so maybe that had something to do with it, but it was not manageable with a black truck. If there's one I should try, please advise. Thank you.
@@keithmichael5839 I have used turtle wax hybrid solution ceramic spray wax and their seal n shine. Both are easy to apply and offer great shine and protection. I like the UV for summer. I think a good carnuba wax is hard to beat on shine though. On daily drivers I got a good 9-11 months of protection. Literally spray one pump per panel, wipe off and then buff. Took me 10-15 minutes to do my truck. Both of these are sprays. I didn’t believe the hype until I tried them.

ever tried a synthetic decontamination towel? way more surface area than an actual clay and it wont scratch like clay with proper lubrication .

forgot ipa and you can't wipe off ceramic coating immediately. you need at least 90 seconds to flash first. don't misguide people.

It's 3 days to fully cure not 24 hours.

@@keithmichael5839 Armor Shield IX, Carpro Cquartz & Crystal Serum Light - all 3 of those are great and easy to work with ceramic coatings.

You don't need a polishing machine. Elbow grease works fine. But if you want the best result, you better open up the wallet.
