yeah i agree. i follow katara's story in the comics, the story after aang defeated ozai. katara's waterbending looks way way way more impressive than the cartoon series.
Korra mastered Water at the age of 12. Katara trained her since she was 4. Korra would simply win the fact she a warrior. She can keep tanking until she takes Katara out with a big blow, Katara isn't a durable fighter like Korra is who has the best tanking feats alongside Zuko and Avatar Kyoshi, and Wan. Katara will get worned out, and Korra is more agile fighter.
Katara wins a water bending contest fine, but there's no way in hell she beats Korra, Korra can basically hold her own even without bending she clears katara on every physical area Korra's far more durable and stronger, far more agile and nible, Not to mention the difference in experience. Once Korra gets close it'll be over in an instant.
@@iisswhoiiss true but it's not often that Korra uses waterbending in her fights, I also think that Katara has a emotional attachment and connection with her waterbending that makes it so powerful. Korra could overpower Katara with her physical strength and aggressive style but Katara could maintain her emotional control and utilize her experience and creativity effectively to win. (Srry if it's too much info, I rlly love this show and learning and seeing other ppls opinion's about it is nice)
@@iisswhoiiss, while that is true, those weren't with much strategy, mainly brute force, which wouldn't do well against Katara. Also, they both would know each other's tactics.
@iisswhoiiss Not to mention, Korra learned from a version of Katara with an entire lifetime more experience than what she had in ATLA. Or the fact that by the end of ATLA, Katara was still an amateur and was primarily self-taught, whereas Korra is a master.
@@J3el_0 yes but she was still a master since the end of the first season and by the end of the series, she was already regarded as the best waterbender in the world.
Mmm appreciate the discussions and work put into this video, but you really undersold Korra. Saying Katara is the more tactical thinkiner and adaptive is a bit wild. Not that those arent strengths of hers, but Korra literally embodies these strengths. You had to nitpick a scene where Korra didnt immediately adapt to Tarrlock's attacks to say shes "predictible" and "exposable." Ignoring how she literally adapts to said attack the next second and destroys him. *There are so many fights where Korra outhinks her opponents yet you don’t highlight them* ??? Could've easily done the same thing to Katara by showing her get countered by Pakku in their entire fight. Concluding that Katara is "wayyy more measured and is a different beast" is a real stretch. Your assessment of Katara was getting near heacanon if im being honest. Idk if that just made for a better video or you decided you wanted Katara to win but some things said against Korra and for Katara was pretty forced. I'm not looking forward to any video in the future with Korra if "shes a brute force non thinker of a fighter" is gonna be the rhetoric forced on her.
He is right through, not that Korra doesn't have those qualities but Katara is more tactical and definitely more adaptive than korra. And in terms of Waterbending Katara is more measured, although Korra is not just a brute force so I'll agree with you on that one.
@@j.43 I think they both have that strength applied in different ways i.e. Katara using a lot of fluid movement to redirect or counter attacks vs Korra practicing neutral Jing (wait for the moment to strike) to make a hard counter and finding openings to various enemies in MANY ways. Not to mention the times she's been put in impossible situations and consistently fought more dangerous/skilled opponents than Katara did and outplayed them. That's really what tips the scales in my mind especially when it comes to adapting like she flat out has adapted to more enemies that Katara (Kuvira, Tarrlock, Amon). Its just certainly not to the point that Korra would look like a moron facing Katara like he insinuated nor would it be the other way around.
@@j.43 yeah no the enemies korra had to face compared to katara isn’t even measurable.. the enemies korra faced were literal master mind geniuses and were literally 10x more powerful and challenging. Korra is way more adaptable.
Korra would win honestly, she the damn avatar shown to master almost every sub element of Water bending, adding to her having Katara as a teacher at her peak knowledge of water bending gives her slight adavantage espeaslly she out paces her, durable fighter and shown to use techniques Katara hasn't used before. Katara isn't durable and only takes one big blow to take her out. Korra has fallen from cliffs and mountains, took on mercury, had her soul ripped out, resisted blood bending by brute force, trapped in icy fissure while being crushed, and tanked Vaatu beam. You think Katara is gonna tank anything close to what Korra has done? Not even close, I'll give Katara credit for skills and techniques, this is just another perspective of this fight nobody wants to think about due to nostalsgia within fan base, espeasally Katara and Toph fans being the most toxic fanbase. Katara can keep hitting Korra but she'll just keep getting up until Katara is exhausted.
@@urMobilo That is Water bending. Korra has raw power, skills and knowledge gained from peak Katara. Korra is more agile, stronger, durable fighter. @@newhybrid101 And Korra learned from 80+ year old Katara: at a level far beyond what we've ever seen - a literal lifetime of experience. By default, Korra wins; we shouldn't even have to debate feats.
@@hanburgundy4317 even at 14 katara was more versatile and more well rounded then korra, plus she knows every sub form of waterbending exept for spirit bending, and yes korra has the power advantage but i dont think people actually understand how powerful katara is, i mean if you look at the painted lady, she literally must have summoned a giant wave for the water to even reach the top, and that factory was huge btw,so katara really isnt as weak as people make her out to be
I believe that, WITHOUT the avatar state, Aang OR Korra can NOT defeat Katara. Katara clears, what are we even talking about. Even if we dont take into account the fact that she knows 2 whole techniques above Korra (Healing and Bloodbending), she still would win. Let's be real, Korras best element is fire...by far. She fights like a firebender and uses fire the most. Katara fights just like how water moves- adapting and being slippery. Not to mention she has pulled some insane 200iq moves that Korra would walk right into, because of her ''hit first, think later'' fighting style.
Nope korra uses more firebending but her best feats are with water, her best element Also korra can also heal, she can spirtbending( if it is used on humans it can destroy the soul) and she broke out from Amon's bloodbending
Korra knows healing, and Katara would never bloodbend. Korra also is the most adaptable bender we've seen. She literally counters most attacks thrown at her. But yes, she does fight like a firebender...which means Katara is getting her face kicked in when Korra gets close
@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 Korras healing does not get even close to Kataras. Also we are talking about a waterbend all out fight meaning a theoretical scenario , so Katara not using bloodbending is literally a disadvantage for no reason. It isnt an avatar state or another element so she has no reason not to use it ( again - hypothetical all out scenario).
@@moonlight8451 No one looks at a theoretical debate about a character and then twists their morals just so they can win. Katara only ever bloodbneded when it was once needed and when she wanted to kill. She would not do that randomly just like Korra wouldn't throw an ice spike through her head.
@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 By that logic, no one is winning cause they wouldnt fight in the first place. We are talking about a scene where both characters HAVE to go all out. Disregarding Kataras bloodbending is foolish.
The amount of people that think that Korra can beat Katara in a water bending fight is crazy, but if Korra can use all elements and the avatar state then she definitely wins, but if it only water bending then Katara destroys Korra
Although Korra was more powerful with water bending, Katara was far more determined, skilled, and versatile with her waterbending, Korra does not even use water that much and she has more of an earth and firebender personality, but Katara embodies her element and she is very fluid so Katara destroys Korra in a water bending fight
Korra freezing that triad guy's head and then kicking him onto the car is my favourite ATLOK moment. And she had been talking trash all along then backed it up nicely. Anyway, I think Korra would win this fight: she's well versed in both the traditional and modern bending forms, her opponent list overpowers anything Katara has faced (though that obviously is because she is the main protagonist of the show), and she's awfully durable - she's not a one shot knockout opponent. All she has to do is land a strong attack and we know Katara isn't getting back up.
How often does one successfully land a strong attack on Katara? How often does Korra even land a strong attack on anyone. Yes, she's full of strong attacks but she hits her target less than 50% of the time. Katara will get hit and not get back up? Did you watch the final fight of ATLA Season 2??
I just realized Katara never bends water with her feet always using her hands. That's why Mei and Ty Lee always block her hands and Katara can't bend water anymore... On the other hand, Korra can bend water using her feet, if her hands are blocked she can still attack with her feet
Well, I agree with you on this, but at the end of Season 4, Korra has become much more mature, which helps reduce her aggression. I hope to see more of Korra after this because I'm sure she will become the best waterbender
We’ve repeatedly seen single benders body, Korra. It’s actually embarrassing for the avatar. I remember when Korra was airing people were begging for another avatar to take over her body because she was constantly embarrassing, the avatar name
@@sarickacampbell2642korra never gets bodied easily unless she’s nerfed/handicapped but korra haters refuse to see that. Even plot is against her THE MAIN CHARACTER
I don’t know why people act like the Avatar is the strongest in all of their elements, like Aang would’ve been clobbered if he only had earth or fire. Korra is the avatar but when it just comes to her waterbending she’s strong, but she her skill is comparable or worse than Amon, Ming Hua, Katara, Unalaq, Tonraq, and a lot of the other masters we see
To be honest, I would say they are relatively even but if I had to give ONLY ONE victor I’d say Korra. 1:22 Like this is 17 year old Korra making a spout bigger than Pakku with full moon. 3:44 Her fighting pretty evenly with Unalaq adds to my point.
Nope Korra beat unaloq twice and there wasn't anything even about the fight, granted she had access to other elements, the only time she had issues was with unavatuu, This battle completely ignored durability. Korra is severely underrated she's more experienced than katara and has combated more intelligent foes. Korra isn't half as rash as early season zuko, therefore there's nothing for katara to take advantage of, korras brute is enough to keep katara at bay, long enough for Korra to end the fight with vastly superior h2h.
@@CK-Animator you do realize that katara has far less energy And would get tired much quicker Like you wonder why Korra would go for big moves? It is because she has the strength to do them and she has the durability to tank yours
This argument you made it very skewed, you ignored katara's weaknesses such as her durability and speed Ignored that korra has faced up against waterbending masters I would put higher than katara (unaluk) and shown she is very adaptable and a sharp/quick thinker ("turning someone's attack into a trap" like what you credit katara for, but also forgot korra does it too) Ignored Korra's battle IQ and strength (so she is not going to tire out as you put it, she can go the distance) and even then, she is not going to make big moves that don't land and continue with the same move (like you saw two instance where she made big moves that her opponents were dodging and immediately switched with a move so large it was a sure fire hit (but in your books that is not adaptability, or control of the fight, when she literally changes the terrain of the battle just so she lands that hit, and boy do they land)) And worst of all you leaned heavily into sterotypes and false profiles of Korra like "she's all punch", "she's brutish and straight forward" when you showed clips of her quick thinking proving otherwise Ignored the fact that even when she is the initial agressor in a fight, she is not some mindless brute that would be rampaging without a target, tiring herself out, like she has never even done this but you seem to not understand that when you praise someone's waterbending technique for being "efficient" it means "get the job done with the least effort and least amount of moves" so no to when you completely flip and represent that person as a rampaging brute that "katara would wait to tire herself out" (like this isn't korra with ptsd going against kuvira, if she missed the first time, she is not missing the next time) Even worst you didn't even acknowledge that season 1 and season 4 korra are not the same person (like for someone that claims to watch and understand the show, you didn't demonstrate that in this video)
@@MindBursterz yeah you brought some of them up but never talked about how they affect the battle Like Korra's efficient use of waterbending is brought up in the beginning, but it is used more as a passing comment than a factor to consider in the battle But my grievance is more of the things you didn't bring up like how katara is also a temperamental characters that literally runs into things without a plan (think her fight with the swamp monster, she literally charges at hu at first and is knocked back), and how Korra has the stamina and durability to withstand any attack katara makes And how if katara goes for that passive leading role in a Battle she would be overwhelmed by Korra shear bending power (just like it has played out in much of Korra's fights; her fight with Tarrlok, and desna and eska come to mind) And I personally don't have any grievance with you, and I am honestly a fan of your content and has watched all your avatar videos It's just sad to me how you characterized Korra in the fight breakdown (which honestly feels modelled specifically to simplify a highly contentious battle) Korra has demonstrated multiple times to be a quick thinker, that learns quickly in a fight (think of her fight with Tarrlok, her escape from Tarrlok and the equalist capture, her fight with unaluk (where she learned from her failure mid fight to not defend his attack but turned his attack against him)) And she is not a straight forward fighter as most guys would like her to be, just for the purpose of simplifying these duels When honestly it is not some classic brawn vs brute because both of them are brawns and brutes to varying degrees Katara is more tactical thanKorra, but Korra doesn't lack all intelligence to switch up her tactic or see a very clear bait (basically Korra is not stupid) And katara is not some tactical badass most of the time and given the opportunity katara ditches all skill and going for big moves but Korra can just go bigger and more often The only difference is that when faced with an overwhelming force katara is going to switch from big to small precise attacks while when Korra is seeing the fight is taking too long she is going to call the ocean to drown her opponent or split the ground in two, but then when faced with opponents like katara that can keep up and give substantial counters (unaluk) she goes for reverse counters, and tries closing distance so she can use her martial arts (not that she would be rampaging till she tires like some dog) I don't know if I got my points out clearly, but I like the first two section of the video, but the fight breakdown you gave seems highly dependent on Korra doing everything wrong (rampaging like a dog) and katara doing everything right by some how surviving the rampage, but consistently being on the defense and evading (things that are not her greatest strengths) and still conserving all her energy to deliver substantial counters by the time Korra is tired (like I'm sure you can see how skewed that fight breakdown is and doesn't actually rely on any of their fighting qualities, almost like a fanfic)
@@MindBursterz I want to point out in a reply that is not an essay That though I disagree, I don't actually have an issue with katara winning the match But it's how she does it that really eerks me Again really love your videos and look forward to your next avatar content
@@sylvanustv8530 Nah, i totally understand. You see, here at Mind Bursterz every opinion and constructive criticism is accepted with no hard feelings 😉
Base Korra beats ATLA Katara(Book 1-3) However Comic Katara(Book 4&3 years post Book 3) and Adult Prime Katara(aged 26-34) would force Korra into the Avatar State. Its stated by Korra that Katara was the best waterbender ever. This would ofcourse take into account her whole history and not just her teenager self. On the other hand if Korra is also older(she was young when she was paralysed) and has achieved her own prime and full potential like previous Avatars(excluding Kuruk who is stated in the books to have died BEFORE he reached his full potential)then she should be able to handle any non Avatar without the Avatar State, even if she is arguably less gifted than most Avatars. Katara reached her absolute prime canonically just before she retired to take care of her kids. She scales above all the feats of her younger versions. Even at age 18 Katara was able to somewhat deflect a blow the very powerful spirit General Old Iron. And she learned plant bending in the comics. While in Book 3 it was debatable who was the best waterbender(still comparable toPakku),in the comics its stated she is probably the best at this point and in LOK her prime is considered easily the best without a doubt, showing her progress I would say Korra vs Book 3 Katara(No full moon)- Korra Mid/High Diff Korra vs Comic Katara- Katara Extreme Diff Korra vs Prime Katara(no feats but outscales)- Katara Mid Diff Hypothetical Fully matured Korra vs Prime Katara- Korra Mid Diff(No Avatar State) Also Amon and Tarrlok are arguably more powerful waterbenders than Book 3 Katara,or atleast Amon. Ofcourse with Energybending Korra destroys anyways, she deflected that City level cannon. Meanwhile even Sozin Comet feats cap at Town level Amon and Tarrlok were powerful enough to bloodbend without the full moon. So they are more powerful than Book 3 Katara. However Adult Katara should do it too cause they kept her out of the Yakone court scene to not cause complications,it was even in a discussion on the official Avatar channel. Although that doesnt mean she would be more skilled at bloodbending as the Amon family has a specific bloodline talent for it.
Blood bending is a niche specialty technique and doesn’t automatically just make you a stronger water bender all together. Regardless Korra stood no chance against Amon or Tarlock so weak argument
Katara could most likely blood bend without the moon. She chose not to because of ethical reasons. Why I think Katara is a better bender overall than Korra is because Katara seems to do just enough for the situation while Korra is like Mike Tyson throw her hardest punch. She blood bended when she needed to. She sweat bended when she needed to. She did vine bending when she needed to. Her healing was other wordly which is part water bending, when she needed to. She froze a lightning user and only released herself in the heat of the moment. If she fought Korra she would do just enough to win and then stop because that Katara. Katara was scary.
11:58 One thing people don’t acknowledge is that Korra is very good at learning mid battle. We see her try to block Unalaq and that doesn’t work so she pulls him instead. The longer the fight goes on the more Korra is likely to win.
Thank you, according to his argument that is skill solely reserved for katara You know? So he bring his video down to a classic "brute vs thinker" When that is not what this is

Korra didn't drown a 30 feet factory, she didn't create a whole waterfall in the comics, she didn't create huge waves to ruin boats in the comics, didn't fight spirit animals in the comics and beat them, didn't make a water spout to reach a 100ft spirit, didn't beat Azula 3 times in the comics but sureee Korra has better feats.
I think the flaw here is that you seem to be focusing on End of Series Katara vs Beginning of Series Korra. Korra goes on an entire arch and becomes a much more tactical and thoughtful fighter. 21-to-22yr old Korra just isn't gonna load up on the mistakes u listed. Not if she's 100%. I would go with Korra high-diff. In the end she's too powerful and she's a tank. Katara cant afford to make mistakes while Korra can make several. Korra wins.
And far more durable too, Korra stomps katara in every physical category, and can match or even surpass katara in bending power, katara could possibly win against early season/poisoned Korra, but any other version of Korra wins.
This is actually a lot easier katara taught korra all of her water bending but didn’t teach her everything so katara can obviously do everything korra can do and more
The only thing Korra can't do and Katara can is bloodbending, but Korra broke out from Amon's one and she can spirtbending,a technique that can destroy human soul 😅
Korra destroys katara realistically katara might be the better water bender but Korra is just a physical beast. She’s faster than her more durable a better fighter and out right stronger than her there would literally be nothing katara could do to stop korra even if katara used blood bending Korra could literally just break out of it with raw strength without the avatar state btw I know everybody likes to hate on korra but physically speaking no bending or avatar state she destroys majority of avatar and the gang specifically no bending or avatar state or aang just raw power
Physical strength goes to Korra but mental and connection with bending goes to Katara. Those traits are very useful in combat. I dont think she would be able to handle the gaang all on her own.
@@tokyoptgamesAM without bending Korra handles the gang, with bending toph and katara can basically press Korra, bring in the whole gang and Korra is cooked.
You guys have to remember Katara basically started water bending when she was like 13 to 14 years old so she didn’t have much time to learn cause she had to keep it a secret. Also Kora grew up in a time of peace where you could waterbend if you wanted too without having to get caught by fire nation. We know Kora started early too cause we saw a clip of her when she was toddler and she was already waterbending. Katara grew way more than Kora in one year. Kora had Katara to teach her. Katara had no one to teach her and had to teach herself. Also you guys keep saying that Kora has better feats and all that but Katara never really needed to use big water moves though. Kora in most of her waterbending fights she is by the ocean. In a good amount of Katara’s fights she isn’t and yet she still defeats her enemies with a tiny bottle of water. So KATARA HAS BETTER SKILL AND IS BETTER THAN HER AT EVERYTHING.

Durability was ignored in this battle scenario, Korra can basically tank everything katara can throw at her she's handled worse, same can't be said for katara. Kid katara is just a glass cannon unless we use older versions i don't see katara tanking any hit from Korra.
I mean tbh durability is kinda different in airbender vs legend ok korra. In ATLA, durability is lower and more realistic, where else they changed it in legend of korra so i guess they could have more intense fighting scenes (i think) so it might be kinda unfair
@@CK-AnimatorI don't think so people always forget that the legend of Korra was using a modern bending which is faster and rely on speed so it's more intense and that's okay And katara was the reason why Korra is good at water bending because she teached her when she's in her prime Ofc the fight is gonna be more intense because all the sub bending and techniques is unleashed to the whole world and almost everyone knows it like metal bending because Toph created a school for earth benders to learned metal bending ofc some of them is gonna be so good at metal bending because of toph and the water bending is the same or almost every bending The legend of korra fight was intense but it's because of the gaang they unleashed every sub bending like lighting notice how everyone can quickly charged lighting it's because of the gaang So I don't think it's because of the realistic but I kind of get you but this is the actual reason why is that.

It states that Katara noticed the glance at her necklace and lose it on purpose and she planed to lose the battle anyway because she wasn’t going for skill but attacking the emotions for emotional damage because she had a prefect way to dodge the ice cage
Katara should be a better waterbender. She has nothing else to focus on. Korra on the other hand has 3 other elements plus the spirit bending and the political side of being the avatar getting in the way that didn’t really happen in the 100 year war. We also need to consider that the events in AtLA were only a few months while LoK were taking place over a much longer period of time but Korra had several wars to fight. From the republic city war, water tribe civil war and the earth empire war. "I strongly believe Katara would emerge victorious in an epic battle against Korra, even without bloodbending or the Avatar state. Here's why: Katara's background and skills make her a formidable opponent. She learned waterbending on her own without a teacher, demonstrating her determination and natural ability. Throughout the Avatar series, she faced numerous challenges and enemies, honing her skills and becoming one of the greatest waterbenders of her time. Katara's abilities extend beyond waterbending; she's also an skilled healer. She even taught Aang and helped him master waterbending. Her calm and collected nature allows her to think strategically, often helping her team overcome difficult situations. In contrast, Korra, despite being the Avatar, has a history of losing battles and making mistakes. She often relies on brute force rather than strategy, and her impulsiveness can put herself and others at risk. Katara's experience working in a team and her ability to think strategically give her an edge over Korra. Katara has consistently demonstrated her capacity for clever planning, as seen in her defeat of Azula. Furthermore, Katara has invented and mastered various waterbending techniques, such as the octopus flip. She has also developed ways to resist attacks especially blood bending which for sure marks great in blood bending and counter waterbending attacks, showcasing her resourcefulness and skill. In a battle between Katara and Korra, I firmly believe Katara's skills, strategy, and experience would give her the upper hand. Asami would slap the taste out of Ty Lee's mouth Zaheer would have to get in close to azula without being hit, but once he pulls the air out of her lungs, she can't bend anymore since firebending comes from breath control. Kuvira has the speed to actually tag zaheer and comes down to a matter of if she can bend while being suffocated or not. Amon without bloodbending only has 1 waterbending feat so there isn't much to go on. Sokka would lose to Suki and gets the taste slapped out of his mouth by Asami. Mmm appreciate the discussions and work put into this video, but you really undersold Korra.
Saying Katara is the more tactical thinkiner and adaptive is a bit wild. Not that those arent strengths of hers, but Korra literally embodies these strengths.
You had to nitpick a scene where Korra didnt immediately adapt to Tarrlock's attacks to say shes "predictible" and "exposable."
Ignoring how she literally adapts to said attack the next second and destroys him.

That's really what tips the scales in my mind especially when it comes to adapting like she flat out has adapted to more enemies that Katara (Kuvira, Tarrlock, Amon).

Nope korra uses more firebending but her best feats are with water, her best element
Also korra can also heal, she can spirtbending( if it is used on humans it can destroy the soul) and she broke out from Amon's bloodbending
@@moonlight8451 No one looks at a theoretical debate about a character and then twists their morals just so they can win.

@@shepardoakenshieldprime3357 By that logic, no one is winning cause they wouldnt fight in the first place. We are talking about a scene where both characters HAVE to go all out. Disregarding Kataras bloodbending is foolish.

Very very true, none can compete 😅
Yeah
I agree! While Korra had impressive feats, Katara's feats in the comics are unrivaled by ANY avatar.
Real
I just realized Katara never bends water with her feet always using her hands. That's why Mei and Ty Lee always block her hands and Katara can't bend water anymore... On the other hand, Korra can bend water using her feet, if her hands are blocked she can still attack with her feet
In the comics katara uses her feet
Well, I agree with you on this, but at the end of Season 4, Korra has become much more mature, which helps reduce her aggression. I hope to see more of Korra after this because I'm sure she will become the best waterbender
Yall cmon let’s be Fr the avatar against a single bender? Like I’m sorry… love my Katara but no
She won’t be the avatar in the scenario. Master of all elements. She’ll just be a water bender.

Her fighting pretty evenly with Unalaq adds to my point.
Nope Korra beat unaloq twice and there wasn't anything even about the fight, granted she had access to other elements, the only time she had issues was with unavatuu,
This battle completely ignored durability.

Like you wonder why Korra would go for big moves? It is because she has the strength to do them and she has the durability to tank yours
This argument you made it very skewed, you ignored katara's weaknesses such as her durability and speed
Ignored that korra has faced up against waterbending masters I would put higher than katara (unaluk) and shown she is very adaptable and a sharp/quick thinker ("turning someone's attack into a trap" like what you credit katara for, but also forgot korra does it too)
Ignored Korra's battle IQ and strength (so she is not going to tire out as you put it, she can go the distance) and even then, she is not going to make big moves that don't land and continue with the same move (like you saw two instance where she made big moves that her opponents were dodging and immediately switched with a move so large it was a sure fire hit (but in your books that is not adaptability, or control of the fight, when she literally changes the terrain of the battle just so she lands that hit, and boy do they land))
And worst of all you leaned heavily into sterotypes and false profiles of Korra like "she's all punch", "she's brutish and straight forward" when you showed clips of her quick thinking proving otherwise
Ignored the fact that even when she is the initial agressor in a fight, she is not some mindless brute that would be rampaging without a target, tiring herself out, like she has never even done this but you seem to not understand that when you praise someone's waterbending technique for being "efficient" it means "get the job done with the least effort and least amount of moves" so no to when you completely flip and represent that person as a rampaging brute that "katara would wait to tire herself out" (like this isn't korra with ptsd going against kuvira, if she missed the first time, she is not missing the next time)
Even worst you didn't even acknowledge that season 1 and season 4 korra are not the same person (like for someone that claims to watch and understand the show, you didn't demonstrate that in this video)
@@sylvanustv8530 I believe I touched on some of the things you mentioned
@@MindBursterz yeah you brought some of them up but never talked about how they affect the battle
Like Korra's efficient use of waterbending is brought up in the beginning, but it is used more as a passing comment than a factor to consider in the battle
But my grievance is more of the things you didn't bring up like how katara is also a temperamental characters that literally runs into things without a plan (think her fight with the swamp monster, she literally charges at hu at first and is knocked back), and how Korra has the stamina and durability to withstand any attack katara makes
And how if katara goes for that passive leading role in a Battle she would be overwhelmed by Korra shear bending power (just like it has played out in much of Korra's fights; her fight with Tarrlok, and desna and eska come to mind)
And I personally don't have any grievance with you, and I am honestly a fan of your content and has watched all your avatar videos
It's just sad to me how you characterized Korra in the fight breakdown (which honestly feels modelled specifically to simplify a highly contentious battle)
Korra has demonstrated multiple times to be a quick thinker, that learns quickly in a fight (think of her fight with Tarrlok, her escape from Tarrlok and the equalist capture, her fight with unaluk (where she learned from her failure mid fight to not defend his attack but turned his attack against him))
And she is not a straight forward fighter as most guys would like her to be, just for the purpose of simplifying these duels
When honestly it is not some classic brawn vs brute because both of them are brawns and brutes to varying degrees
Katara is more tactical thanKorra, but Korra doesn't lack all intelligence to switch up her tactic or see a very clear bait (basically Korra is not stupid)
And katara is not some tactical badass most of the time and given the opportunity katara ditches all skill and going for big moves but Korra can just go bigger and more often
The only difference is that when faced with an overwhelming force katara is going to switch from big to small precise attacks while when Korra is seeing the fight is taking too long she is going to call the ocean to drown her opponent or split the ground in two, but then when faced with opponents like katara that can keep up and give substantial counters (unaluk) she goes for reverse counters, and tries closing distance so she can use her martial arts (not that she would be rampaging till she tires like some dog)
I don't know if I got my points out clearly, but I like the first two section of the video, but the fight breakdown you gave seems highly dependent on Korra doing everything wrong (rampaging like a dog) and katara doing everything right by some how surviving the rampage, but consistently being on the defense and evading (things that are not her greatest strengths) and still conserving all her energy to deliver substantial counters by the time Korra is tired (like I'm sure you can see how skewed that fight breakdown is and doesn't actually rely on any of their fighting qualities, almost like a fanfic)

I agree. Korra is stronger but Katara would know how to use it against her.
Base Korra beats ATLA Katara(Book 1-3)
However Comic Katara(Book 4&3 years post Book 3) and Adult Prime Katara(aged 26-34) would force Korra into the Avatar State.
While in Book 3 it was debatable who was the best waterbender(still comparable toPakku),in the comics its stated she is probably the best at this point and in LOK her prime is considered easily the best without a doubt, showing her progress
I would say
Korra vs Book 3 Katara(No full moon)- Korra Mid/High Diff
Korra vs Comic Katara- Katara Extreme Diff
Korra vs Prime Katara(no feats but outscales)- Katara Mid Diff
Hypothetical Fully matured Korra vs Prime Katara- Korra Mid Diff(No Avatar State)
Also Amon and Tarrlok are arguably more powerful waterbenders than Book 3 Katara,or atleast Amon.
Ofcourse with Energybending Korra destroys anyways, she deflected that City level cannon.
Meanwhile even Sozin Comet feats cap at Town level
Amon and Tarrlok were powerful enough to bloodbend without the full moon.
@@wsgitsdavid Korra does everything you've seen katara do on a grander scale minus stopping the rain and bloodbending. But her water spouts are not only obscenely tall but she can expand them to a stupid radius. Also froze the mech instantly with no avatar state and could stalemate it's arm trying to crush them with ice.
Korra wins.
This one is tough to decide because Korra is very strong and fast.
And far more durable too, Korra stomps katara in every physical category, and can match or even surpass katara in bending power, katara could possibly win against early season/poisoned Korra, but any other version of Korra wins.
This is actually a lot easier katara taught korra all of her water bending but didn’t teach her everything so katara can obviously do everything korra can do and more
There's nothing Katara does that Korra can't aside from the rain feat and bloodbending
The only thing Korra can't do and Katara can is bloodbending, but Korra broke out from Amon's one and she can spirtbending,a technique that can destroy human soul 😅
@@AyamesChroniclesKorra doesn't have all of Katara skills in combat, She can't pull water from air too.
@@rhythmicmusicswap4173 korra doesn't have all of Katara skills in combat, She can't pull water from air too.
@@tokyoptgamesAM
I mean maybe not but definitely Katara
@@tokyoptgamesAM without bending Korra handles the gang, with bending toph and katara can basically press Korra, bring in the whole gang and Korra is cooked.
@@LoneWolf-el5oy Toph is useless if Korra elevates herself with a tornado or is anywhere on the water and outstats everyone else.
So KATARA HAS BETTER SKILL AND IS BETTER THAN HER AT EVERYTHING.
and? korra is better than katara, katara wasn't even THAT good and korra without her bending can still fight rewatch the show bro and stop with the glaze it's so childish even nya from ninjago could beat her ass

Exactly lmaoo!
HELP NOT OU SAYING WERE BIASED WHEN WERE STATING FACTS LOL, katara is way more versatile and connected with her element ,plus she knows every sub bending form exept for spirit bending and became a master in all exept plant and blood bending, also katara knows how to pull water out of objeccts and other techniques we didnt see korra do,she also stopped the rain and made a dome with it, and its literally not fait at all considering korra is like in her early 20's while katara is only 14, if we use comic katara who is 16 vs korra when she was 16, katara absolutely annihilates
@@humayunkabir3814 I never said i was biased LOL

I'll address the elephant in the room: where's the others guy who used to run this channel? This is clearly not his voice
This fight would be EPIC. Might be almost impossible for one to win, but I think Korra would come out on top.
when Korra was a child she was taught water bending by Katara. sooo i think Korra would beat her master ig
katara glazers are blinded by nostalgia they are psycho
Durability was ignored in this battle scenario, Korra can basically tank everything katara can throw at her she's handled worse, same can't be said for katara.
Kid katara is just a glass cannon unless we use older versions i don't see katara tanking any hit from Korra.
I mean tbh durability is kinda different in airbender vs legend ok korra. In ATLA, durability is lower and more realistic, where else they changed it in legend of korra so i guess they could have more intense fighting scenes (i think) so it might be kinda unfair
@@CK-AnimatorI don't think so people always forget that the legend of Korra was using a modern bending which is faster and rely on speed so it's more intense and that's okay
And katara was the reason why Korra is good at water bending because she teached her when she's in her prime
Ofc the fight is gonna be more intense because all the sub bending and techniques is unleashed to the whole world and almost everyone knows it like metal bending because Toph created a school for earth benders to learned metal bending ofc some of them is gonna be so good at metal bending because of toph and the water bending is the same or almost every bending
The legend of korra fight was intense but it's because of the gaang they unleashed every sub bending like lighting notice how everyone can quickly charged lighting it's because of the gaang
So I don't think it's because of the realistic but I kind of get you but this is the actual reason why is that.

Korra was acting like a teenager and living her age, unlike Katara, who became mature at an early age because she went through very harsh circumstances. This naturally affects the entire personality.
The fact that Korra wouldn't be good because of Katara, Korra's water bending master is Katara, ofc Katara more better
Pakku was Katara's master and she surpassed him. Gyatso was Aang's master and surpassed him...
A student can surpass their master? It’s been shown on different occasions in atla/tlok. Korra learnt everything adult Katara knew and more. Also, Korra is physically stronger and a better combatant. She’ll def win.

Even if we allow that Korra has shown she was able to airbend a stronger blood bender. As shown in the vid Korra also has more impressive raw power displays of waterbending. Within the original series yes Katara often used her mind and technique more but let's not overlook Korra would pretty much know how to counter something like ice bending. I figure that if we had seen korra mastering all the elements from the start instead of what seems to be water/ earth, then fire and lastly air. "I strongly believe Katara would emerge victorious in an epic battle against Korra, even without bloodbending or the Avatar state. Here's why:
Katara's background and skills make her a formidable opponent.
Korra might put up a tough fight, but ultimately, Katara's superiority would shine through."
yet she lost against korra in the comics many times korra's dad himself said "not AGAIN"
