What is the slice is too little for the name or label? Is there options for arrow or line or pointer

At around 1:43 in the video, you can see a section 'Label Position'. You could opt to select the 'Cutom' option there, and then the icon to place the label next to the slice. Under 'Display options' the 'Display connecting lines to label' should already be ticked. Hope this is what you were looking for.

is there a way to chang data label on pie chart directly w/o messing with data view?

Not sure what you mean, but if you want to change the label names, you can click on them 'slowly' and then again slowly on the one you want to change. Then you can select the text and adjust it to what you want. This won't affect the variable in the data itself.
