    Great tips. Although GPA in the long run can be irrelevant, it’s the short term benefits of it that really opens doors early in our careers...which will have long term effects in our lives.

      Sort off, it is not a complete indication of the persons abilities but it at least shows that this person is disciplined enough to study, self teach, and get a good grade. One of the many indicators of hard work. Other indicators are part time jobs, volunteering, personal projects, etc...which all make up the complete picture.

    Guys, better start working harder, so many people want to be an engineer that there will be an overpopulation so some people WILL be left behind if they are not competitive

      Actually there is a shortage of Engineers in the US. Not enough .

      Hi Vinod,
      Just a few questions,
      What Engineering degree did you get?
      What was your GPA when you graduated?
      Did you work on any personal or university projects?
      Did you have any technical experience from any internships?
      Did you take advantage of the resources available at your university? is so which ones?
      Thanks

      Go Beyond Engineering I have been a Electrician for 16 years, I'm a undergraduate engineering student with 3.8 GPA. How will my experience benefit me when I graduate?

      Adrian Salazar okay bro will work hard. I am a computer science graduate.

      It will help you in several ways. For starters you already have work experience, so during interviews you’ll be able to talk about problems you faced and how you solved them. It also gives you references, something that a new graduate , straight out of college won’t really have...I’m sure you also see the benefits in class, since you’ve worked as an electrician, you’ve been exposed to real voltage, current, power making classes a little easier because your learning what you already worked on at a deeper level.

    Just found this channel and I love the content. Wondering if you give me some advice. I'm in the u.s Navy studying to be a sonar technician for submarines but my dream job has always been electrical engineer. I have no college degrees as I graduated highschool 2017, but I had honors. What should I do to learn how to be an electrical engineer while I'm in the navy and how applicable is sonar to power for example?

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад

      I don’t really know about sonar so I wouldn’t be able to say...BUT if you have free time I would suggest you buy an arduino kit as mentioned in the video and that will get you started in electrical engineering.

      Go Beyond Engineering So I'm for sure going to have to learn it on my own until I can go to a uni. you spoke about internships leading into good jobs how would someone like myself find an opportunity like that outside of professors? Also how important is a computer considering I haven't got one in my barracks? Nothing fancy and expensive I hope

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад

      Having a computer is very important. I would suggest investing in one.
      If you want to get started buy a basic computer and an arduino Kit, that will get you going in Electrical Engineering.

    I know you're an electrical engineer, but is it possible for you to make videos about all the other kinds of engineering?

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад +2

      I like to talk from my experience, if I start talking about all kinds of engineering I will simply be talking about things from google.

    Another tip: Apply, Apply, Apply. Send out a lot of applications early, and write slightly personalized cover letters. The more you apply for the bigger is the chance for getting an interview where you can show off who you really are!

    • @RelearnMath

      Anything that you like. Make sure to document and put it on your resumé Arduino projects, apps, even modding cars or fixing them. Make sure you document the process though.

    I just graduated high school. Are extracurricular classes, for electrical engineer students, best taken in their last year of college? I'm justing asking this because i remember i read this in an article.

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад

      Hi Ana,
      I’m not sure what you mean by “extracurricular classes for electrical Engineers” , do you mean elective classes?

    • @pear1ycur1y83
      @pear1ycur1y83 6 лет назад

      My bad, i accidentally added ''classes''. I meant extracurriculars such as unpaid internships, jobs, or activities involving my chosen major. Sorry if I'm not making this any easier to understand. I'm a newb lol Thanks for replying :)

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад +1

      Extracurriculars should be part of your entire college career. My recommendation is the following...
      Year 1...focus on classes.
      Year 2...classes + personal projects(learn to use the arduino or work on a software project)
      Summer after year 2...attempt to get an internship(will be paid if you are in the US)
      Year 3...join a faculty sponsored project.
      Summer after year 3...Internship(paid)
      Year 4...classes, internship , and project(no life)

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад

      You can always push a year...so maybe you can extend your degree to 5 years , so just add +1 to all the numbers mentioned
