I said it before and I'll say again. Ariana Grande is an underrated ARTIST. We obviously all know her for her iconic style and crazy vocal ability but what most people overlook/don't realize is how musically gifted she is.
Exactly. They generalise every single pop star as generic who don't even make their own music but we all know, it's not the case with Ariana. She has a hand at everything, but a few people aren't ready to accept it.
@cozzyvibez2613people talk about Taylor’s writing ability all the time… we are talking about how Ariana is underrated when it comes to vocal layering, harmonies, musicality, etc. I mean all of which she has over Taylor
Am I the only one who ADORES West Side? The beat, the pace, the vibe is just soooo... Satisfying? I don't know how to word it properly. It's just one of my favorite songs, I love how her voice sounds so smooth and relaxed on this track.
Positions was an interesting album and you could tell that she was experimenting with different genres… most fans hate it but I can say its my top five.
this album aged like fine wine. every single song still sounds so fresh. edit: i know it's only been out for 2 years, i was comparing it to some other 2020 albums/songs that didn't have the timeless sound. yall can stop yelling at me 😭
my favorite part about ariana is how romantic she is. considering how we live in a society that equates adoration and sweetness with being weak, it's so refreshing to see artists like ariana grande, carly rae jepsen, and lorde not ever shy away from saying "i love you." whether it's sexual in nature or not, you can always tell it's so sincere. positions is the very embodiment of someone (in this case, ariana) being made of love. this is why I always stand by it when I say that sensitive people will always make the best writing. honestly, i didn't like positions the first time it dropped. now i do of course but it’s just the first track that sets me off. but the different uses of strings in positions vs thank u next is worth mentioning as well. positions has this fairytale like aspect to it (shut up being compared to classic disney orchestras) while tun is gut-wrenching and undeniably dark. bad idea's instrumental still leaves me breathless to this day. the best comparison i can make is older hollywood horror. the way ariana isn't afraid the subliminally include her old hollywood and horror inspirations is one of her most powerful aspects. i listen to thank u next and positions a lot, but during the late year, when halloween is arriving and the seasons start to get colder, i completely play them out lmfao. ariana has some of the best instrumentals in the game no doubt. personally i love pov, safety net, and off the table. probably just a pipe dream but i would love ariana to make a whole docu-series of her complete creative process. she's so sweet and loving and i kinda need to see her write and produce in real time. like from the beginning stages of gathering refrences to actually making the album, getting the "look" of the era together, to finally filming the music videos and releasing the album. i'd quite literally live for it uggghhgh
You said everything that I feel like. Ariana needs to make a documentary of her creative process to shut up a few people who question her creative process and says that she doesn't make her own music and depends on others.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought Positions was the final arc of the trauma trilogy. Healing. It (joint with Sweetener) is my favourite Ariana album
I feel like positions was also Ari calling a day on the infantilisation she’s been labelled with and saying hey no more and I love her for that. It’s definitely the end of an era which has been such a contradictory one as listeners we have relished the music she created but been saddened knowing the pain she endured to make it. I honestly wish her nothing but amazing things in every aspect of her life
the album isn't best lyrically nor musically, but i can't explain it. the happiness, healing, love, aesthetics makes it my favorite album of hers and i come back to it every day. it resonates on a different level.
I knew about Ariana Grande since I watched Victorious and Sam & Cat on Nickelodeon in my childhood & I knew some of her songs from the radio around 2012 - 2017, but it wasn't until 2018/19 that I listened to her albums. I was at a pretty low point back then but when I listened to her then newest album, Thank u, Next, I related to it so much & it really helped me channel out my emotions & begin a new era of my life. When positions came out I sort of felt the same with how much I could relate to its whole vibe; healed & more matured. I'm very grateful for Grande's music & it's definitely influenced my life.
So wholesome. It's the same case for me. I knew who Ariana was, duh. And I knew all of her hits but I didn't listen to her albums, any of her albums. When I listened to thank u, next, I immediately thought that I was missing out on so much and I was. That's all it took me to listen to all of her albums, and they all made me a fan of her. The feels, raw emotions, maturity, way of freedom, piece of mind and peace her songs brings is so astonishing. The meaning behind each songs just gives me goosebumps. Fast forward to almost 4 years, she's my top artist and my fav artist/celebrity. I love her, not only as an artist but as an individual too. She seems so kind, thoughtful, brilliant, intelligent, awesome. She's almost like a big sister to me. Forever grateful for her and her masterpieces.
This album was soooooo good!!!! I think it’s my favorite album from her. Something about this era the songs, visuals, vibes all of it! Also the timing when it came out, this was peak 2020 fall/winter time and things were getting dark around the world so hearing the happiness in this album was a breath of fresh air. Good job on the video!
First of all... i'm truly so proud of you for bringing this series to life and wanna thank you for making all of us happy :). I can't comprehend how well you captured all this info into a "three-part series", it's honestly so impressing. To me, "positions" is the most artistic and bravest album ari has done this far, and we need to realize that. Honestly, I feel like some of the album haters either can't accept ari's artistic evolution or just didn't give the album a second chance. This is coming from someone who literally didn't like the album at first. Up until the release of positions I adored every ari album (even each song!) ever since first listen. Positions kind of threw me out of the window and I couldn't be more grateful for it ahahah. Safety net, positions and nasty clicked immediately, since they still have certain elements from other ari albums in them in my opinion. What makes this album so special to me is, that it aged like fine wine and no other album has done it so smoothly. To be completely transparent here, "shut up" and "the og 34+35" still can't compete with the rest of the album in my head, but you know... music taste is so diverse. The deluxe edition was the most genius and ground-breaking idea she could've come up with and it gave the album even more depth and structure. Quick unpopular opinions: "someone like u (interlude) should have been the intro!", "main thing and worst behavior were robbed for not being on the original tracklist", "out of the storyline point of view, test drive could easily replace six thirty". "my hair" is simply one of her best songs and "west side" is a personal fav and most listened. The features on this album make so much sense and are perfectly used. In conclusion "positions" and "sweetener" are my self-care albums, and their purpose is to just make me feel good. "tun" and "dangerous woman" on the other hand both came out during a time period, where I needed them the most. "my everything" just hits close to home, because I became a stan during this era and "yours truly" brings back major 10 year old happiness in me. Ari is just THAT girl and positions deserves so much more appreciation! Sending lots of love to everyone, and thanks for everything, bro :)
@@laurin.leander5701 of course☺️💜 & ouuu, that’s kinda hard!! I think my top 3 would have to be obvious, worst behavior, & love language. Those songs just always do it for me😌
Positions is honestly one of her most cohesive albums too. It’s a song that almost shares a story if you listen to each of the songs in sequential order. The themes of each song in sequential order convey a story of Ariana exploring love, being heartbroken, losing love, and then regaining it. I absolutely adore it. Positions deserves her flowers from her fans that it does not get at all. Out of all her albums, there are ZERO skips since they not only tell a story, but because each song is legitimately SO FUCKING GOOD. I don’t hate or dislike a SINGLE song on this album.
I can't believe people actually hated on positions. Even more than they did with Sweetener. She started experimenting with more of an r&b and trap sound which I as a r&b girlie really appreciate. People were always so used to her pop sound they were not getting used to that imo
i want to thank you for this beautiful trilogy, and for all the work you put into this serie! can't wait to see your Channel grow even more! much love from Italy
this woman is so musically gifted and such a one of kind talent, her musicality and vocal ability will go down in history, top 5 vocalists of all time idc
I think, it'll be more mature. As she's continuing growing up as an individual and as an artist, I think, it'll be about her marriage/love life and life in general. Love and positivity (just like positions minus the sexual theme) but like, with a hint of negativity and hard ships of marriage and life(just like thank u, next minus the marriage part). What I don't know is if she'll do the pop + rnb sound, or she'll go fully rnb or just do a complete different genre.
Pov is her most mature love song if not one of the most mature love songs done in a pop-way. It’s a smart concept that hasn’t been done before. It’s girly a cute 🥰
OMG a positions stan. I love this album, it is my favorite of her. It was definitely a grower. I love the r&b sound and tease lyrics and it is just so positive and happy so she definitely shares that and I’m happy she’s happy. Also THERE IS NOT A DAY I DONT LISTEN TO THE DELUXE TRACKS they are so good
People do the same thing with Mariah Carey. Everytime someone tries to give her credit for writing and producing they always say “wEll iT WaS Co-wRiTtEn”… like yeah, because she is such a prodigy that she never had to learn an instrument and needs someone to translate for her, in addition to teaching her how to engineer music the way she wants it to sound
pov is a really important song. One that really made me feel something unlike any other song had. We all have that one person that gives us true and unconditional love. A love we ourselves do not have for our own person. But we want to learn to love ourselves the way this person loves us. It's truly the best song she's ever released.
HAD to follow after you released the Thank You Next video. While I definitely want more album/era reviews from you. I’m down to watch whatever you produce 🎉
Honestly earned a subscriber, everything from the editing to the little details was perfect to me, can’t wait until people like Rih or SZA and even rappers. Definitely can’t wait🔥
Another excellent video. This series was so comforting and you perfectly explained the concept of this album and her previous ones. On a different note, I was thinking about how everyone (specifically some of the “fans”) reacted to the album when it released in 2020, and made me sad to see how they all just trashed it. Aside from everyone having their own opinion and musical tastes, this was her first album where she was actually happy given all the horrible stuff she’s been through in the past years. Like, did you really want her to be miserable and unhappy forever ?? Idk, that always stuck w me. Personally, I still adore this album, still listen every day..I know she’s doing her thing with the makeup right now lol, but I’ll be patiently waiting to hear the next chapter of her life whenever she’s ready.
This was the first album of ari’s I was around for, (in the fandom) , I started to listen to her again and then I saw the announcement, and was excited , I love the album and the visuals are my fav
OMG! i peeped toni braxton’s “speaking in tongues” in your top 5! that’s one of my favorite songs from “the heat” ! ur taste is top tier, lol. congrats on the success of ur channel!
I prefer this album over sweetener and TUN even tho they have bigger singles, Positions is just a very good cohesive album with songs that connect on a different level with me
Ive been waiting for this since the sweetener video! Your videos are so well made and I love hearing your opinions and thoughts on music. Can’t wait to see more from you
I just watched this whole trilogy and it was so good. When I saw you only had 2.5k subs I was literally shocked. You make such high quality content I was genuinely confused that you didnt have any more subscribers. Keep up the good work!!! side note: positions is my all time favorite album by ariana it is so criminally underrated. the instrumentals on some tracks like love language or shut up are so captivating and the lyrics throughout make for it to be such a coherent body of work and It was just amazing. When this came out I was obsessed with it and I still am.
I couldn't agree more with everything you said here. I've been thinking so many of these things for so long. like you really saw the vision omg😭 I feel like sweetener is the happiness before the pain, thank u next is the pain, and positions is the true healing. and I'm so glad you mentioned dangerous woman and positions being sister albums because I saw that as well!!! because I debated which one was "the sex album" (because every pop star has a sex album) and I came to the conclusion that while positions is more overtly and explicitly sexual, dangerous woman is more sexy and sensual. dangerous woman are my top two ariana albums tbh
thank you sooo so much for this!!!! positions was really disliked by a lot of tasteless stans but it’ll remain as my 2nd best album of her next to sweetener/tun
Positions may be my like 4th fav, but it's still amaaazingg It's mature, fresh, sexy, smooth and unapologetically honest and raw. 11:52 i love how these 3 are exacly half of her discography and they're all in color, where 1st three are black, white and grey and thank u for loving the light is coming, it's so overhated, it's not her best.. but still it's interesting also 8:00 safety net and off the table are also slow songs
I didn’t care for positions the album, but it gave me pov and safety net which are two of my all time favorite Ariana Grande songs, so I’m happy about that. I did love the live performances she did to support the album though
@@Nayedani I think, Ari's first three albums are just songs mixed together. There's no story, that's what I feel like. Ofc, songs are amazing, filled with her emotions and the songs are meaningful but they are not telling a story like her last three albums did. Dw is an amazing album but if we compare it to sw, tun and pos, I don't think so it has that one factor that makes the album, THE ALBUM, like the last three albums of hers. Edit : dw is my 3rd fav album of Ari. I'm not saying it's bad, that's what I wanna clarify beforehand.
You did your BIG 1 with this discography video of Ari’s Positions album era! Super well done my Guy ✊🏾🤍 FRFR 💯 this album 💿 was definitely the best of 2020 (and beyond) it was just what we all needed during the pandemic 😷 I know I had a ball with every song 🎧 off this album the music videos were giving life and the VEVO performances made my whole summer. I’m so happy & proud that her now current relationship/marriage inspired this record along with the personal growth and headspace that she’s in today & gotten be well sexually liberated with some of the songs she made which gave it some BAM 💥 hoe lol. positions era will always & forever be the best Album of this Decade + the album shoot to it is everything. I personally cannot wait for her long awaited 7th studio album later this decade after wicked wraps cause I’ll miss her singing until then🥹
I’m so with you regarding this album(besides album of the decade. Renaissance and planet her has a bone to pick with you lol). I wish their were more visuals. The 34+35 remix should have never been a video honestly. That should have gone to the next single pov smh.
@@mashyu_brand well I still ❤️🔥 both planet her and Renaissance might I add lol since the super fans will come for me but whatever I says what I says 🤣 tho you have a point of the 34+35 remix should’T have a music video yet it was still enjoyable so I’m 50/50! Ariana should’ve been the main star for a POV music video! And let’s not forget that she signed up for the voice last season (which she nailed it) and her song just look up with kid Cudi
I personally think the album was kind of mid, it was a great idea and the aesthetic (light, airy, lots of strings, etc.) was there but it didn't deliver. I feel like she could've ended off the "trilogy" with something more than what was just mostly pillow talk. being sexy isn't the problem, that who she is, its that she leaned so much into it that it diluted the true depth this record could've had in finally giving her that closure, and the only song that delivered on that was "pov" ("safety net", was also decent and , "just like magic", "obvious" and "nasty" were fun) also, I fell flat because the production was a bit bland (I come from an engineering/production background btw) and although it was technically well made and it was very clean sounding, it was a bit lifeless overall and especially with '34+35'. Engineering is such a tricky and under appreciated thing, even if you have a beautifully written song, if you don't know how to translate that into an arrangement with depth and character then it will just not have much impact.
Man listen Portions (and deluxe edition) are underrated like hell 😩 Just Like Magic has been my shit recently People should put more respect on the Positions era like actually SIT DOWN AND LISTEN to the full album from start to finish cause people just be throwing it under the bus 🤷🏽♀️ and honestly I’m fine if she doesn’t release any albums rn cause she needs a break and do other stuff besides music and she doesn’t need to cause just look at her Spotify listeners she gains more and more every few days and that’s WITHOUT releasing nothing for 2 years
Hella late on this but it was supposed to wrap up her trilogy left by Ariana healing from her grief (mainly Mac Miller’s death which was caused by him taking it out on himself). Sweetener was the more bubbly and beautiful stuff about healing, and thank u, next was the ugly part of her grieving. Positions was the album that wrapped up her healing process once and for all, as she found Dalton who treated her right (in which was hella wrong, which is why we have eternal sunshine. It’s her further maturing by the fact that although she hates what Dalton did behind her back, she still has some care for him, but is willing to move on her life and find someone else.)
what’s YOUR top 3 from positions??? 🤍🤍🤍
yassss new video, also my top 3 is:

I watched the the sweetener and thank u, next videos earlier today and the trilogy comes to an end today what perfect timing
I didn’t like pov at first and then it just grew on me too
I really appreciate this breakdown, thank you 🙏🏾
HAD to follow after you released the Thank You Next video. While I definitely want more album/era reviews from you. I’m down to watch whatever you produce 🎉
Thank you for this trilogy!!!!!! I fell like all of this happened to me again. Im crying 😭🤍
I’ve been waiting for this video since you announced it! Can’t wait to see more album content!🫶
Personally, I still adore this album, still listen every day..I know she’s doing her thing with the makeup right now lol, but I’ll be patiently waiting to hear the next chapter of her life whenever she’s ready.
perfect description 🤍
my top 3 is pov, safety net, just like magic / off the table. absolute my favorite album by her along with dangerous woman.
this video series is amazing!!! These videos are so well done, I've enjoyed each one!!! this is an amazing channel, definitely deserves a sub ;)
What an amazing video saga. I had to subscribe after watching these videos 💜
Oh my God I love the light is coming so much,I wanted.more Nicki but it was amazing it definitely deserved to be on of her biggest hits
i love this. you perfectly described what everyone who loves this album feels about it that not everybody sees
This was the first album of ari’s I was around for, (in the fandom) , I started to listen to her again and then I saw the announcement, and was excited , I love the album and the visuals are my fav
OMG! i peeped toni braxton’s “speaking in tongues” in your top 5! that’s one of my favorite songs from “the heat” !
ur taste is top tier, lol. congrats on the success of ur channel!
speaking in tongues is a godly song yessss
Thank you for making this series. I watched all 3 videos in one sitting and you’re a genius
thank YOU for watching ☺️
I cant wait for an eternal sunshine video 😊
masterpiece tbh
her best album🙏🏾
I prefer this album over sweetener and TUN even tho they have bigger singles, Positions is just a very good cohesive album with songs that connect on a different level with me
Ive been waiting for this since the sweetener video! Your videos are so well made and I love hearing your opinions and thoughts on music. Can’t wait to see more from you
this video was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, you literally described how I feel with this album. thank u so much 👏🙌
I just watched this whole trilogy and it was so good.
When this came out I was obsessed with it and I still am.
thank you so much for watching. 💕💕
The way we have the exact same takes is insane. Sending u love. 🤍
sending some back 💕💕💕
I couldn't agree more with everything you said here. I've been thinking so many of these things for so long. like you really saw the vision omg😭 I feel like sweetener is the happiness before the pain, thank u next is the pain, and positions is the true healing. and I'm so glad you mentioned dangerous woman and positions being sister albums because I saw that as well!!! because I debated which one was "the sex album" (because every pop star has a sex album) and I came to the conclusion that while positions is more overtly and explicitly sexual, dangerous woman is more sexy and sensual. dangerous woman are my top two ariana albums tbh
such a good video and so eloquently spoken! love this luv u !!
this is by far my favorite ariana album, and maybe oat
and also same thing with POV happened to me
thank you sooo so much for this!!!! positions was really disliked by a lot of tasteless stans but it’ll remain as my 2nd best album of her next to sweetener/tun
I love your videos they gave me another perspective of music like nobody else keep up the good work!! ❤❤
We love your videos please keep making more
can we talk about love language's outro
i dont listen to ari but you make me wanna explore her work a little more now. great video!
Your whole series has been amazing!
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: only intellectuals truly appreciate and understand her and her music
This was great video series I been waiting for positions 🥹!!! Also Are you gonna do a The Weeknd series 👀🖤
I actually have a script in my drafts about The Weeknd. Maybe I’ll finish it. We’ll see. 😉
i loved this
"the only slow song on the album"
off the table.....
My favorite album from her
i love the titles u come up with
Positions may be my like 4th fav, but it's still amaaazingg
It's mature, fresh, sexy, smooth and unapologetically honest and raw.
11:52 i love how these 3 are exacly half of her discography and they're all in color, where 1st three are black, white and grey
and thank u for loving the light is coming, it's so overhated, it's not her best.. but still it's interesting
also 8:00 safety net and off the table are also slow songs
I lovedddd watching the series on Ari's albums! Can't wait for u to do this with other artists (maybe Sabrina Carpenter?🤞)
loved the 3 vids u did :))
I didn’t care for positions the album, but it gave me pov and safety net which are two of my all time favorite Ariana Grande songs, so I’m happy about that. I did love the live performances she did to support the album though
FINALLLYYYY
i love your channel so much
thank you so much 💕
This album really made me like her 🥰
positions is her best album idk
YUH 💋 💅🏻 💦 TASTE
YESSSSS
what an amazing take .. new subscriber here ☺️
thank you! 🥹 hope you enjoy
LETS GOOOOO
also can you do dw next?
@@Nayedani I think, Ari's first three albums are just songs mixed together. There's no story, that's what I feel like. Ofc, songs are amazing, filled with her emotions and the songs are meaningful but they are not telling a story like her last three albums did. Dw is an amazing album but if we compare it to sw, tun and pos, I don't think so it has that one factor that makes the album, THE ALBUM, like the last three albums of hers.
Edit : dw is my 3rd fav album of Ari. I'm not saying it's bad, that's what I wanna clarify beforehand.
hope u make more album video essays/reviewsss
don't think i didn't notice A Ghost's Pumpkin Soup in the background. 👀
Wait this title tho whaoshwodjd
I personally think the album was kind of mid, it was a great idea and the aesthetic (light, airy, lots of strings, etc.) was there but it didn't deliver. I feel like she could've ended off the "trilogy" with something more than what was just mostly pillow talk. being sexy isn't the problem, that who she is, its that she leaned so much into it that it diluted the true depth this record could've had in finally giving her that closure, and the only song that delivered on that was "pov" ("safety net", was also decent and , "just like magic", "obvious" and "nasty" were fun)
also, I fell flat because the production was a bit bland (I come from an engineering/production background btw) and although it was technically well made and it was very clean sounding, it was a bit lifeless overall and especially with '34+35'. Engineering is such a tricky and under appreciated thing, even if you have a beautifully written song, if you don't know how to translate that into an arrangement with depth and character then it will just not have much impact.
Can you please 🙏🏼 do a video for your truly and my everything and please Include the deluxe version and the bonus songs
you should do one of these albums review but for Rihanna and Beyonce. I quite enjoy it.
my opinion:
sweetener - best album overall
tun - best lyrics
positions - best vocals
Except 'off the table' who is ok,every song, even on the deluxe version are so fucking amazing
Man listen Portions (and deluxe edition) are underrated like hell 😩 Just Like Magic has been my shit recently People should put more respect on the Positions era like actually SIT DOWN AND LISTEN to the full album from start to finish cause people just be throwing it under the bus 🤷🏽♀️ and honestly I’m fine if she doesn’t release any albums rn cause she needs a break and do other stuff besides music and she doesn’t need to cause just look at her Spotify listeners she gains more and more every few days and that’s WITHOUT releasing nothing for 2 years
Next is Nicki Minaj’s Evolution!😫
Do more Ariana videos plz!
She ok coming from Disney like mliey.
Finale?!? 😭🤧🥺 are you trying to tell me it was supposed to be her LAST album???
Hella late on this but it was supposed to wrap up her trilogy left by Ariana healing from her grief (mainly Mac Miller’s death which was caused by him taking it out on himself).
Sweetener was the more bubbly and beautiful stuff about healing, and thank u, next was the ugly part of her grieving. Positions was the album that wrapped up her healing process once and for all, as she found Dalton who treated her right (in which was hella wrong, which is why we have eternal sunshine. It’s her further maturing by the fact that although she hates what Dalton did behind her back, she still has some care for him, but is willing to move on her life and find someone else.)
what is your intro song
Human Nature by Michael Jackson
No, Taylor better swift n all her records are gone now cause midnights broke em
Touch some grass..

Spill
