Saudi Arabia is a fascinating country that has been closed for such a long time, opening up to foreign tourists only recently meaning there are some things that aren't quite 100% ready for tourism. Al-Khobar and Dammam are twin cities, now joined up.
A lot of expats (but not all) live in Dhahran, where the Saudi Aramco compound is.

@@mikidias The Saudi Aramco HQ offices are in Dhahran, but there's a refinery and offices (marketing?) In Jubail. I've been there. I sold them some advertising in my book about the Eastern Province in 2003.
The massive Dhahran compound, near the old airport, houses long-term Saudi Aramco "western staff". The American School is located here. Women could ALWAYS drive inside the compound. It was (is) an interesting place.
As with all walled housing compounds in Saudi Arabia, you need an invitation to get in.
Dabble and Travel possibly avoided these places to have the pure tourism experience. 👍

Oil is found in Al Ahsa - 2 hours drive from Dammam. Actually, Al Ahsa has the largest Oilfield in the world and the name is Al Ghwar field. more al Ahsa is considered the largest oasis in the world, with the most palms trees in the world also
Oil found in Dammam as well, the FIRST oil field discovered called “Oil Well 7” located in Dhahran exactly.

As an STC contractor employee more expats live inside Aramco , they have accomodations inside cos we install internet mostly there for about 2 yrs now

You guys definitely have to visit Al Jubail 😃 it's the cleanest city in Saudi and one of the most beautiful cities in the middle east it's like a different country really , it's 1 hour away from you

Welcome to Dammam & Khobar
Which is the best place you should go after Riyadh. Some people consider it as the best town in Saudi Arabia. But you should know where to go.
For tourist:
- Use the train or saptco vip bus between Riyadh and Dammam-khobar. It's cheap and so easy to book by application in your mobile.
- Ask local people about best places to go if you don't have enough information.
- If you come to Dammam-Khobar you should visit (ITHRA) certainly you will enjoy there.
- Do not visit (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam) in summer (May-june-july-august) you can only visit South region like (Abha) they have a nice weather there in summer.

You need to visit the south
You can take the train from Riyadh to Dmmam. It is faster and better.
Actually there are a lot of things and restaurants on Dammam kornish but it seems like you only visit the Morgan island and it's road...
You should report the costs of your travels in more detail. Like food, travel etc

I always like khobar more than Riyadh and Jeddah , I think most tourists don't know about eastern province and city of Khobar
you were in riyadh, should've taken the train to dammam will only cost u probably $30 each, and clean and better

Hi , could you help me? I arrive in dammam at friday night ,i have that night , saturday sunday ,and monday till 22:00 when my flight leaves. Will this be enough for dammam and one day in Bahrein or i should cancel the ticket and get a 4 or 5 days ?
Dammam needs a few hours. The rest you can spend in Bahrain. Both very small!
