Just like everyone on here is saying, hands down the best comparison and review video on yt!! I do have a question idk if you will know, if you turn off the mirror dash cam screen and just have it as mirror reflection; does it still record??
Trying to decide between the two - amazing detailed video. The Pro is really compelling except for the rear camera in low light (11:59) - frequent driving scenario for me. I think they're stringing you along with the firmware upgrade - they'll be "working on it" until they release the next Pro model at which point they'll just tell you to "upgrade". The issue comes from within the rear camera controller itself - how it chooses to adjust exposure based on lighting conditions. They can't update the firmware on the detached camera controller so the only thing that they can do is a cheap "fix" where they post-process the image by adding brightness/contrast which will be basically useless. The rear camera firmware / controller is probably from the image sensor manufacturer so they probably can't even update it in newly manufactured reverse camera units.
@@jku392adventures Thanks for getting back to all commenters - it's rare to see youtubers doing that. I saw in other comments you mentioned that the cameras are not compatible and if installing the G900Pro in place of G900 you can leave cables but you have to swap rear cameras. I'm wondering if you actually have tried to use the G900 camera on the G900Pro. I know they are different and WolfBox claim to be different resolutions - but I suspect both of them are communicating via AHD 1080p protocol so they might actually be inter-compatible. Is this too risky to try ? Im asking because G900Pro with G900 rear camera would be best solution since G900Pro rear camera sux in dark.
@alx_256 I try to reply to as many as a can 😂😂 it can be difficult hahaha But I saw on their Facebook group , others have tried and it simply doesn't register that there is a rear camera connected when you plug in the g900 camera into the g900 pro. But yes! I agree that the combination would be perfect. But I personally have not tried it myself
I don't know what Sony sensors are used in $600 Lanmodo Vast M1 or $300 Akeeyo NV-X, but their frontal image looks amazing in the low-light conditions. It's been almost 3 years since the release and none of the companies decided to use those sensors in the rear cameras. None of them let you mirror (horizontally flip) the frontal image to be able to use it in the back. Instead they're adding useless features like voice control. That's so frustrating
Despite the washed out colours of the back camera, the G900 Pro is the superior choice in terms of image quality because of the better dynamic range and overall lowlight performance. I'm expecting mine any time now to my door step and this video made my so hyped about it.
You will be so happy when you install it! It's such an amazing dashcam, and the front camera can actually be used for footage like you had a GoPro mounted on the front
One thing interesting is that I want to mainly use this as a rearview mirror. The Starvis 2 sensor is important I think but what no one is telling in any of these reviews is the sensor in the rear camera is not repeat not the same as the front sensor.
@@jdagreek on Wolf box website they give more details about the front and rear cameras on the g900 pro all the way at the bottom of their page advertising the g900 pro
Yup the G900pro handles noise much better. Seems it also supports HDR better. G900 pro crushes the blacks too. I’ll have to play with the exposure and contrast and get a better image
Thanks for comparison. Rear camera difference in your video are mainly due to different brightness settings … otherwise it would not be noticeable. Now I know that there is no reason for upgrade
yeah the 900 pro rear reverse camera is not as clean looking as the g900. it looks like the colors are washed out at night. but the 900 pro looks sharper and less grainy then the 900
I agree 100% , the g900 is a lot more grainy during the day and night. Way more at night. And yeah the g900 pro looks washed at night, but during lit environments, the g900 pro is still better at night. And way better during the day
So I’m not seeing my question answered in the comments so I will ask away. What I need from a rear camera is brightness and lit-ness to see everything that is behind my Ford F-150 ( bout 2014 model or so ) at night when reversing. I will be having the VIOFO A229 Pro 3 for quality of details within letters and such. Again I just need actual visibility when reversing in the worse-case-scenario darkness wise for backup camera. So which is better in this case, because it looks like the g900 model is. Though you say they’ll send update to fix it for Pro model I’m not sure how long that would take- if ever. So?
@@matterof9554 good question. If you already have a high quality dash cam, currently the g900 is better for low light visibility in the rear camera since the "fix" has not happened yet. Definitely the g900 will be good for you. Hopefully the fix will help the pro, but for right now with your situation of already having a quality dash cam to catch licence plates, id recommend the g900 🤙
So I purchased and installed the G900 Pro. I really like but.... Can someone ask Wolfbox why they removed the capability to adjust the rear parking lines? (meaning length and width) The G900 has it. Also I think they really need to update the firmware for the rear camera. If the G900 was about 100 dollars cheaper I would probably buy it instead until they work out the kinks for the G900 Pro. One thing I would really miss is the Voice Control. Voice Control adds safety and convenience to the driving experience. Very good review between the G900 and the Pro, Kudos! BTW: If you plan to buy this or any other brand you will lose access to the factory mirror auto-dimming feature and as well in my case Genesis I will lose access to garage door opener and Genesis Bluelink (which I no not use) What I'm trying to say your OEM mirrors features will not work because of almost impossible access to its buttons and builtin sensors.
Thank you for your comment, I do agree that they need to adjust the rear camera brightness and washed out look, they have already told me they are working on a fix, but yes you do lose some pictures that are on your stock mirror unless the buttons are on the bottom of the stock mirror then you could still technically use those features like if you had lights in the bottom of your mirror. And I agree the voice feature is actually really useful
@@jku392adventures Thanks for mentioning that. I just watched it. Nice video. I'm going to get that mirror camera. I really need to see behind me when backing up. I have a Four Wheel Camper on my F250, so I'll need to order some extra cable length.
Did you have the rear view camera mounted inside the rear windshield or outside ? Also I plan to solely use this as a digital rear view mirror, would u still pick pro over 900? 900 seems grainy at night but brighter
I don't have any glare issues at night, and it's nice because if they have their brights on, the reflection would only be as bright as the screen, not as bright as their headlights in your face
Wolfbox really need to add HDR to the front camera. It defeats the purpose of having the Starvis 2 sensor because even with headlight reflections, Starvis 2 shows the plate numbers (when HDR is present).
Great video. Question: While the camera is in rear view mode looking out the back, does the dash cam continue recording what is happening in front of the vehicle even though you are seeing what is behind the vehicle....and vice versa? Thanks for your timely reply. I am in the market for a dash cam.

You would be good to go, besides unplugging the rear camera at the rear of the vehicle since the camera isn't compatible. But the camera wiring is compatible, and all the other wires are also 🤙
Is that temperature something I should worry about especially if I’m on a road trip? With this being a Lithium battery is there a chance it over heats when I’m parked and it’s life span possibly decreasing
I would not worry about the temperatures, I just got done doing a week-long off-road trip in the deserts of Southern Utah and each day got close to 100° and there was zero issues with a dash cam. Also I live in Phoenix Arizona and it gets hot here 😂🔥 and I haven't had any issues

I talked to them last week and they say they are working on the fix, hopefully it comes out soon and I will let everyone know with a new video once the fix is released
You could zoom in to make it similar to a factory review mirror, but that will just distort the image, and in my opinion the benefit of having these mirrors is how wide of a view it gives you and it keeps you safe from your blind spots
I will be mounting the rear camera on the inside of my F150 through tinted glass. Do you think I should cut a small square of the tint out for the camera?
I think it should be fine looking through the tint. For my front camera I used to have a tint brow and when reviewing footage half of the video would be tinted, that was annoying, but if the whole footage is tinted it should be fine
Usually keep the angle of the screen aimed down so I don't see the reflection of cars or headlights through the mirror but I only see it through the camera so the high beams or glares of the headlights is not terrible
The thickness of the g900 pro is a little bit thicker, but the screen size is almost identical, it's possible it's a tiny bit larger but not really anything most people would notice
Definitely durable, it will obviously not look as clear as water drops are on it, but that's the same for any car camera or camera in general. Just need some water repellent on it

Colors are a bit dull and less vibrant, also at night the glare from the the lights of the vehicles coming up behind u is too much for the rear lense. Wolfbox should make a Polarized lens cap for the Rear Camera as well.

When i installed G900 pro on my car mirror in XUV 700, IT keeps on vibrating even though i have put some foam in between also proper rubber tightning is used. How can I fix this. What I am watching in your car is that it is not vibrating at all
Sorry for the late reply, is it your factory mirror that is vibrating? That would be my main guess because I have never had a wolf box mirror vibrating against a factory mirror that is not vibrating
It does have the parking mode, you just need to purchase the hardware kit so you can power it that way. Not through the cigarette lighter plug that comes with it
not impressed with either model. Most new vehicles has an imbedded sensor for high beam darkening, temp, etc. I would like to see included in the dash/mirror cam is a license plate reader. The main reason for the dash/mirror cam is proof in case of accident, hit and run , etc.
$300 on their website yet I bought a $150 Android Auto 10.6" widescreen just to use as a rear view mirror and the night image quality is far better than this one. Plus I bought it on an auction and paid $15 bucks for it.
It's about $50 more for the pro. And you get a way better camera during the day front and rear. The rear camera is still better at night in Lit environments, imagine when you need this camera the most is when a car hits you and tries to run away, you're going to see the license plate better on the g900 pro. Also sure wolfbox is going to fix this issue of being dark on dark roads so we are all happy customers. Overall it is a superior product and you can tell that when you hold the g900 and the g900 pro in your hands, and my video If you see how much clearer the pictures of the road signs are with the g900 pro
oh my god all these cameras have absolutely terrible image quality, color and brightness. compare with the mirror above. you won't see anything in these screens in bright daylight.
From my experience using both cameras, the front camera of the g900 pro is so much nicer and creates more usable footage when off-roading, compared to the g900, the footage is not as nice and more grainy. What the rear camera of the g900 during the night looks better, but during the day the g900 pro rear camera looks better
You only use the wifi to transfer media from the dash cam to your phone, other than that you keep the wifi off. It's super nice and easy to use, definitely love this feature

not impressed with either model. Most new vehicles has an imbedded sensor for high beam darkening, temp, etc. I would like to see included in the dash/mirror cam is a license plate reader. The main reason for the dash/mirror cam is proof in case of accident, hit and run , etc.
Thanks for your comment, I hope wolfbox see it and takes some of those ideas! That would be awesome!
$300 on their website yet I bought a $150 Android Auto 10.6" widescreen just to use as a rear view mirror and the night image quality is far better than this one. Plus I bought it on an auction and paid $15 bucks for it.
Out of the two which one do u like better? I just ordered the pro but after the nite view next to the regular 900 Iam
Second guessin it
It's about $50 more for the pro.
I've been happy with mine for quite some time. I don't have that issue
G900 is far better camera in my opinion. Idk why anyone would pay extra for the g900 pro
From my experience using both cameras, the front camera of the g900 pro is so much nicer and creates more usable footage when off-roading, compared to the g900, the footage is not as nice and more grainy. What the rear camera of the g900 during the night looks better, but during the day the g900 pro rear camera looks better
BEDT REVIEW EVER, THANK YOU!!!#HANDSDOWN
Hey! Thank you! Much appreciated 🤙
Wolf box needs to also know about the washed out look that the rear camera has
What are you exactly referring to? So I can let them know. Can you give me an example on my video?
Does it eat up a lot of your Wi-Fi and do you keep that on the whole time?
You only use the wifi to transfer media from the dash cam to your phone, other than that you keep the wifi off. It's super nice and easy to use, definitely love this feature
So stupid, one clearer and ones brighter.
🤣🤣
