Thank You " Osterholm Update ". To the volunteers, staff, and Dr. Osterholm. With my busy life, I have found that the content of this channel is not only invaluable but an important public service to the English-speaking world. Without question, Dr. Osterholm has surrounded himself with competent professionals in order to share (condense) decades and decades of experience associated with important public health issues. What I believe gives the "Osterholm Update" real-world credence and importance. Are the underpinnings of the updates, a collage of wisdom that represents a macro comprehension of managed medical care, public health policies, government policies, national security policies and the political influences that affect every part of disease development/progression. In the end, what is important in one's comprehension gained only through one's professional development, is the ability to recognize the existence in what actually constitutes " practices " and/or " policies ". Seriously? You are snowed right, once a Mushroom, always a Mushroom, I guess🤦‍♀️
The sun doesn't always shine, the wind doesn't always blow.
Solar panels bust when hit by hail. They need cleared when it snows. The whole system would need shut down to replace any panel. Do have any idea how much area would be needed to power a medium size city?
      What about the Battery Storage??
Climate controlled (no pun intended) storage for enough batteries to supply a City overnight, (possibly for days in winter) Do you even have a Clue!
I bet you don't, but I DO! My brother was off grid for over 15 years!
Not only do you need panels to "capture" the energy, not only do you batteries to "store" the power, you,,,,,, I bet you don't even know the critical 3rd item?? I'd love to wait to see if you know, I don't have time and you would probably cheat and google it ANYWAY!🙄
      You'd also need an
      Inverter!
That's a component that takes the DC voltage (usually aprox.12) and boost it to AC current, (standard outlet 110v ,with 220v for certain applications) but the transmission lines, oh never mind, either this is completely over your head, or you'll make something up, pretending everything is Hunky Dory and all ready to go!🙄

If you’re over 65, please be careful with the high-dose (extra strength) flu shot they give to seniors.
My Dad got it for the first time & he was miserable on the couch for 5 days.
He insists he must have caught a bug while standing in line at the pharmacy, because he read the insert which says product “cannot cause influenza”.
That might be technically true in a laboratory setting, but who cares if the side effects can *feel* like the worst flu of your life?!
My Dad has been a vocal flu shot supporter for 40 years, but I think this is finally the end of his love affair.

Can we agree it’s important to leave honest testimonials like this up for the public to read, so everyone can make their own decision?
For some people, the benefits will ALWAYS outweigh the risks. My father was in that camp for 40 years- until just recently.

I think it would be a good idea to keep a database of those who get conjuctivitis to see if it makes any differece if we do get a recombinant. The chances that the study will reveal anything worthwhile are probably low but medicine needs to take advantage of situations like this when the opertunity arises,.
