I also installed the intake on my pilot, and I wanted to know that if when driving (not idling), does your car make a sound; kind of like when a cars fan turns on then off for a second , and does it happen continuously?
I did as well on my NEW 2022 Ridgeline RTL AWD and after a few days, codes 1. P0171 (Fuel System Bank1 too lean). 2. P0174 (Fuel System Bank2 too lean). Re-installed the factory air box and no codes. Called AEM Tech Support and all they said was they had not tested the 2022s, AEM Tech Support not much help. I had the exact AEM intake on my 2017 Ridgeline RTL-T 2WD for several years and never a code. Wish someone could explain…
@@longshanks5531 I did, it’s back stock. However, it really sounded great with the AEM. Funny that when I reached out to AEM tech support they had nothing to offer, kinda like they could care less… Meantime it’s stored away till someone can come up with a solution. Thanks for the chat 💬
Same thing happened to me with my 2022 Ridgeline AWD. I had it installed with no codes on my previous 2017 Ridgeline. Wish someone could actually figure out the real problem causing the codes so we can install. It DID sound great on my 17.
I'm not 100 percent sure on if it will work on passport model. I've heard others having issues on the Pilot with AWD, my vehicle is FWD touring model and have had no issues or CEL.
It will fit the 2015 models, however, I have heard from others with AWD that it has been giving issues. Mine is a FWD Touring model and have had no issues.
hi, sorry to hear you’re having issues with your install. Did you try to unplugging the negative terminal from the battery and make sure all the intake hoses and vent hoses are on tight and snug? also check the MAF sensor that it’s connected correctly. I had to reinstall mine a couple times because I went to the dealer to cover a warranty issue and I didn’t want them to see my intake. One time I reinstalled it, I did get a CEL. I didn’t get to see what codes they were as I just went back and made sure all the hoses were on correctly and snug with the clamps and reset the battery and the CEL never came back on. hope this helps. worse case scenario is to just go back stock and have the dealership look into it since your car is brand new and still under warranty. I’ve heard our cars are notorious for some emission and transmission problems ugh! anyways hope this gets solved!
No check engine light problems with mine, had mine one for almost a year. Hmm 🤔 did you reset the negative terminal before installing? Sometimes MAF sensors are glitchy/sensitive and thinks it’s getting more air than usual and it will throw a code.
Nice video really love the sound. I have 2019 Honda passport and just wondering after intake install dose it give better gas mileage or just power or lose a little gas mileage. Atm I got about 20 miles to a gallon, do I get a little better or will lose a little just want to know from person that experience first hand. Thanks keep it up sir
Don’t do it More air does not give you more mpg it does the opposite In order to get the most benefits, it will need a tune which is not available. Only things I would recommend are the S-VCM disable , transmission maintenance , oil change, 91+ octane fuel
Have you done any suspension upgrades or change the shocks and struts if so which brand did you use because they stopped making the KYB for the 2016 Honda Pilot 🤔
Please help .. I also live in so cal and have a 2021 pilot and want a AEM intake kit like you installed but everything I found says not legal for California. Not sure if the years are different for the California legal kit. Please help. Thank you
I had purchased mine from here: throtl.com/products/aem-cold-air-intakes-aem21-795c and they shipped it to me with a Carb sticker. I was unaware that they won't ship it now though? It must be a new law with emissions for California.
The one thing missing is telling us if the new intake increased horsepower and/or improved gas mileage (even if it's only by a few digits)??? Spending $300 just to make your vehicle sound louder is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of, it's only worth it if there are actual gains.
I swear this V6 sounds so good. We have a 2004 model and it still sounds as good as this without a AEM intake. Very good video :)
Thank you
I always love the J series sounds it never gets the love it deserves
Lol I want to get this for my mom. She loves her pilot and she rips it all the time
you should lol it’s so much fun! takes the boring out of daily driving for sure!
Nice! Sounds sweet. Lady Wanderlust is beautiful BTW

I can wait to installed in my 16’AWD PILOT
Love the video and the installation I have a 2022 hondapilot and love to do the Same thing. Also love the black out
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my video ✌🏾
Interesting to learn ! Nice information
Glad you liked it
Is this similar to the process for a earlier year pilot like 2013
I returned my intake when Ridgeline Dyno tests showed it reduced 0-60.
Can’t wait for mine.
You're gonna love it!

Where did u purchase ur AeM intake?
I got the 2021 pilot touring. I wish I could tune it.
I got code errors throwing off my AWD and so did a buddy of mine that got his installed. Once we took it off we never saw it again. Why is that?

Hard to buy online in CA now. Regulation for emission probably changed 😢
Need this on my passport
Did you have to tune car after?
What model do you have? Is it AWD ?
2019 Honda Touring FWD

Have you consider installing oil catch can in your car? I have the 2022 Trailsport and I can’t find any video doing the oil catch can for Honda Pilot.

haven't tested it out to see if the intake gives it more power
Did your check engine light came on? Mine came 80 miles after installing with 4WD problems.
No check engine light problems with mine, had mine one for almost a year. Hmm 🤔 did you reset the negative terminal before installing? Sometimes MAF sensors are glitchy/sensitive and thinks it’s getting more air than usual and it will throw a code.
I just installed mine into a 2021 pilot. I’m getting every warning/error message possible
@tannerrussell3619 have u found a way to fix the error code?
Does the sticker for the intake come with all intakes from AEM?
Sticker did come with my intake, not 100 percent sure if it comes with other models but for this specific model it did.

Hello sir. i just wanna ask if thats fit on a 2022 honda pilot Special edition? if yes! please send me the link. thankyou
Hi yes thanks for stopping by and checking out my video. This will fit a 22 Honda Pilot. Purchased from Throtl.com
throtl.com/products/aem-cold-air-intakes-aem21-795c
pretty sweet. did it improve your fuel economy?
and... does this void the manufacturer's warranty?
no it did not improve fuel economy . and anything done to engine may possibly void warranty.
Good afternoon I have a 2019 Honda Pilot and I installed the same intake and my check engine light keep coming , what do u think it could be
FWD or AWD? i've heard others having issues with their FWD but i've had no issues with my AWD
Have you done any suspension upgrades or change the shocks and struts if so which brand did you use because they stopped making the KYB for the 2016 Honda Pilot 🤔
no suspension work or changes to the shocks
Would you recommend this for my 2019 Honda Hrv..?
I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with the HRV
Next: MDX intake plenum ( upper and inner) + throttle body
I’ll definitely look into. thanks!
@@TechTalkWithAdrian could you please hurry up on mdx aem intake installation

Could this fit on a 2022 Honda Passport?

I got mine from Throtl but bought mine before CA made them illegal?
got mine from Throtl awhile back
What's your thought on VCM disabling device? Have you experienced anything bad from VCM function?
I have it and love it
No issues, my 2019 Pilot 6AT FWD feels better then before.
Haven’t experience bad mpg
I’m still getting the same as before
I wonder what it sounds like though.
forward video to 15:38 thanks 👍🏾
Any real horsepower gains?
You won't see any gains from a intake only sound and less restrictions. Throttle only let's in same amount of air .so no increase all sound
haven't tested it but it feels faster
does it fit the new 2021?
It fits the 2021pilot I installed it just coming up with emissions & AWD problems

Gas mileage?
With econ mode on the hwy it's 28 miles to the gallon
@@TechTalkWithAdrian maybe better question would be mpg in general? My pilot gets between 17-20 city 25-30 highway depending on conditions.
SO, more air in with this intake, but with the restricted stock exhaust? No bueno!

Even if you gained 5HP it’s so negligible that $300 spent is better invested into retirement account. This is not the vehicle to modify for power.
