Thank you for explaining so well and not assuming we know what Rx and Tx mean! I have been flying for 2 years and you’re telling me things I have been doing without knowing why or what they mean!
Congrats on 10k Matt! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I've been recently getting started on my FPV journey and you're by far the most genuine and authentic FPV youtuber out there, thank you!
was looking for this video for a long time, just got an Analog cinewoop and was wondering to to go about transferring to digital, awesome explanation and direct, keep the awesome videos coming!
Despite having already done all of the upgrades your videos show, they way you present is so well thought out and clean that I find myself watching anyways :)
Not rising fast enough you deserve wayyy more subs man you made me get into fpv ive always loved rc things but never heard of fpv until recently so I jumped in head first now just waiting on deliveries its killing me, need to get my radio and that should be be ready
As an intermediate pilot, this is very clear... and the whiteboard/marker illustrations are what I'd expect from only from a professional marketing video... very effective. The only thing I have to offer is that if you find your camera-to-Vista cable is too short; there are after-market solutions that are longer, so you can adapt the Vista to larger frames in the best layout and weight distribution. Also, use a small desktop fan when working on the flight controller to dissipate the solder fumes, and likewise, with the Vista powered-on to add airflow and keep it cool.
Good video. For the people that have a nazgul 5 and would like to fit a vista without buying the new frame, it’s possible. Steps: 1) Remove your vtx, antenna and camera. 2) Turn your esc + flight controller 180 degrees, so the battery leads and capacitor face forward. Watch Joshua Bardwell’s video to configure this correctly in betaflight. 3) Remove the receiver. 4) Mount the vista vertically on the back using double sided tape and zip ties. 5) Fit your receiver on top of your flight controller with zip ties to the top plate 6) Zip tie your battery cables to a standoff on the side to keep it away from the props. 7) The antenna fits perfectly ;) I’ve been flying like this for some time without any problems :)
For the beginners that want to learn how to solder, find an old non working electronic device and where you see the power cord soldered to it, just practice soldering by connecting and disconnecting the solder joints with a soldering iron.. Great way and a low cost ( soldering iron) to learning how to solder. 🖐️🤠 Great video Matt, subbed your channel!
Thanks Matt, very clear video, I have been on the fence after getting Fatsharks with a Rapidfire Module and still wasn't good enough...LOL, I think this helped me make the decision to start my Digital journey,,,not saying goodbye to analog completely ,,,just start with one for now...keep up the great work friend.
excellent video. well made, all the information, you didn't assume any level of pre-existing knowledge, yet it was concise and informative. thank you very much. keep up the good work.
Very helpful! I really appreciate how you explain everything even the “basics” like acronyms and specifically what each thing is like uarts. Helped clear up a lot of confusions for me, thanks!
Way to go matt, ive been watching you since you started and love your vids. Wish i had the time to do what your dooing. Keep it up you will go far in the hobbie
Great explanation and video !!!! The easiest part is to click the pairing button :D I will try your instructions when I move to the DJI system. Thanks for the video, you have my suscription and like
Matt, one thing yo may want to mention is "as the user is taking apart the drone, each step along the way take a good high res photo of the connections and components" just in case you need to re-do something.
Just bought a used protek 35 with no caddx vista or tbs . Just spent an hr trying to figure it out before finally downloading the diagram. Just so happens this video popped up as well 😁😎
thank you for this video!! I plan on switching to digital in a few months edit: theres a really good soldering tutorial from Mr. Steele on his channel you should link that one in the description
Very nice explanation Matt. Converted my 1st drone the summer. Prefer the DJI system as the on board video is better quality (frame size) than the goggle video.
Like button smashed. Man you're way too modest. I just bought a vista unit and that was hands down the best step by step guide I've seen. I've replaced components like receivers and vtx's so I already know how but I'm always looking to learn more or a better way. This should really be helpful to newcomers. I found it exceedingly so. I don't think you missed anything. Anyway just sayin give yerself some cred bro. This is valuable info. Thanks
Thanks Matt that is the best and clearest explanation of how to connect the vista ... I will also have to mount without screws was the sticky pad enough? Cheers Phil 😊👍
Hi Matt, thankw for the video. Very good explanation. I am too going to convert to DJI very soon. The only 2 things I guess missing from the video is attaching antenna to Vista unit (because I heard/saw it's tricky) and adding capacitor to vista some where... Altho I know it's not essential but highly recommended.
Hey Matt, if you are ever strapped for certain electronics or hardware check out RScomponents or Mouser, amazing range of stuff and also normally pretty good delivery :)
You need to slow down in upgrading, i dont have the money for the dji goggles yet mate :D Thanks for the nice video again, your content is just on point!! road to 100k :)
aaah fark da pooolice.. Sorry to hear dude, its llegal here in Australia too but thankfully no-one harasses you about it. The local park where ALL the r.c flyers go has a sign "no r.c controlled vehicles allowed" but if you fly round here, thats where you go. Hope you can get in the air soon, im just starting out too and i cant recommend it enough, when the goggles go on, life stops and its just you and the air up there.
Serious question. Did you have any video/editing experience before this channel? Your style is so aesthetic and everything on point. Keep up the good work
Great video definitely I'll re-watch it when I'll be upgrading my Protek 35 to digital :) Small comment at 8:44 - the 7.4-26.4 is voltage not "power" ;) Unit of power is Watt. Weird that they labelled that in their instruction.
Good deal. im on the list for v2 goggles , if they even exist , lol . got a vista coming that i'll probably throw in my taycan. hope it fits in the 2.5inch version but i'll make it work. it'll be a lot lighter than analog cam + gopro, might stay under 250g with small battery.
A cheap investment that you don't mention is a smoke stopper definitely check your continuity via a multimeter but before you plug your battery in attach a smoke stopper then the battery and power up. If there is an issue the smoke stopper will cut the power before it does damage to the esc / flight controller
Great detailed video instructions.....even though you converted analog drone to digital goggles, does that mean you would not be able to use an analog rc such as the tx16s
Great video as usual and right on time. I’m also planning to upgrade some of 5 inches to digital and my nazgul5 was in the list. Just learned in that video that it won’t fit without replacing the entire frame with the Xl V2 version :( So I will have to consider upgrading my lal5 style instead :)
You can make it fit in the nazgul 5 with a bit of work without buying anything new. I left a comment in this video with some steps to achieve it. I converted mine and works great
@@jfrowiess I was considering only resoldering the capacitor on top and may be the main battery lead and that would make enough room for the vista. Anyway, i'm yet to receive it.
That could also work, the trick is to fit the vista vertically. Also, you can change your standoffs for higher ones, but I did not like the fact that the quad becomes higher
Hope you guys find this helpful!
buy a smoke stopper it really helps

I have the Nazgul HD and Shendrone squirt, about to hook 2 up. Saved the video just to be sure! Awesome vid!

Exelent explanation, easy and clear to understand.👏👏👏
I appreciate the hard work put into your video.
So pumped when I saw this was a taycan! As you can see by my profile pic I’m switching to digital too and this is the one quad I need to convert!

Did the same conversion with an Air unit, should’ve sticked with a vista and saved weight, Nice Hakko! It’s the real deal

Great channel for us beginners .. i have the nazgul 5 & trying to convert to digital. Still struggling...wish I got the nazgul HD but oh well 🤦
Nice Vid!
