    Robert, thank you for this tractor review video. I will be purchasing my first tractor soon and it’s good to get honest feedback from folks on what to buy and what not to buy. Take care and I’ll see you down the road…

    The older you get, the nicer those cabs are.

      @@PheasantLaneFarm well I have 6 other tractors and I am a one man band.
      Seriously though, I find myself going to the Kubota just because it is so much fun to drive.

    From what I gather, the L series HST was great for you, and you need to buy an MX cab with a shuttle shift to support.

      More or less yes. When we bought this property we bought the 3901. At that time I didn't know I would be injured at work, and our plans for this place would change so much. The 3901 has its place, but we need something larger with much more loader capacity, yet I don't see a skit steer as a fix all.

    I toyed pretty hard with getting an L4701. Just couldn’t justify the cost when I already had tractors

      That was my problem at the time too. Money was tight with buying a tractor and house in the same week.

    This a simple issue. You've outgrown your tractor. You shouldn't complain. It's not big enough for you. Sell it. Get a bigger machine. Prob solved. My Grand L 4060, it can lift 2k pallets no problem, its rated for like 16 or 1800lbs but I have lifted wet GA sand that picked my water filled rear tires off the ground and kept lifting the bucket. But what might serve you better is an mx series from Kubota.

      It's simple to a point, we have places on this property and others that a larger tractor wouldn't work well. Hopefully someday I can find a nice used M series and keep the 3901. I've been in both the l6060 and mx6000 and I don't think it's a solution. But they are great machines!

    Completely agree with the review, I have the same tractor with about the same hours. Do you have the hydraulics shimmed for a little more capacity?

    • @PheasantLaneFarm
      @PheasantLaneFarm  6 месяцев назад +1

      I never did. My loader seemed to be at the top of the spectrum compared to others I've seen.

      @@PheasantLaneFarm mine wouldn’t move a loaded tote of firewood when I first got it, I shimmed it and it’ll at least do that now. They definitely need rear ballast no doubt.

      @batterpm11 for sure. I have loaded tires and still like to have something on the back.
