    Point that toe at the target!! Great video as always

    • @howtohockeytraining
      @howtohockeytraining  2 года назад +6

      This video is only focusing on the motion of the bottom hand, we covered the top hand role in another video. If you watch slow-mo video most of the toe pointing happens after the puck leaves the blade, and does nothing. It does have it's place, but there are situations, especially in close, where you want to keep the blade open and drive the face of the blade towards the target.

    • @BecomeEliteHockey
      @BecomeEliteHockey 2 года назад +5

      @@howtohockeytraining I agree there's situations where you have to leave the blade open but I've noticed when coaching, kids especially, they don't the lower hand strength to shoot with an open blade. That fluttering puck many beginners (who I assume this video is for) seems to go away when you instruct them to point their toe on finish. Whether it's really the toe point that makes the difference or it's just a mental cue that forces a different body mechanic during the shot doesn't really matter if the result works. Didn't mean any hate by any of this, you inspired me to make my page, just sharing my opinion!

      @@BecomeEliteHockey the more people helping the better! With the younger kids the weight of the puck often forces their blade to twist open, so that toe point helps them put some more emphasis on keeping that from happening. There is an effect for sure from pointing the toe, I just wanted to highlight another often overlooked aspect.

    • @BecomeEliteHockey

      if they fit length wise but not on the waist try adding a tighter belt. Try replacing the belt with a lace if you can't find a normal hockey belt

      @@BecomeEliteHockey I have intermidiate medium pants and im 5 9 with a very slim waist what suspender size do i get junior senior?

    • @BecomeEliteHockey
      @BecomeEliteHockey 2 года назад +1

      @@LiterallyDuckie at 5'9 i would assume only senior suspenders would fit. I'm also 5'9 and wear senior medium pants so I'm curious how well those pants actually fit.

    • @howtohockeytraining
      @howtohockeytraining  2 года назад +2

      See if you can pull the belt tighter. If they're not falling down it's not a huge issue. If they are bugging you and can't find a way to get them to fit more snug you could always try another pair on at the store and see if you can find a better fit.

    ( beginner) for the moment I'm just trying to hit the net without a bounce ! I punch my top hand but don't get the snap very often (made a few nice shots though).

    • @tbhidk3296
      @tbhidk3296 11 месяцев назад

      you should first go slow with the snapshot and break it up. I used to struggle with it but make sure you flex your stick and put your top hand out a little and push It back as fast as you can. also, use your legs.
