Body is from hard plastic and looks way more realistic! Having said that, if you want it to last, you have to take care of it more than the original body.

Get a Dremel crafting drill.......watching you cut out a hole with a solder iron...Sheesh...lol

if you dont want to chop the bed up like that I would recommend cantilever suspension in the back so the shocks are laid down to clear the bed
