What is important for salah is to give your whole heart to the salah not just its form but be with your whole heart in salah, in love with salah, in love with being 'abd to your Rabb, to your Creator. Talk to Him through your salah. When you recite Fatiha be joyous for praising Allah, be happy! Be humble in your heart, and in love with your connection with Allah. Only then you will reap the best benefits of salah. One man said deeds of love are deeds from which you don't expect return or account. Think of salah not as mandatory, yes it is mandatory but as long you think of it as that shaytan will easily trick you into not praying. Think of how salah is your Connection to Allah, your 'israa and mi'raaj as Muhammad s.a.w.s. says. You are created to be His 'abd, be that with love to Allah, for He is Al Wadud, the one who loves. Love your rope Allah has put down to you. May Allah give light in our hearts clean it from the mud and dirt and sins. And may Allah give Love to enter our hearts. Ameen.

Seven good deeds that have the same reward as Hajj:
    1. Remembering Allah from Fajr to sunrise.
Anas ibn Maalik (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Whoever prays Fajr in congregation then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak’ahs, will have a reward like that of Hajj and Umrah.” He said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “In full, in full, in full.” (Tirmidhi)
Some scholars have also mentioned that a woman may pray in her home and do the same thing mentioned in the hadith to get the same or a similar reward.
It’s tempting to pray Fajr and then jump back into bed, but staying a few moments longer to do dhikr while waiting for salatul Ishraq (sunrise prayer) will earn us the incredible reward of Hajj and Umrah.
    2. Going to the masjid for congregational prayer.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever performs ablution in his house and then goes out to perform the obligatory prayer in the mosque has a reward similar to the reward of a Hajj pilgrim. Whoever goes out to perform the [non-obligatory] mid-morning prayer (Duha) has a reward similar to the reward of the one performing Umrah.” (Abu Dawud)
In another hadith, Abu Dharr (RA) narrated that a group of the Companions came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy people will have higher grades and will have permanent enjoyment and they pray like us and fast as we do. They have more money, which they give in charity.” The Prophet (PBUH) replied: “Has Allah not rendered for you the ‘Isha prayer in congregation equal to Hajj, and the Fajr prayer in congregation equal to ‘Umrah?” (Muslim)
SubhanAllah, no matter our means, Allah has provided us with ways to easily seek his mercy.
    3. Performing Friday prayer.
A Sahabi by the name of Sa`id bin al-Musayyib reported that performing the Friday Prayer is “more beloved to me than a Nafl (supererogatory) Hajj.”
Only Allah knows the exact reward for Friday prayer, but the fact that it was more beloved to a companion of the Prophet (PBUH) than performing an extra Hajj speaks volumes about its importance.
    4. Performing Eid prayer.
The Companion Mikhnaf ibn Sulaym (RA) said, “The reward for attending Eid Al-Fitr prayer is equal to the reward of performing ‘Umrah and the reward for attending Eid Al-Adha Prayer is equal to that of performing Hajj.” (Lata’if al-Ma’arif)
Eid Al-Adha is around the corner! Make sure that you attend Eid prayer safely, and set your intention to reap the reward of Hajj. Tell your whole family too!
    5. Learning and teaching in the masjid
Abu Umamah (RA) reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever goes to the mosque not desiring except to learn or teach what is good has the reward of a pilgrim who completed his Hajj.” (Tabarani)
Sometimes when we hear of a class taking place in our local masjid, we may feel like it’s not necessary, or that we don’t need the lesson. But the reward for seeking knowledge doesn’t depend on what you already know, but the desire to learn. Make the most of any opportunity to learn at the mosque, and, inshaAllah, you’ll gain the reward of Hajj.
    6. Being good to your parents
The Messenger (PBUH) commanded one of the Companions to be good to his mother. If you do so, he said: “You are a Hajj pilgrim, a person performing `Umrah and someone striving for the sake of Allah (mujahid).”
Parents - and especially mothers - undoubtedly have a very high rank in Islam. To serve them and be good to them can earn one the reward of Hajj. How generous is Allah (SWT) who has placed opportunities for us everywhere to earn His forgiveness!
    7. Fulfilling the needs of your Muslim brother or sister
The 7th Century scholar, Hasan al-Basri, (Allah have mercy on him) said, “Going to fulfil the need of your brother is better for you than performing Hajj after Hajj.”
What an underestimated act of goodness! We often think of worship as something strictly between us and Allah, but worship is also the things we do for Allah’s creation for the sake of Allah.
This Dhul Hijjah, there are so many people who are struggling to access food, healthcare, and safety. Give your Qurbani and help us to fight malnutrition, and support our long-term transformative that empower local communities with education, healthcare, and clean water.

These days it can seem the world is crumbling with news headlines of war, terrorism, gun violence, hate crimes, murder etc. There can be times in life when everything around you is grim and depressing. Life is tough. Even at home, nothing good may seem to happen for you. Financial crisis, job loss, death in the family, sickness-the list goes on.
It can be easy to lash out all this negativity and stress to people around you. But life would get more miserable and you will not be happy. It is your choice on how to deal with this turbulent situation. Do you want to see the glass half empty or half full?
    1. Be Steadfast in the Deen
Hardships and calamities are experienced by everyone and it can sometimes be very hard to respond to these calamities when they strike. It may be common for many to lose hope. Reconnecting with the Deen can help in many ways to instill positivity and hope. Take this adversity as an opportunity to get closer to Allah. Allah even says in the Quran, “And We have sundered them in the earth as [separate] nations. Some of them are righteous, and some far from that. And We have tried them with prosperity and adversity in order that they might return” [7:168]. Whatever state and level our faith is in, use this time to improve and turn towards Allah, the only one who can turn things around for the better. This is the number one thing to peace of mind as Allah also states, “Verily in the remembrance of Allah, hearts find rest” [13: 28].
    2. Express gratitude
Even in times of struggle, it is important to stop and take an opportunity to express gratitude for the positive things happening in your world today. Practice gratitude. Remind yourself of all the blessings you have and talk about these things with the ones who are closest to you. Acknowledging the positive things in your life will actually make you calmer, even when bad things happen.
Expressing gratitude isn’t about ignoring your current problems. Rather it is about accepting life’s trials and becoming more humble, knowing that it is not us who created our successes and accomplishments, rather it is Allah who brings both hardship and happiness.
In Islam, times of hardship and tribulations are seen as a test from Allah and can be a means to gain reward. As stated in the hadith, which is narrated by Anas (may Allah have mercy upon him), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Great reward comes with great trials. When Allah loves a people, He tests them, and whoever accepts it attains His pleasure, whereas whoever shows discontent with it incurs His wrath.” [Tirmidhi]
In this hadith, we learn that those who practice patience in times of difficulties will gain reward for their endurance while those who show ingratitude and displeasure with Allah’s decree end up in a situation where not only will they have to go through their current hardship but will also suffer the consequences of being discontent with Allah’s decree.
Knowing there are rewards to benefit from in the end should be a motivation to be positive during turbulent times.
    3. Have a Positive Support Group
The Prophet Muhammad greatly emphasized the importance of having good companions. He mentioned the metaphor of the blacksmith and perfume seller to explain this point. “The example of a good companion (friend) in comparison with a bad one is like that of one who sells musk and the blacksmith. From the first, you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell, while from the blacksmith you would either get burned or smell a bad scent.” [Saheeh Hadith by Bukhari].
That being said just goes to show how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. The people who you spend time with the most are most likely the ones who will influence you. Surrounding yourself with positive people will not only help in negative situations, but also inspire you to have a more optimistic approach in life. Nobody wants negativity in their life and a negative person is like a bad apple in the group-try to avoiding them at all costs!
    4. Take Care of Yourself
Going through distress and calamity should not mean sleepless nights and being miserable. A great deal of negativity can occur when not taking care of yourself properly. Keep some time out for yourself just to reflect back and have a peace of mind:
    Be Active
Whether it's a full blown game of basketball or a quick walk in the park, being active is one of the greatest stress relievers. Exercise can help clear your mind and allow you to deal with your problems more calmly and effectively. Try different physical activities and challenge yourself. Changing your daily routine can bring a breath of fresh air and take your mind off all the things that are going around you.
    Sleep Better
Lack of sleep can make people crabby and be very negative. Many studies show that sleep and mood are closely connected. University of Pennsylvania researchers found that subjects who were limited to only 4.5 hours of sleep a night for one week reported feeling more stressed, angry, sad, and mentally exhausted. When the subjects resumed normal sleep, they reported a dramatic improvement in mood. It is a bad idea to skimp on sleep when you are already going through hard times in your life.
Try going to bed on time. Of course, avoid all sorts of caffeine. Eating healthy is also another way to improve sleep. Studies have shown eating Magnesium and Calcium rich foods help relax body muscles and prepare it for sleep. When it’s time to sleep, putting away all electronics such as cell phones, tablets, and computers away is very vital for better sleep. According to WebMD, melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that helps regulate the sleep/wake cycle. Melatonin production is affected by light exposure, particularly the blue light that emits from the glow of electronics. Put these away from your bed and turn the lights off.
    Find a hobby
Find an activity that interests and you want to continue learning or doing whether it is reading a good book, cooking, art etc. A hobby can be one of the best means to release the stress and negativity going on.
    Do good for others
Helping others is one of the best ways to bring positivity into your life. Volunteering in a local center or aiding a family member can bring a smile that may just wipe away all the despair and negativity you were experiencing during your tough time.
    5. Know Things Will Get Better
Understand that there is light shining through that dark hole and things will get better. Allah the Almighty promises us in the Quran, “Verily, with every hardship comes ease” [94:5]. All of that patience and remembrance of Allah will pay off, one just needs to have Tawakkul or trust in Allah. Any promise made by Allah is a guarantee. We can have peace of mind in the knowledge that most hardships are temporary, and relief is soon to follow.
And when things do finally get better, one must remember to thank Allah and never forget him, for he is the grantor of all happiness and all success.

Below is a short list of some dhikr/remembrances that you can incorporate into your day. The goal is to make these beautiful praises of the Creator come up from your heart and roll off of your tongue with ease.
    1. Quran: Ultimately, the best dhikr is reading the Quran.
    Reward:
You will be rewarded 10 rewards for each letter read. This prize basically illustrates the weight of the Quran in terms of where it should be in your life and the importance you should give it. Seeking Barakah of the Qur’an is worth more than hustling to increase our social status or profit margins - these things will die with us in this life and will add to nothing to us in the next if they weren’t mindful, done with the right intentions and aligned with our purpose in life.
    2. SubhanAllah or SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi
(“I praise Allah (or All praise if to Allah) above all attributes that do not suit His Majesty.”)
    Reward:
A tree will be planted for you in Paradise. Nice! Start growing your own forest right now! Another hadith relates that whoever says this 100 times a day, his/her sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as the foam of the sea [Bukhari].
    3. Alhamdulillah
    (“All praise is for Allah”)
    Reward:
Your scales will be tipped on the Day of Judgment, full of rewards!
Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Purity is half of iman (faith). ‘Al-hamdu lillah (all praise and gratitude belong to Allah)’ fills the scales, and ‘subhan-Allah (how far is Allah from every imperfection) and ‘Al-hamdulillah (all praise and gratitude belong to Allah)’ fill that which is between heaven and earth.” [Related by Muslim]
    4. SubhanAllah wal hamdulillah, wa la ilahaillAllah wa Allahu akbar
“I praise Allah (or All Praise if to Allah) above all attributes that do not suit His Majesty. All praise is for Allah. There is no deity worthy of worship besides Allah. Allah is Great.”
    Reward:
This combination of dhikr is the one most beloved by Allah, subhana wa ta’ala. When you say them, sins fall off of you like leaves off of trees.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The uttering of the words: “Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection), Al-hamdu lillah (all praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)’ is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.” [Muslim].
Also Anas bin Malik narrated that the Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) passed by a tree with dry leaves, so he struck it with his staff, making the leaves fall. Then he said:
“Indeed, ‘all praise is due to Allah, (Al-Ḥamdulillāhh)’ ‘glory to Allah, (Subḥān Allāh)’ ‘none has the right to be worshipped by Allah, (Lā Ilāha Illallāh)’ and ‘Allah is the greatest (Allāhu Akbar)’ cause the sins to fall from the worshipper, just as the leaves of this tree fall.” [Jami` at-Tirmidhi]
    5. La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
(“There is no power or might except (by) Allah.”)
    Reward:
You will enter through a special door in Paradise for those who oft use this remembrance.
Qais bin Sa`d bin `Ubadah narrated that his father offered him to the Prophet (ﷺ) to serve him. He said: “So the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by me, and I had just performed Salat, so he poked me with his foot and said: ‘Should I not direct you to a gate from the gates of Paradise?’ I said: ‘Of course.’ He (ﷺ) said: ‘There is no might or power except with Allah (Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh).’” [Jami` at-Tirmidhi]
    6. SubhanAllah (x33), Alhamdulillah (x33), Allahu akbar (x34)
Can be recited after salat and before you go to bed/sleep. (“I praise Allah (or All praise if to Allah) above all attributes that do not suit His Majesty. All praise is to Allah. Allah is Great.”)
    Reward:
We know that this dhikr is said after each salah, but when Fatima raḍyAllāhu 'anha (may Allāh be pleased with her) the daughter of the Prophet came to her father requesting a servant to help with the household, the Messenger of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) told her to repeat the dhikr before her sleep and the results would be better than having a servant.
Abu Huraira reported that Fatima came to Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) and asked for a servant and told him of the hardship of household work. He said: You would not be able to get a servant from us. May I direct you to what is better than the servant for you? Recite Subhaana Allah thirty-three times, al- Hamdu li-Allah thirty-three times and Allah-o-Akbar thirty-four times as you go to bed. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Suhail with the same chain of transmitters. [Sahih Mulsim]
    7. Astaghfirullah
    (“I seek Allah’s forgiveness”)
    Reward:
You will get protection from Allah’s punishment. In Surah Nuh, ayah 10-12, Allah relates the story of Prophet Nuh 'alayhi'l-salām (peace be upon him) and how he instructed his people to seek Allah’s subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) forgiveness. If they would just say “astagfirullah,” Allah would send them rain in abundance, and increase their wealth and children, and give them gardens and rivers in Paradise.
“And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. [Qur’an 71: 10-12]
    8. Ayahtul-Kursi [2:255]
“Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
‘Allahu laaa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huu. ‘Al-Hayyul-Qayyuum.
    Reward:
When you recite this verse before you go to sleep, Allah sends a guardian to you and no shaytan will come to you until morning. Those who read this after each salah shall enter Paradise.
Narrated Muhammad bin Sirin: Abu Huraira said, “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) put me in charge of the Zakat of Ramadan (i.e. Zakat-ul-Fitr). Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff of (Zakat) with both hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ).” Then Abu Huraira told the whole narration and added “He (i.e. the thief) said, ‘Whenever you go to your bed, recite the Verse of “Al-Kursi” (2.255) for then a guardian from Allah will be guarding you, and Satan will not approach you till dawn.’ ” On that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He told you the truth, though he is a liar, and he (the thief) himself was the Satan.” [Sahih Al Bukhari]
Use these adhkar (supplications) often and mindfully as a way of seeking Barakah and being in Allah’s presence. Say them as you draw close to your Creator and He will always remain by your side.

Healing all. Raising the dead. Casting out demons. Controlling nature.
Brutally beaten to pulp. Dying on a cross, to pay of mankind's debt for its fall. Raised from the dead.
Pouring out His Holy Spirit for you to be indwelled by and learn to walk like Him in unselfish love and divine power.
Just like His first 12+72 friends, i and many experience up to this day. Healings, demons running for cover, tangible presence of God.
What a love, power, grace, mercy of God.

    Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported:
The Prophet ﷺ, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday will have a light between this Friday and the next.”
    (al-Sunan al-Kubrá)
    Aws ibn Aws reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
    “Verily,
the best of your days is Friday.
    Adam was created on it,
    on it he died,
on it the trumpet will be blown,
and on it the shout will be made.
Thus, send blessings upon me often,
for your blessings are presented to me.”
    They said,
    “O Messenger of Allah,
how are our blessings presented to you after you have decayed?”
    The Prophet ﷺ said,
    “Verily,
Allah Almighty has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the prophets.”
    (Sunan Abī Dāwūd)
    Imam Shafe’e used to say,
“I love to send plenty of salat upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ all the time and I love it more so on the day of Jumuah.”
    (Kitabul Umm)
    Narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allah
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim who asks Allaah for something but He will give it to him,
