I like to think that Marty's 1955 pay phone call to Doc Brown (before arriving at his home) was what caused Doc to slip while hanging the clock. That way, Marty would have inadvertently helped Doc Brown invent the very time travel that would send him back to 1955 to make that phone call.
This would create a paradox. If the phone call is what caused him to slip and fall, then how did Marty originally get there to make the phone call? The future cannot happen before the past. The events of how he created time travel cannot include Marty, as these events need to be separate in order for Marty to able to be a part of them.

No lies. I am a MASSIVE BTTF fan. I've watched countless behind the scenes, making of docs, and my close friend actually worked on the second film. You managed to find some nuggets I've never heard before nor caught in the movie. Well done!!!
The surname prefix "Mc" means "son of", so since Eric Stoltz was playing the son of Jeff Goldblum's original Fly in The Fly 2, that means he went from Marty McFly to Martin son of the Fly.
I'm 31 years old and back to the future has always been my favorite. They are nostalgic for me but also deeply entertaining. They were perfect in all of their ways, it didn't take itself TOO seriously but also made rules and set the tone for time travel movies for years to come
Spielberg wasn't worried someone would use a fridge to survive a nuke, he was worried kids would climb into refrigerators. That's a legit fear because children have gotten trapped in abandoned refrigerators before. Ones left out in places like a junkyard. Older fridges had a latch on the outside only so they can't be opened from the inside and even newer ones are still an issue because the door could get blocked. There were even PSAs about it. Spielberg had a good point.
There was a Punky Brewster episode in which that exact thing happened to Cherie (part of the plot involves a CPR lesson at school, and Punky ends up saving Cherie by performing CPR on her). That shit traumatized me as a kid!
As an adult and seeing this movie as a kid, I have a completely different look at it. Marty never got to see his family become what they are at the end. It basically was a shock. The childhood he experienced never happened. To me, that's freaking sad.
The explanation I’ve heard from somewhere, is that over time his new present would become _his_ present. Similar to how that the photo of his siblings started to fade away while he was in 1955 and his life was being erased by a change in 1955, his old life memories (from his original childhood) would fade and all Marty would be able to remember eventually would be his new life (after his life changed due to his going back in time). They could have canonized this in the later entries, but they didn’t. So we’re just left to guess.
@@jeffreycarman2185 Sounds better than how Cracked said would happen, basically that Marty was destined for a rubber room in an asylum because of his memories not meshing with reality
The honeymooners episode didn't actually air until the following month and was missed in the video. It was released in 1955 but... in the future: The Man from Space After travelling back in time to November 5, 1955, Marty McFly watches it with his future mother Lorraine Baines and her family, describing it as a classic. In reality, this episode aired on December 31, 1955 while The Sleepwalker (1955) aired on November 5, 1955.
In the original timeline, Marty's brother Dave works for Burger King and in the revised timeline, he's wearing a nice suit. I like to think that he still works for Burger King, but as a district manager or at the franchising office. Dave worked hard and made his way up the ladder.
If he was a district manager he wouldn't be wearing a suit. More than likely he would be dressed in a pair of khaki's and a polo shirt with Burger King on it. I know this because I worked in fast food in this era and that's how the district managers usually dressed when visiting the stores. Also, the word you're looking for is ladder not latter.
@@garygarside9782 I don't think he was. I think Dave came over, lent his parents his car (theirs was being waxed by Biff) so they could go play tennis while he had breakfast.
A few years ago, my wife and I sat our young teen son down and said we were watching the BTTF trilogy since we were snowed in. He complained that he didn't want to see "some crappy 80's movie". By the time the train scene was happening at the end of 3, he was jumping up and down on the couch, cheering for Marty and Doc at the top of his lungs. Edit: my grandparents LOVED this movie.
Statler is also shown throughout the trilogy, according to Bob Gale himself with Statler Toyota manufacturing the 4x4 Marty drives by the end of the first and last movie. They sold horses in 1885 and Studebakers in 1955.
Marty's parents also watched him grow and morph into the guy they met for a week in high school. when you look at photos of people you've known for 20+ years they look so different but you never noticed they really changed. Without a photo to look at and compare, they'd never notice the similarity.
Doc Brown hanging off the clock is an homage to the 1923 silent film "Safety Last!", where Harold Lloyd famously hangs off of a clock...for real. One of the most dangerous stunts of all time (as time travel also would be).
Forced perspective is a heck of a thing that makes people believe something that isn't real. Lloyd was reasonably safe (considering safety standards in 1923) filming that movie, and also had a stunt man doing a lot of the scenes since Lloyd's insurance company wouldn't allow him to do them himself.
I wasn't going to watch this breakdown because I've seen so many of these Easter egg videos on BTTF and the dvd/blu ray extras etc but there was still things I overlooked. The gift that keeps giving. Great thorough breakdown.
I was fortunate enough to be on both Hill Valley square sets before it burned down. I was on the Backlot of Hill Valley square in the 80's and then again on set when they were filming the 2015 future Hill Valley square scenes with all the futuristic cars, freeway on ramp and images. This has to be my favorite Trilogy Movie of all Time. It's amazing how much time has past since first watching this movie many decades ago.
The mayor and the homeless man are not the same character. As an actor, I've worked with Courtney Gains who played the bully who put the kick me sign on George, and cut in on his dance. @34:30 The Eddie Van Halen music in this scene was written for another film that starred Eric Stoltz and Lea Thompson called "The Wild Life" in 1984. You can hear the whole song in that film. Wild huh?
Some trivia no one would know but me. I was the VP of Advertising at Universal Studios Florida when we opened the Back to the Future ride. When we produced the TV commercial for the BTTF ride we chose Dean Cundey to direct the tv spot. Dean was the Director of Photography on all three BTTF films.
The Doc Brown/Marty relationship may be based on Prof. Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel in Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. In the 1959 movie, Alec McEwan is a student of Prof. Lindenbrook and engaged to his niece, Jenny. Notice that Marty McFly's girlfriend is called Jennifer. Neither Jenny/Jennifer join the hero on his adventures. In Part 3, Doc Brown reveals that Jules Verne is his favorite writer and names his children Jules and Verne.
The Gibson es345 was actually first produced in 1959. This is something I’ve been pointing out to people for many years. But great work on this break down I look forward to a second part
I'm so happy you started doing these classic film reviews. Every time I watch one of these it reminds me of why I've been obsessed with movies my whole life. Keep it up Mr Paul Spoilers!
Suffocation deaths in refrigerators is a real thing and that's why you're required to remove the door when discarding one. What's changed is kids aren't outside playing hide and seek and most people are having refrigerators removed with the purchase of a new one instead of putting it on the curb themselves.
I’ll NEVER forget when I got to meet Christopher Lloyd at New York Comic Con when I was in middle school many many years ago and got to take a photo with him. BTTF is one of my all time favorite trilogies and the first one is a TIMELESS classic **get it? 🌚**
One of my favorite movies of all time, no pun intended. My sister and I watched this countless times growing up, I have every line memorized, and yet it's still one of those movies that I can always watch if I'm flipping through channels and happen to find it. It's a comfort movie. Also, I just gave my sister a Back to the Future ugly Christmas sweater for her birthday lmao. AND YET.... how have I never realized that Red the Bum was also Mayor Red in 1955? How did I miss that my whole life??
Mayor Red and Bum Red aren't the same person that was straight up falsehood. Mayor Red's photo was that of Hal Gausman, a set decorator on BTTF, and Red the Bum was played by George "Buck" Flower.
As for "left handed people", it wasnt awkward, it was the catholic church citing "left handed usage as a sin". My father dealt with this himself in school.
Went to one school for a few months while moving, and they made me write with my right hand as a lefty, and then tried to hold me back a year because my handwriting wasn't good enough. I'm glad I didn't stay there long
I am a clockmaker. And in addition to making and fixing clocks, I also collect them. My house is starting to look like Doc's house. That being said, I used to have a Regulator just like the one you pointed out. They are nice clocks. Very easy to fix. Great job on the video! Already watched part two, now waiting for part three.
The concern of the fridge was that on the films release there were many fridges still in use and in junkyards that shut via a latch and couldn't be opened from within. An issue not addressed till around 1960. Any kid who climbed in couldn't get out again and unless found, would die of asphyxiation - something that sadly occurred all too often.
Kids climbing in fridges was deadly once upon a time. My dad told me a story about kids playing hide and seek at the dump and one kids hiding in a fridge with a latching door. He died trapped in there before they found him!
Here trivia for you. The kid that kicks George in the hallway and later tries to cut in at the dance is Courtney Gaines, who later featured more prominently in Children Of The Corn and The Burbs.
The Hill Valley sign in the town square also contains another nice detail. In the 1955 version, it is positively plastered with the logos of service clubs like Lions International and the Rotary Club, who presumably all have branches in the town. This serves to emphasise both how prosperous and how community-minded the citizens of Hill Valley are. In the 1985 version, those logos are conspicuously absent, illustrating how the town has fallen on much harder times.
I absolutely love your channel. It's my favourite on YT. I have a pretty good eye for details, but you ALWAYS find some extra things that I have missed. Top work!
When I was 8-years old I walked to the mall by our house and watched the trilogy in the movie theater. When I walked out of the movie there were cops all over and one starting staring at me then started chasing me. I ran and ran while he kept yelling stop but I was terrified. I finally did stop after 10 of them circled me in the food court. Come to find out my mother thought I had been kidnapped and there were over 300 Mesa police looking EVERYWHERE for me. The cop asked me, "why did you run"? I told him, "you were chasing me!" Anyways, it was a great trilogy.
Mesa, AZ? Was it Fiesta Mall? My dad lived in Mesa when I was a kid, and I remember going there on occasion. I saw recently on Wikipedia that it's become another abandoned mall. Sad.
You honestly have shown me some stuff I never saw on any other video or media. Been watching this movie all my life. Saw part 2 in the theater. Best movie franchise ever. Thanks, mate. Stop getting sick! Hahaha. Merry Christmas, Definition.
Also are you aware that there are several moments in the bttf trilogy where marty supposedly died and doc had to go back in time and restart the timeloop from a certain point to save martys life? Like in bttf pt.2 when marty jumps off of the casino before biff can shoot him doc is mysteriously able to predict when and where he needs to be to catch marty jumping off the building. Another time in the second movie towards the end. When marty is trying to hoverboard through the tunnel while being chased by biff. Doc knows when and where to drop a line down to save marty. The implications being biff ran marty down like a dog in the street. Also doc uses a strand of flags from the construction on lyon estates from the beginning of the movie. The only way doc would know to save the rope and when and where he would need it is if he watched marty die several times. Its even implied he knew he would need to save marty at the beginning of the first bttf movie like he knew marty would try to save him, because of the time paradox of doc having the note in his pocket. So the theory goes... that doc spent all of bttf 2 saving marty because marty saved doc with the note in the first movie. Which makes sense when you remember the third movie had marty traveling back to the old west to save doc yet again. Only to have marty die and end up in clint eastwoods grave which causes doc to save him again, and the third movie is essentially them saving each other.
I've been hearing those theories for a while, but there's absolutely no proof to any of them in any of the movies showing that it's all fan fiction instead. If you start adding unneeded explanations for "how did Doc know to be there?!" for things, then you may as well start using that EVERYWHERE in the movie besides just those specific points. "How did happen so perfectly? Oh, that's because Doc had to go back in time multiple times to make sure it all worked out!"
You pointed out "Orgy American Style" on the theater marquee, but missed the fact that the homeless guy on the park bench is portrayed by George 'Buck' Flower, an actor who actually starred in Orgy American Style (1973)?
Incredible breakdown! Back to the future was the second film I ever saw when I was three years old right next to an HBO recording of the sandlot and it continues to be my favorite film of all time. And little nuggets of information I heard from this break down completely blows me away. It’s pretty common knowledge that Eric Stoltz was originally meant to play Marty but I had no idea that they had another actress for Jeniffer as well in the form of Jan from the office. Can’t wait to see the other two film breakdown.
The 1955 mayor and Red the bum are not supposed to be the same character. The Brown mansion didn't burn down because of the fire extinguisher being emptied in the demonstration for Marty. The mansion also burned down in the unaltered timeline (where the ledge on the clock tower is still intact and the mall is still the Twin Pines Mall) without Doc interacting with Marty. 36:32 "Now back at Doc's we see he's trying to watch the end of the tape but he refuses to hear what happens next. However, as we know, he'll eventually play it." That sounds like the tape had something to do with him knowing about his fate, but he learns that from the letter. He actually watched the tape to the end in that scene: Marty stops filming when Doc screams to him that he should run, and we hear that when 55 Doc plays the tape. Somehow many people seem to think that Marty had filmed Doc being killed. 40:22 "And Marty tells Lorraine his true name." He already told her when she pointed out the name on his underwear. In fact, in this scene here he doesn't even mention his name. 40:32 There is another reason for this composition. Michael J. Fox is short, and having the much taller Crispin Glover or Chris Lloyd in the background makes it look less awkward for them when they talk to each other. (The height difference is also the reason why Doc is often hunched over when he stands next to Marty.)
I really enjoyed this video! I'd say about half of the things mentioned were new to me. I also appreciated your theory on the DeLorean stalling out for a bit after Marty was scheduled to start his approach. I've always felt like there was a huge room for error, as they really had a full 60 seconds to account for the lightning strike and the Doc's plan was so precise. (I know, I know... I'll shut up now. A little suspension of disbelief goes a long way towards enjoying a film.)

Every line of dialogue in this movie can be quoted without context and it’s instantly recognised! Also.. I named my son Emmett because it’s just so damn classic.
The filmmakers confirmed that the homeless man is NOT the mayor from 1955. They said that the mayor wouldn't even be alive in 1985 because he was old in 1955.
@@abegarfield7031Obviously it's the same filmmakers. That was clearly a joke. Is the point you're trying to make that if a person tells a single joke then that means EVERYTHING they say is a joke and they can never be trusted to be honest? Because that's dumb. It's not the same actor. They even said that it's a common misconception that it's the same actor. The whole point of the interview I saw was them trying to clear up misconceptions about the films. They were clarifying things that people considered plotholes or just general questions people had. Also, Marty refers to him as "Fred". Listen closely with subtitles and you'll see.
100% not the same character. The math doesn’t add up, even if people think the two Bob’s can’t be trusted to be honest. It’s not the same character. Period.
41:22 The Delorian not starting is a easter egg referring to the reliability of the car. The car had a steel exterior but a composite chassis which could not provide ground for the 12V system. So the engineers put in special ground points , wich corroded after a short time , leading to problems with all the electronics in the car. There was an story of the CEO stuck in the car for several minutes during a presentation due the electric door locks not working any more cause of a depleted 12V battery.
every time i watch this movie it reminds me of life in the 80's as a kid. the vhs for back to the future was our very first in the house. i probably watched that vhs a thousand times.
At roughly 28:35, talking about “another one of these kids jumped in front of my car”. Maybe George did, or maybe Loraine was an exhibitionist and George heard about her from other boys in class.
There is a small but common error here. Marty isn't, in fact, wearing a life preserver. He's wearing what was, in 1985, a pretty standard red bodywarmer (AKA gilet). A simple sleeveless jacket that was fashionable in the 1980s and which, believe me, you would want to use to try and stay afloat out at sea! They aren't buoyant in the slightest! These bodywarmers were fairly commonplace in the '80s but hadn't been invented in the '50s which is why everyone in 1955 thinks it's a life preserver. Because they'd never seen the like before which is why when Marty wears it in the '80s people recognise it for the normal everyday bodywarmer that it is and nobody bats an eyelid. Given that bodywarmers have made a bit of a comeback lately, I'm surprised that the mistake of thinking it is, actually, a life preserver is still so commonly made.
21:18 and the other part at 21:21ish That always stood out to me in the movie, Biff making an "Do you believe this guy?" expression to Marty and Marty smiles slightly. Never was really sure the thinking there.
I really enjoyed this series, thanks man. Here are a few extra bits for you: 1) The Honeymooners episodes (such as the one where Ralph dresses up as a man from space) were being broadcast for the first time in November 1955. However, that particular episode didn’t make its debut until 31 December 1955, the producers obviously just thought it was a better tie-in to the movie. The actual Honeymooners episode making its debut on November 5 1955 was called The Sleepwalker. 2) Regarding “If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything”, I always thought it was really cool that you see Doc Brown practice what he preaches at the climax of the film: there’s a particular bit where all looks hopeless: the Delorean is on the move, the Doc is on the clock tower and the cables are detached. The Doc quickly assesses the situation, sees what needs to be done, then gives a very focussed, determined look on screen for a second or two before making the first reconnection and saving the day in the nick of time. It’s a film I often rewatch with the kids and it’s one of our favourite bits. 3) Regarding the climactic part of the George/Lorraine story where the middle 8 of “Earth Angel” is playing and it looks like some jerk has ruined it (“Scram McFly! I’m cutting in!”), Marty is fading away and all suddenly looks doomed again. However, this doesn’t really make any sense at all: Marty does nothing at that point to change anything, and George still comes back to reassert himself and notionally save the day. If he was always going to do that, then there shouldn’t have been any peril for Marty at that moment.😂 It does make for an amazing moment right at the end of the middle 8 though: “The vision of your happiness woah-oh-oh-oh-oh… Earth Angel, Earth Angel! Please be mine…” Awesome. Anyway, keep up the good work. We always laughed about those awful little doll things (Funko Pops) in the shops and wondered what kind of person would buy those. Now we know! 🙂✌️
That’s not a punching bag, it’s clothing bag the military used to use. Shaped very similarly to a heavy bag, however the heavy bag would be too heavy for Marty to lift a with one arm like that.
12:37 In the opening scene when Marty cranks the amplifier to play his riff, I always thought the recliner Marty lands in from the speaker blast was a reverse image of the maxell audio advertisements…
A number four would be good, not nowadays though it wouldn't feel the same, it would have to hit all the woke marks. Maybe a story with jennifer parker having to go back and save marty, would still be ok if written properly.
Naming their kid Marty kinda kills the "do you remember a kid you met for 8 days 30 years ago" explanation. And the year book scene would have killed it even more. Either way George and Loraine are having a very awkward conversation about why their son looks like that Calvin/Marty kid from back in the day.
That's not true, I had a crush in school I still remember his name, but for the life of me, I can't remember his face, maybe some people do remember faces, but other people don't
You can remember someone existed and that you liked their name, without remembering what they looked like, especially if you only knew them for a week, thirty years ago! Yes, even the face of someone important to you (like someone you feel is responsible for introducing you to your spouse), can become blurry and indistinct over the years. You also have to take into account people's perceptions. My friends' parents look old to me. My own parents, who I've seen regularly for my entire life, don't. From my point of view, I've seen my parents age a little bit every day, and the changes happen so gradually that their aging goes almost unnoticed. My friends' parents, on the other hand, I see so infrequently that any aging they do in between is blatantly obvious; they clearly look very different than when I last saw them. To Marty's parents, they first saw him as an infant, looking nothing like "Calvin Klein," whose face they'd probably already forgotten, whom they were around for only a few hours over the course of a week, decades ago. They then saw their son gradually age, every day, until he finally looked like the Marty who went back in time. However, by that time, they hadn't seen "Calvin Klein" in 30 years, whereas their son has a face they've been looking at all his life. Marty's parents not realizing he's a dead ringer for "Calvin Klein," someone they barely knew and haven't seen in three decades, is perfectly in line with how the human brain works; it's fairly well-trod scientific ground.

@@therealking6202 😂 I swear I just did the exact same thing 😵💫
The surname prefix "Mc" means "son of", so since Eric Stoltz was playing the son of Jeff Goldblum's original Fly in The Fly 2, that means he went from Marty McFly to Martin son of the Fly.
McBrundelfly?
I think he just accepted what was the new reality, regardless of what happened in his past.
Eric Stoltz, is that you?
@@QC_Charlottean yes
The honeymooners episode didn't actually air until the following month and was missed in the video. It was released in 1955 but... in the future:
The Man from Space
After travelling back in time to November 5, 1955, Marty McFly watches it with his future mother Lorraine Baines and her family, describing it as a classic.
Interesting theory. I like it.
now the burger king cameo makes more sense.
If he was a district manager he wouldn't be wearing a suit. More than likely he would be dressed in a pair of khaki's and a polo shirt with Burger King on it. I know this because I worked in fast food in this era and that's how the district managers usually dressed when visiting the stores. Also, the word you're looking for is ladder not latter.
still living at home though?

Love all these videos. Looking forward to the rest of the series! These movies made my childhood.
Thank you
I'm begging you to do 3 o'clock High, I know you've seen it and love it. 🙏🏽
Lloyd had scaffold around him for the shoot and the hands had to be reinforced so he could wave his legs about.
Yup.@@Hezkezl
I wasn't going to watch this breakdown because I've seen so many of these Easter egg videos on BTTF and the dvd/blu ray extras etc but there was still things I overlooked. The gift that keeps giving. Great thorough breakdown.
Ey thank you so much
I was fortunate enough to be on both Hill Valley square sets before it burned down.
You also mentioned the movie Cat People. I've worked with Lynn Lowry from that film. I love your channel and all your videos. Keep up the good work!
Marty isn't carrying a punching bag, that's a military style "sausage bag"
That's what I was thinking...
that's what i would call it
Yes.
such a great video mate. I get so nostalgic and sad that I never knew I was living in the good times back in the 90's with movies like this on repeat.
Yeah I took movies made in the 80s thru early 2000s for granted too, thinking things would just keep getting better. Boy was I wrong.

Back to the Future is an absolute masterpiece
@34:30 The Eddie Van Halen music in this scene was written for another film that starred Eric Stoltz and Lea Thompson called "The Wild Life" in 1984. You can hear the whole song in that film. Wild huh?
Some trivia no one would know but me. I was the VP of Advertising at Universal Studios Florida when we opened the Back to the Future ride. When we produced the TV commercial for the BTTF ride we chose Dean Cundey to direct the tv spot. Dean was the Director of Photography on all three BTTF films.
One of my favourite movies ever!!! Watched it more than a 1000 times and when I saw that you made a breakdown I couldn’t click fast enough!
Paul, Back to the Future is my ALL TIME FAVORITE movie. Thank you for making this video.
THANK YOU for doing this breakdown. Back to the Future is my favorite movie and trilogy of all time!
The time between when this movie was made and now is greater than the travel back of 30 years....
Also, more time has passed between 'Revenge of the Sith' and today than 'Return of the Jedi' to 'Phantom Menace'. 😢
Who keeps letting this happen?!
Nope. Didn't need that info
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't realize it was Red the mayor from 1955 either lol.
1:50 Fun fact, the official who stands up after their audition, saying "You are just too loud." wrote the song they were singing.
All three Back to the Future parts are masterpieces!
Only just discovered your videos but I must say they’re really great!
@42:18 - Doc Bulletproof Vest looks a lot like the Termination T 1000 when shot. Another Time Traveling movie
Kids climbing in fridges was deadly once upon a time.
My dad told me a story about kids playing hide and seek at the dump and one kids hiding in a fridge with a latching door.
He died trapped in there before they found him!
I watched the trilogy yesterday, I absolutely love it.
Here trivia for you. The kid that kicks George in the hallway and later tries to cut in at the dance is Courtney Gaines, who later featured more prominently in Children Of The Corn and The Burbs.
Malachai!!
In the 1985 version, those logos are conspicuously absent, illustrating how the town has fallen on much harder times.
yeah, freemason organizations are a sign everything is great
I absolutely love your channel. It's my favourite on YT. I have a pretty good eye for details, but you ALWAYS find some extra things that I have missed. Top work!
3:38
Nope. It's the opposite of that. A clock that is moving faster through space moves more slowly through time.
I have loved these movies for decades and watched countless videos about them but somehow every time I learn something new.
Ha, that moment when you emerge from a time travel movie only to find yourself in an alternate timeline where you're a fugitive.
At least the cops knew.
_"Back To The Future is playing. I bet he's there."_
And, then, they let you finish the trilogy instead of interrupting you. 😂
Mesa, AZ? Was it Fiesta Mall? My dad lived in Mesa when I was a kid, and I remember going there on occasion. I saw recently on Wikipedia that it's become another abandoned mall. Sad.
It's a perfect movie and still holds up today.

🤔
I've been hearing those theories for a while, but there's absolutely no proof to any of them in any of the movies showing that it's all fan fiction instead. If you start adding unneeded explanations for "how did Doc know to be there?!" for things, then you may as well start using that EVERYWHERE in the movie besides just those specific points. "How did happen so perfectly? Oh, that's because Doc had to go back in time multiple times to make sure it all worked out!"
Love the in depth analysis! I’m a big back to the future fan and there are facts in the video that I didn’t know
911 symbolism all over it
You pointed out "Orgy American Style" on the theater marquee, but missed the fact that the homeless guy on the park bench is portrayed by George 'Buck' Flower, an actor who actually starred in Orgy American Style (1973)?
Incredible breakdown! Back to the future was the second film I ever saw when I was three years old right next to an HBO recording of the sandlot and it continues to be my favorite film of all time. And little nuggets of information I heard from this break down completely blows me away. It’s pretty common knowledge that Eric Stoltz was originally meant to play Marty but I had no idea that they had another actress for Jeniffer as well in the form of Jan from the office. Can’t wait to see the other two film breakdown.
Stoltz
@@EricRedbear my bad. Damn spellcheck
Graffiti on the highschool wall does not say Loraine del Calvin it's Lorenzo De Caliche which i kinda think is a reference to the Delorean imo
Great job man. Great breakdown and showing some of the more subtle things in the movie.

Every line of dialogue in this movie can be quoted without context and it’s instantly recognised!
Also.. I named my son Emmett because it’s just so damn classic.
36:39. Doc reads the letter. He doesn’t watch the video because there’s no more video. Marty didn’t film him being shot.
Pay attention!
Great scott! I love this movie, and I love this video too! very well done man, very well done/
The filmmakers confirmed that the homeless man is NOT the mayor from 1955. They said that the mayor wouldn't even be alive in 1985 because he was old in 1955.
It's the same actor
and Marty even refers to him
as "Red."
Are these the same filmmakers that claimed hoverboards were real?
What a beauty of a breakdown 👌🏼

At roughly 28:35, talking about “another one of these kids jumped in front of my car”. Maybe George did, or maybe Loraine was an exhibitionist and George heard about her from other boys in class.
Yeah she was a dirty little slapper.
Yes, congratulations on breaking down some new things about the movie because I thought I already knew everything.
Thanks for validating my thoughts on Doc's mind reading machine.
man, i miss this type of attention to details in movies, we dont see that anymore
21:18 and the other part at 21:21ish That always stood out to me in the movie, Biff making an "Do you believe this guy?" expression to Marty and Marty smiles slightly. Never was really sure the thinking there.
Fun Fact Paul...
That was my local mall here in LA. I was on set able to watch the filming AND they watched the dallies in my High School Theater.
Ah nice, that’s awesome
I really enjoyed this series, thanks man.
Here are a few extra bits for you:
1) The Honeymooners episodes (such as the one where Ralph dresses up as a man from space) were being broadcast for the first time in November 1955.
If he was always going to do that, then there shouldn’t have been any peril for Marty at that moment.😂
It does make for an amazing moment right at the end of the middle 8 though:
“The vision of your happiness woah-oh-oh-oh-oh… Earth Angel, Earth Angel! Please be mine…”
Awesome.
Anyway, keep up the good work. We always laughed about those awful little doll things (Funko Pops) in the shops and wondered what kind of person would buy those. Now we know! 🙂✌️
Looooool great way to sign off this comment haha, thanks for the extra trivia
One of my favorite jokes is that the most unbelievable part of the movie is that a DeLorean can get up to 88mph.
Only way it can reach that mileage is on a sloped cliff
Thank You! One of the BEST Trilogies EVER!
Love this channel. This has been the funniest episode I've heard in a very long time.

The out scene in BTF 3 with the flying train, with all the neon lights, and the train whistle is the BEST ending scene EVER!!!!
There's a Martin in his father's family line.
That was wonderful! You got yourself a new subscriber!
9:56 wow🤦🏻♂️ that’s literally just how people swig from bottles! And it’s called… 🥁… a “swig”. Maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard on this channel. AND 10:58 HOW can you tell it’s “almost empty “?? 🙄
