This movie made my 6 year old daughter cry tears of happiness and sadness this is the first time I ever seen my daughter cry from watching something that touched her heart it was a beautiful movie and a beautiful mommy daughters moment.

I was watching this movie when my dad's friend came to our house. He informed that my dad had heart attack in the middle of meeting and passed away on the way to hospital. This song somehow reminds me to that event, but I don't mind it at all. Instead it helped me to remember him, with grateful.

@@Miooooou I can't describe how much I appreciate your comment. I just found out recently that it's one of the defense which my brain naturally built. I immediately felt numb after the news revealed. Though I cried when the burial happened, something in my chest felt blank. Even now I still feel the numbness to the point it's hard for me to empathize with other people (I used to be a quite sensitive person before, though I always failed to show them). Listening to this song helped me to remember the event which triggered my tears in order to relieve the suffocation of those 'hidden' grief.
He meant the world for me, so when he left it was like my world also being ripped.

Believe me I relate to everything you just said. My father, he was taken away from me at a young age. I put on this tough facade, seemingly unaffected, but in reality, the sudden lost broke me in so many ways.

It was just so beautiful, the soundtrack is haunting, the characters are so well thought out and I just love it so much and GAH.

While I was at summer camp I had a dream where I was out on the ocean and heard this song. I awoke to my camp counselor (who slept on the bunk below me) looking at me and when I asked her what was up she told me I was singing in my sleep. My friends proceeded to back her up. Just finished this movie today it was amazing. I really liked the plot, first it tells different tales and later on all the tale become coherent, which they absolutely did amazing job doing it. The stylized art style is main reason why I loved this film so much it just feel magical, while the theme also elevated it really blend well with the art. I was in awe every second I was watching this
This one is definitely up there with the greats like howls moving castle, spirit away and princess mononoke

Yeah! I don't know this studio's name, but the movies of theirs that I've seen have that magic quality that studio ghibli movies have. Not as whimsical as studio ghibli, and studio ghibli usually has more soft worldbuilding than these, but they do share the same sense of wonder. It's definitely fair to compare them
Now, that's what took me by surprise; I normally don't like these much-lauded animations, but Song of the Sea is absolutely captivating and, after seeing the first part of it I'd recorded on to my TV box, I immediately ordered it so I could watch without even having to fast forward through the adverts. So glad I did!

This song reminds me of my Opa who passed away a few years ago. He was a great person and I have many regrets, but this song makes me both cry and smile since he loved to sail, it was a huge part of his life. ThatWeirdGirl yea my favorite movie growing up was Spirit:Stallion of the cimmarron and The Last Unicorn. Both of those were hand drawn and painted and looked so beautiful but today everything is legit based on the same stupid looking model.

A long time ago I was a student in high school (huge shocker, I know) and there was a girl that I took to prom, who would later become the most important person in my life, at least for a time. I liked her, but I didn’t really understand what I was feeling at the time. I didn’t truly get what that feeling was until I had lost the chance to express it the way she deserved. But that night, after prom, I went home and put on a couple movies. This was one of them. It has no other connection to her, or really anything else in my life. But the memory of sitting in the dark with that movie’s ever-present blue palette in my eyes is a special one. Everything felt right. To this day, I think of that night, and of that girl, whenever I see a clip from it.
The other movie I watched that night was Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which holds a little less sentimental value.

I loved this movie so much when I was younger. I haven't watched it in years, and just now I'm rediscovering it. I had forgotten how beautiful this song was.
I watched this movie yesterday and I love it so much. The animation drawings were so so amazing beautiful and so relaxing. I loved the characters to specially that girl. She was so cute from the beginning to the end. And the brother was, was a good brother at last. he became her great brother that he always wanted to be. And I love the story of the movie and the sacrifice of their mother. And overs the song it was so relaxing and peaceful and it give me Goosebumps so many times and still! And in the last scene, my mother, I and my sister we cried much. From then , I don't know why I am always hearing the song everywhere beside me. After all this movie is really good I love the drawings and missions and the characters and the story too.
Sometimes I just watch this movie, not for the story, but just for it's beautiful artwork and music.

I've been listening to this song for years now, and today i finally watched the film at a french festival. There even was Tomm Moore and Adrien Merigeau at the projection, and Moore explained that the idea of the film came to him while he was with his son in vacation and when he asked him about some dead seals at the beach..

Might seem silly, but this song calms my dog down.
He's a very hyperactive dog and it takes a lot for him to relax. We even had to teach him the command "settle" because we would tell him to lie down but he would be so stiff. I came across this song and it really helped me sleep so I played it for him and he fell asleep in the next 30 seconds or so ( granted he was already laying down, but still.) Sometimes when he's really nervous and jittery I'll start to sing this to him and he'll calm down a bit.
When my little boy was born I used to sing him this to get him to sleep, it always worked to calm him down. He’s 2 now and it still works
