    How’s this bike in quality? I decide to get one and I’ll use for five years

      The quality is excellent IMHO. I’ve had almost no issues with the bike so far and I kick the crap out of it. Make sure to do proper maintenance and retighten screws and it will last many years! Good luck

    My blade 2 just arrived at the show room. I pick it up tomorrow, was wondering if there’s anything I should know about it before hand? Are there any issues at all with the bike? How does the 2 battery system work, can you have one at 70% and the other at 100%?

    • @megadavesworld4238
      @megadavesworld4238  2 года назад +1

      The only issue I’ve had so far is that the headlight was crooked out of the box. Had to take it apart to straighten it out. Easy. And yes, you can ride them at different percentages. I’ve read that once they equalize that they’ll start to run in parallel. You can choose to run one battery down and then flip a switch to fire up the fresh battery, or you can run them together at the same time. I personally prefer to run them together at the same time so they’re always draining equally. You’ll notice that the battery stays at 100% for a really long time but once it starts dropping, it drops fast. I consider 90% to be the new 50% and that when I’ll turn around to go home. It’ll make sure you don’t go below 20% when you get home.

    Awesome video! I also live in Calgary, and I just received my blade2 today. This video makes me much more confident about riding it in the winter, as it is my main source of transportation. Have you tried installing studs onto the 20x4 tires? There are no pre studded tires available anywhere in this size. How well does it ride on the icy roads?

      Thanks man! I’ve never used spiked tires but I absolutely would if I can get my hands on some. I’ll probably spike these ones when I get a new set. As for winter riding, it’s totally doable. It does not handle well on ice at all as you would expect but you can definitely make it work. Also snow ruts can be challenging as well. It does really well on hard pack snow. I always warn people to expect to hit the ground hard at least once in the winter, that black ice is tricky! Calgary rocks!!!!🤘🏼

    Great videos Dave! Do you think snow riding would be safer and more stable with an ebike with 26”x4” tires?

      @megadavesworld4238  2 года назад +1

      I copy and pasted this response from my other post to you so others reading this can see.
      -Bigger tires would probably handle the snow better but there will always be sliding around. If you want to ride in the winter you’ve always got to be prepared to crash because it is a lot more likely. The fat tires do handle amazing in the snow but it’s always those hidden “features” that get ya.😎

      Thanks Dave! For this vid, I used a GoPro Hero 7 on a chesty mount, a GoPro Hero10 for all the Slo-mo, and the “floating” camera is a Insta360 One X2. It’s attached to my bike with the invisible selfie stick. You can see it in the shadow at 01:30.

    How has the distance of your blade2 been in the winter? Even if I use the pedals my battery power only lasts as far as 20 - 25 km. Do you think this is because of the negative effects of cold temperatures on lithium ion batteries? The hub motor keeps you from saving battery power by pedaling. Is there any way to remain at a fairly high speed and save more battery power for further distance?

    What psi do you run your tires at for the snow vs summer street riding?

    • @megadavesworld4238
      @megadavesworld4238  2 года назад +1

      I go as low as 12 psi in winter. I usually won’t go lower because you risk pinch flats and that’s a lot worse than the minor traction gains you might get with lower tire pressure. In summer, I keep them around 18 psi if I know I’ll be doin a lot of off roading, and 22 psi if I know I’ll be riding long distances. The best all-round psi would be about 18 psi, it’s good in almost anything.
