In the dim-and-distant days before computer games, children made their own entertainment, they used to make these 'wooden cotton reel tractors' or 'spool tractors' or 'cotton reel tanks' with a rubber engine.
All you need for making this incredible 'old-school' friction toy is an old cotton reel, a slice of candle, a couple of matchsticks and some elastic bands.
