Just want to thank you for such a straightforward, informative video. I watched it a couple weeks ago and my sons and I followed along as we lifted my wife's '20 4Runner. Everything went exactly as planned and took much less time thanks to this video. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the video....I just did my 2013 FJ. Already had Bilstein 5100 with 2" lift/level on the front. Added B12 Spring and rear 5100 Springs. First off I used spring compressors (Iv'e used compressors for years, just take your time!!!). Did drivers side first. Didn't need the compressor on passenger side, it was way easier than the drivers side. I am 100% satisfied, my ride looks complete now with 285/70/17's. Took about 3 hours total.
Bottle jack did the trick!! No spring compressor needed! Thanks for your videos Mike. This video helped me add some Wheeler’s T12’s to the rear of my 4th gen today. I also added wheeler’s T1’s to my front end thanks to your Bilstein 5100 video. It made so much sense the way you did it by disconnecting the ball joint with all that clearance it gives you. No unnecessary removal of pain in the ass tie rods or long pry bars trying to get that strut out! Thanks again! 👍🏻👍🏻
I used a bottle jack to push up against the upper bump stop (press down the axle on the install side)...I still needed the spring compressors to get the new 2" lift coils installed. Ugh. LOL Thanks for your vids. Helped me out tons!
Get MacPherson Strut Spring Compressors and save yourself an hour. All you have to do is jack up the rear from the hitch. I took out 3” lift coil spacers using this method!
Thanks for the video. About what size lift did you do in the rear? I don't trust using spring compressors 😱. Also, really surprised there isn't some type of hardware holding the spring in
I don’t plan on doing any off-roading and was just wanting to install 2 inch front leveling kit, instead of using rear spacers like the green ones on the FJ, would some rear springs like these give me the 1 inch lift i’m looking for without needing to change the rear struts or anything else??
How do those ride ? Right now I have Eibach 1” lift rear springs with a 0.4 OME spacer on top . But I still feel like I have a very slight reverse rake . I’m wondering if the springs from Eibach provide any lift at all or if my front coil overs are just set to high . I’m going back and forth between removing the .4 OME spacer and replacing it with a 1 inch which are hard to find or just getting these springs . But then I’ll have 2 sets of extra springs
why not just unbolt the rear shocks from the bottom?? much easier IMHO….can barely get tools to the top nut without having to scratch up and or bend that fender flange

Have the same Costco jack and been using it for 10 years!
Good morning and love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🤗🤗
Awesome! Got the same coils but HD on my shelf… hoping for next weekend!
Thank you, worked great.
Awesome vid man! Quick Q, do you need new coils in the rear if you plan on add spacers ??
Nice install! What bottle jack is that? Really like the “u” attachment on the top.
Safejack
Nice job. What kind of bottle jack is that?

They have ones that lock onto the spring with push pins. Pretty safe at the end of the day.
Very nice! Great job!
You should change the name of your title to 2003-2024. You might get more views
I notice you said its a 1.5 inch lift but on all the site they say 1 inch lift? so Im confused which one is it. is it 1.5 that settles to 1 inch?
Nice job!!
How tight on that sway bar link bolt?

Hi Mike, where can I find the torque specs ?
Thanks

I may try this but I have KDSS. Could be an issue…
First time I've heard of bump stops outside of a Nascar race, lol
Where is the ride diff?
Brake hose got stretched?
Not at this height... go much taller and that may be an issue.
Awesome
