    Very good tutorial! I usually get the P0332 code and limp mode after a bad thunderstorm and me driving through some puddles. The issue usually gets resolved the next day (after the sensor dries out I guess) but this time it's not going away 4 days after a rainy day. I am going to try cleaning the sensor or replacing it if necessary. Thank you.

      Definitely worth having a look, could be as simple as water getting in at the plug for the sensor too.

    208k miles!!! Mine has only 88k. 2009 Jetta 2.5 - was knocking the day after a crazy rain storm. I hope I didn’t damage my engine 😢. Thank for this video

      208k km, so that would be like 129k miles. It’s up to 224k km now or 139k miles.

      I would check all your fluids if it was knocking after a rain storm and maybe pop the coils out and check the spark plug holes aren’t full of water or something.

    I replaced both knock sensors 4 mouths ago and the light's back again 😒

      Check the mounting and the bolt torque they are very critical to be mounted on a clean surface and torqued to the proper value. Also, if you replaced with cheap sensors they may fail easily too.

    My 2012 vw jetta 2.5 have same code everytime it gets wet because of heavy rain..do you think i need to change the knock sensors ?

      You might try just unbolting them and cleaning things up but wouldn’t hurt to just replace them either. They’re inexpensive.

    What has to come off the car to get up to the sensors, other than the two heat shields? I know you went to the junk yard, but if you buy new ones do you suggest going for OEM ones or autozon/equivalent ones?

      @PBGarage  11 месяцев назад +2

      If you’re planning to keep the car a while I would go for OEM ones so you’ll only have to do the job once. To swap in new ones you’ll need to pull the two heat shields and the engine cover at a minimum to get at the sensors, plugs, and wiring harness clamps. It’s pretty easy.

      Thanks, I bought both for about $180. Hope the GF's car doesn't go into limp mode before I can swap them@@PBGarage

      Finally about to do this, does the bumper have to come off?

      @mrstephenrobb no definitely not. I had it off for other work I was doing at the same time.

      That’s what every car in Canada looks like unfortunately. Salty roads just kill cars.
