4:18 Brad glances out the corner of his eye and seeing Lex enjoying herself so much gives a little grin. Seeing her happy made him happy. That's love man.
Seeing her groove out put a big smile on my face too! 😁 ( I was grooving with Yall)
I've seen him do this many times, it's funny!
, yeah , there is message in this song sort of lost on today's youth. But, I think it is still understood by any man who loves a woman...Brad and Lex are adorable
Seeing her happy makes a lot of us happy, too! Her energy is so pure.
She was rocking 🎸🎤 out. Fun to watch.
you guys definitely gotta do "Tuesday's Gone" now, its such a great song
One of the best song ever conceived.
And then listen to Metallica's version
Metallicas version!
Definitely do Tuesday’s gone then Metallica’s version.
Will do!!
There are a ton of their songs that you could do!
I VOTE FOR "THE BALLAD of CURTIS LOEW" next
That's the only one I want to see of theirs.
YES , Curtis Loew!
my favorite
Love that song
Definitely should, it's one of their best in my opinion
Absolutely *NO* disrespect to Lex when I say this, but Brad felt this song in a way that only a man who only had one good parent could understand. It's OK, brother. This song hits us all that way.
well...that's sad.
Totally agree with you bro
I felt he was very into the lyrics... almost more than any other "Reaction Video" from them I've seen so far, so I wondered... I hope his mother was a good influence for him.
Ummmm no
@@mysonandme8424 indeed, but not wrong
“I don’t really like playlists, I like albums” spoke directly to my soul. I feel you, Brad
i wish i was like that. its so rare for me to like more than 2 or 3 songs on a single album, idk i must be picky.
Totally felt that, too. But I also sometimes find some albums inconsistent. When I do make a playlist, the main criteria is *the vibe*.
@@hughmoore3251 Agreed. If the songs don't fit together on your playlist, you are doing it wrong.
@@cshepard09 what’s wrong with listening to the songs you like. My playlist is way cooler than any album could ever be
@@antagonist8629 nothing "wrong" with listening to songs you like. i think most ppl do. i prefer an album and you prefer a playlist. yet, both of us are listening to songs we like. imagine that. lol
Brad was feeling the lyrics hard….it’s a great life message. God bless y’all.
Very good message to live by
This song always makes me really emotional, a visceral reaction. Just an amazing piece of art.
@@alsantangelo i believe that it even more so with us Southern men!
These are the reactions I live for. Two completely different reactions to the same song. I feel so lucky that Brad shared that special moment with us. It literally gave me goosebumps.
Skynnard is to southern rock as Nirvana is to grunge. They are like the perfect example of the genre.
Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet are both better, IMO...but then, I like good vocalists.
Skynyrd and the Allmans...
@@terrybryant4124 sooo true! To me, th big 3 in Southern Rock is definitely LS, Allman bros & CCR ( although CCR isn't from th Southland, there's Noone Swampier) All 3's catalogs are so deep it's like an endless rabbit hole
I think Alice In Chains is the perfect example of the word grunge but I still agree with your comment.
@@Spiritbro77 Allman Bros all day my man 👍
Two reasons I enjoy your reactions.
1. You don’t waste my time in the beginning. For example, 13 seconds from hitting play on this one, we get the first note of the song!
2. All of the various facial expressions we get from Lex. While her smile is definitely the highlight, the rest are all entertaining as well!!
Amen
All I saw was Brad sitting there and taking in all the motherly advice lol
This song encapsulates the whole feeling of why all of us southern boys love our mamas so much.
RIP Mom absolutely can fight like cats and dogs but I dared anyone to even look at her cross eyed !
What a beautiful pairing these two are , really is a cosy corner of the Internet, I watch to get infected with the good vibes..
And it always hits good
Yes Brad, Lynyrd Skynyrd is definitely "a vibe". I really hope that you will do more songs of theirs. Incredibly talented musicians. Absolutely loved by many.
We're definitely doing more!!
@@BradAndLex Ya'll would really love songs from their live performance at Oakland Coliseum 1977 or at Knebworth 1976. You can't go wrong with either one of those concerts.
@@samuelgirard1407 Knebworth '76 is my fav. Stones fans don't like that one.
@@annaoswald5943 That's because L.S. BLEW the stones off the stage LOL
@@BradAndLex Tuesdays Gone is definitely the same vibe
Hands down my favorite reaction! Brad is all serious , learning something from the words and Lex is at church, lol
.Loved this!
love it when the music takes Lex to church. She feels it so strongly. She flies.
Brad is her rock, her base. Whatta pair! The best part is when she makes her reasons for why she is bouncing off the walls and he looks at her and says, "I understand."
F**k Woodstock, Honey, I want the pill that takes me to that kind of love. "I understand what your heart is saying." Yes.
"Lex is at church"... aptly stated.
Yes, I saw that too.
😆"...and Lex is at church." Ah yeah. 👍🏻😜
You could check out Lynyrd Skynrd's "Gimme Three Steps". It's a keeper.
That’s a fun one too!
One of my oldies but goodies
A classic, along with The Ballad of Curtis Loew
Go real old school when they were still blues, with a song like “Mr. Banker”
Many hearts broke in 1977 when their chartered plane crashed, and 1/2 the band perished.
Their musical souls will always move our hearts. Thank you guys, for appreciating musical genius.
I was working with my dad at the time of the crash . I had been to a concert a month before. He didn't wake me. Left me a note to relax and have lunch on him $20 bill. He was so cool from WwII to 32 coupe to just the greatest dad ever.
half the members didn't die Just 3. Ronnie VanZant and Steve and Cassie Gaines. the other 3 were 2 pilots and a merchandiser.
@@kielwhite "just 3" lol
@@kielwhiteI’m considering Ronnie alone as half the band… when you lose your frontman, you lose a lot
This is one of the best reactions ya'll have done. Lex is in her element rocking out and feeling it, and Brad, that song REACHED you brother, in a way it's touched us all. As the mother of a son myself, I wish these things for him.
I’ve heard this song hundreds of times, and it still touches me EVERY time
They weren't at Woodstock, they came later in the 70's. Such a great song. Check out "Sweet home Alabama" thx.
They formed in 1964
@@patrickperry8951 They released their first album in 1973. They were a Jacksonville, FL bar band who underwent 3 name changes between 1964 and 1970 when they finally made the name change to Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were nowhere even NEAR Woodstock, I assure you. Lol
Sweet home Alabama is a banger. Listen to it drunk though it’s over played lol
@@patrickperry8951 when they were in middle school. Most of the band was 17 in 1969. Ronnie was 19. And it’s pretty easy to google all the acts at Woodstock.
I think they were at the later woodstock, in the 90s
This song is in my personal top 3. Reminds of my mother who has passed. She always kept me on the right path throughout my life.
Sorry to hear that!! ☹️ My Heart Still Aches from the loss of my Father!! 😭 He was such a genuine Soul
It's ironic that this reaction dropped today. Today is the 25th death anniversary of my first husband, and this was one of the songs I played at his funeral. It's hard sometimes for me to listen to it, but I'm taking it as a sign today. ❤R.I.P. Michael❤ Thanks Brad & Lex I needed this today🤟
My condolences. I'm sure he was jamming along to it as well. RIP
@@amysmithakabipolar.teddybe6047 Thank you he passed in 96' but sometimes feels like yesterday. I know he was smiling to this song and Mama Said by Metallica 🤟

"I like listening to vibes. I don't like playlists; I like albums."
My man, I am with you. Understanding an album is understanding the humanity that created it.
I used to know a girl who reacting to music like you do Lex back in the 70s. Everybody loved her and I'm sure everybody loves you.
I love it! Lex is jamming to the tunes, and Brad is taking notes for life... lol
This!
Brad is so into the lyrics having flashbacks, thats what this song does man its just there for all too learn from
Exactly!!
I had the same thought lol
I feel like he must work in engineering!! lol
"I don't really like playlists I like albums." I do know what you mean, and I couldn't agree more. Some of the greatest songs I know just aren't the same when you hear only that song. It was all about the build up and context of the music as a whole. That's part of what made it great.
Not to mention, when you listen to an album you hear music you never would've heard otherwise, and it often turns out to be the best they have, but just not radio friendly.

Skynard is what we called Southern Rock when I was younger. So glad to see a new generation enjoying this classic music!
S K Y N Y R D is just ROCK
There's more of listening to this kind of music than you may think (:
SOUTHERN ROCK ....end of debate !
You guys are so great... Brad all stoic and and cerebral when listening, not revealing whether he likes it or not and Lex just letting the music infiltrate her soul. After you stop the music, Brad becomes Lex with enthusiastic insights and appreciation of everything that was absorbed. And Lex then adding how much she actually took in while seemingly lost in the groove. You guys work great together, and clearly respect each other so much! Great stuff! I wish you great success! God Bless!
You guys do the best job lex rocks out and seems genuine and brad lets you know if he likes it or not. Most people act like they love everything and I find that disingenuous
I've thought that also, but consider that most reactions are to really exceptional music that is hard to not like/love, IF you love music in general and keep an open mind about new sounds.
I agree. They are the only ones that I have seen that actually seem genuine.
My mom and my song before she passed away she asked me to have a tender heart and let go of the past I listened to her and now I live a peaceful life R.I.P Miracle 🙏❤️
Thanks for sharing that, my man. Great message.

“Tuesday’s Gone”, “The Ballad of Curtis Loew” and “That Smell” is a song after a car accident and they were starting families, they were getting sick of the drinking and the drugs. They were going to straighten up and then the plane crash. I had just seen them in concert August 27 1977, I was 19. Two months later it’s over. Yes they reformed and started to Tour again I did see them in concert with my son in 2007, but it wasn’t the same for me.
Was it Johnny or Donny that started singing for L.S.? I know one of them was a guitarist for 38 special, It's hard to tell them apart, they all look identical! lol He even sounds like Ronnie
2nd 3rd and 4th "The Ballad of Curtis Loew". My favorite Skynyrd song.
Pretty sure that smell is about heroin. And how it was effecting neighborhoods where they lived around them.
Edit- see what you mean... I think. You just kinda put it in weird way. Like listing three songs then listing the thing songs are about after. Very confusing. Seems like you're saying all those songs are about the same thing.
@@mojorisin069 “whiskey bottle brand new car Oaktree you’re in my way”

God those guitars give me chills. Forgot how great this song is.
This is one one of the defining elements of Southern Rock @ one accomplished lead guitarist and a rhythm guitarist that can switch hit and play simultaneous lead - the you had bands like the Outlaws FLORIDA GUITAR ARMY three guitarists who were all switch hitters rhythm/lead and true masters of the Fret board !

Shinedown's cover is amazing! And the guitarist is married to one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's members daughter.
I didn't even know it was a cover until just now, I was so confused when I saw the title of this video. Lmao
As sacrilegious as I know this sounds, the best version of this song is the acoustic one by Shinedown.
@@robertpfeiff definitely not, it’s good but the original will always be king.
@@robertpfeiff I don't care what anybody else says, I full heartedly agree.

My dad’s best friend helped my brother’s & I with my dad’s funeral and requested this song be played. I had never heard it before (was 19 at the time & this wasn’t my type of music) but it’s now one of my favorites. I think of my dad every time.
If you are a Southern Boy and ever had your Mother set you down and have that talk with you this song will always hit the tuning fork in your heart.
I love Lex and her reactions always, but Brad was the star of this show!! His reaction to the perfect lyrics was priceless, and he is spot on with not needing a cover!! Perfection needs no validation, representation, or imitation!! :)
I love how into this Lex was. I totally agree about this being simple, yet powerful music. Love your reactions!
I found a new sport to watch . Lex gets all excited about the music , and Brad laughs at her excitement , lol ! Keep on doing what you are doing folks , it is really great !
Lex you have so much energy, it’s so beautiful to watch, it’s fun to watch young people like yourselves enjoying music I grew up with.
Yes, real music. Great lyrics, great passion. No gimmicks. It stands on its own. So much of music was like that.
I love that the younger generation is able to get that feeling that older music gave me. Im 45 an i miss the 80s the most. 70s as well but It wasnt just music back then an still isnt. it was the best era of music in history an ever will be in my opinion in all types of music. I just love to see younger people get a little bit of that feeling. Theres really nothing like it. There are literally no words. Thats how great it was. And Your reaction made me so happy an gave me hope for the new generation. Ty
This is the same way that I feel. The greatest music ever late sixties though the middle eighties.
I tell my kids this all the time, born in 72, first concert, AC/DC, & the runaways at 11 with older brother & cousins… that was our recreation. Metallica, the who, southern rock bands, Pink Floyd, Santana, Grateful Dead, just so many… the Live music & concerts were great. So much raw talent & fun. I don’t know what happened to music & live shows but our kids missed out.
" you got that right , T for Texas, that Smell "
Amazing songs Lynyrd skynyrd.
That’s my Florida home boys. Still remember hearing that their plane went down. Pulled off the road and listened to radio play their songs. Never forget!😪
Had to add: They were not at Woodstock in August 69. Their first album didn’t come out until late summer of 73.
Lexi gets it. Clean music, good lyrics with a good story delivered with exceptional talent
Ronnie’s voice is so soulful in this song, so good!!
It brings a tear to my eye to see you two experience this song together. Keep it up
Lynyrd Skynrd was the name of their Gym teacher, they started the band in high school and their Gym teacher hated long hair and rock and roll so they used his name Leonard Skinner (spelled differently) to piss him off. He died at 77.
to his credit and theirs they did eventually become friends...
Lynyrd Skynyrd sounds like the cool, laid back version of Leonard Skinner lol
A simple kind of man is exactly who Ronnie Van Zandt wrote for, to great effect. Skynard tapped into exactly what the masses could relate to and it was musical genius.
I love the 2 different experiences here. Brad goes introspective on the personal hook in the lyrics while Lex takes it like a gospel song at church. Both are leveraging the allegory in the songs story with totally different energy.
I am not a “reaction video” person but I love watching you two listen to and being introduced to all this good music. Good job guys
Shinedown has a fantastic cover of this song! This song in general just hits deep as a man. It's the truth in the lyrics.
And the " in my house" version is crazy!
Definitely Shinedown’s version is the best!!
Right up there with the original!!
downgrade from Skynyrd though
@@billcephus Musically yes, vocally no. Not saying Ronnie couldn't sing it like Brent Smith, but he didn't.
Shinedowns version is not good too me, he trys too hard singing it making it loose its calmness and the story all together with him trying too drag out the notes.
Lex, you are amazing! "The great thing about art is that there's always something in the nothingness." I think that's one of the most profound things anyone has ever said and you just pulled it out of your hat. Bravo!
Just have to say that you two remind me so much of me and my wife. When we listen to music I hook into the bass groove and lyrics and she's always bouncing around to the guitars and dancing. We've been married for a lot of decades so I'm sure you two have a lot of fun in store as well. Love your reactions to the music that we lived our lives to

Love Lex getting into it to such a tremendous degree, rocking out and going, "Woo!" again and again.
I just love the way this lady loves her some guitar! Dang, she looks like such a blast to hang out with. I hope you two and everyone here knows our Lord Jesus, we all need Him to get out alive!!
If you want to hear a cover of this check out the version by Shinedown. The cover is a superb tribute to Skynyrd, and done with love and respect. Also I believe the singer or guitarist of Shinedown (I can't remember which) is married to the daughter of the original singer from Skynyrd who died in the plane cradh, so there is a family connection there too.
Nope, this is 1977, not 1970. Incredibly good lyrics 😊
You two make my day better. I had such a crappy day at work...one of my coworkers walked out it was such a turd of a day. Now I'm home...watching both of you...and it makes my day just a bit brighter. Thanks you two.

Hey guys try a Lynyrd Skynyrd song THAT SMELL.
They never played at woodstock, and as simple as the music sounds they were a full band, three guitarists, bass, drums, piano and three backup singers. The music is of what southerners call a "down home" blend. Van Zant, the lead singer and the leader of the band, never wrote down a lyric. He remembered each song in his head. He also very seldom wore shoes or boots on stage.he said he liked it barefooted. His stage presence is extraodinary, he just mostly stood in one place, never danced all around like a lot of idiots do, he was who he was, he put on no airs, no fake stage presentation, and was a very gifted singer and songwriter. Skynyrd was top notch 1970s honkytonk music. They could hold their own with the best of the rockers of the era, but really could have been in lead of todays country as well. Van Zant was a rare breed, we lost a lot when we lost him.....
yup that plane crash took so much away from music, who knows how many more great songs would have been made over the years
If you want to hear a cover, Shinedown did an amazing one. Stayed true to the song, and it’s great. This song is a masterpiece, and the message is perfect. Love you guys and the way you do your thing. Keep it up.

They named their band after a school teacher they didn't like to piss him off . Skynyrd was a vary talented band , irreplaceable , gone way too soon. Many great messages in their music , written from the heart . Check out the live show at the Oakland coliseum in 1977 , about 3 months before the plane crash , sounded just as good live . 3 guitar players , and they weren't known till a while after Woodstock ,
