Totally feel you about accidentally reading a book at the wrong time, but the best feeling is when you realize you are reading a book right at the right time, too!! Also, yes!! I am so upset about the Goodreads update, like out of everything they could have updated, they do that??? lmao
The Measure was one of my top reads last year, but I finished it in about 2 days so I could maybe see how if you took longer, it would be hard to keep everyone straight. I found it so though-provoking and the ending brought me to tears!
