Something really interesting I just found while playing Dead Air in the saferoom in chapter 5 is that on the Pre-Board Checklist poster, it says to "notify security immediately if you have kept or handled livestock in the last 48 hours", which points to the rumor that the Green Flu spread through livestock being widespread enough to be a security concern for big airports like Metro International. It's really cool that small little details like this are EVERYWHERE in this game, and it's why I love the lore aspect of l4d so much :P

Honestly the plane getting shot down do make the most sense, I headcanon the pilot as probably a deserter from the airforce (its a literally military plane he is flying) that felt he couldn’t let people to die and took one off the plane during the chaos occurring after the second week of infection, where the military was under full retreat from the big cities as the number of infected started overwhelming them, but unfortunately they still had enough assets to enforce something of a no flight zone over the country to prevent the infection from spreading even further, so that’s why he was flying so low. Maybe what happened was that shortly after the take off, the plane was noticed by a military radar before it could descend to a lower altitude and the order was given to shot it down, either when the plane was hit or in the subsequent crashing the pilot died. It’s possible the pilot might also be a carrier and aware of it, would giving him good motivation to desert and also explain why the doors in the plane are sealed shut and why he doesn’t come out, he needs to prevent himself from accidentally infecting healthy survivors.
I appreciate the support :) Also regarding your comment on the death toll video, I plan on doing a video on the virus itself because a few comments pointed that out along with the zombie in the sacrifice comic that also turns unrealistically fast. There's only 2 Instances where a bitten survivor turns into a special infected unpresidentadely fast. It's the boomer In the sacrifice comic, and the church guy. And I cannot wait for that video because there's so much to talk about.
I remember the first time I played Dead Air in Left 4 Dead 2. Boy was I upset in Chapter 4 when I realised they'd changed the map to make it impossible to go around that metal detector. I do find it noteworthy this is the only campaign in which the GMC Van is used by the survivors in either L4D game, (used to break down the barrier). I can imagine the survivors just releasing the brakes on a bunch of vehicles and sending them driving away to cause a distraction.

I've been replaying all of left 4 dead campaigns because of your videos. I'm surprised you didn't mention the photo memorial wall in the kitchen safe room or in the plane ramp safe room the posters saying wear a mask on the plane meaning air travel was going on for awhile atleast while the infection was going on
One thing I haven't seen brought up or it was i missed it In several "city" levels. Dead air, no mercy You can hear gunfire in the distance implying your team aren't alone and others are around
Hell yes Dead Air! I remember playing a game with friends before going on a vaction! ..then playing some more in said vacation! But the story thou... Good stuff! Wish they added more with the offices and airport offices for maximum effect!
Loving the series man keep up the good work! Also to add there is a playable version of the Dam It campaign that someone ported into the game on the steam workshop, so you could give that a go and make the missing link video if you wanted
The original left 4 dead 1 dead air campaign chapter 4 does not force you into metal detector. So survivor can avoid it entirely although special infected like smoker in versus mode especially can drag survivor into the metal detector
He was added there during a later update as a reference, since his model was changed in the L4D2 version of the campaign. (Originally he used the green t-shirt model inside the plane)
Man, I’ve been waiting for this to come out for such a long time. I love your leftover dead videos, fun little fact of the original four campaigns. This is the only one where Bill does not have a cigarette in his mouth. The poster this is my second favorite next to no mercy And then after this, it would be death toll and blood harvest at last all great campaigns, though for the longest time, I played left 4 dead at one more than at two, but now I played Left 4 dead two more and I like this better
Until these videos I've never noticed those clues at the beginning of each campaign that bridge the escape from the last one. I always wondered how they got from the boat to the greenhouse here and never saw that dock.
Damn. I loved the lore on this one. Also never appreciated the plane flying very low till now. Pretty nice observations from you and the people who helped
I already gave him a shoutout, but the plane flying low to the ground was another point made by JaiZ in an email he sent to me. So full credit to him for pointing that out.
To be honest I actually am happy somebody is going through the lore of both games but questions for @Conz after left 4 dead 1 & 2. What's next my friend? Because I wouldn't mind some gameplay footage or something cause people still love it and I have to thank you truly for getting a fellow survivor get back into the fight. Cause I will be getting my copy again

It's ok Had a few ideas, including more in depth lore breakdowns as well as custom campaign breakdowns. Excited for what's to come and hoping you guys enjoy whatever I do come up with.
I'd love to see a video dedicated to the scrapped campaigns that didn't make it to the final product and theorize about the storyline, characters involved and planned events. The Dam It campaign, and another supposedly to bridge the events between the events of Death Toll and Dead Air (The River is the name I think). There was another joint work with MGM to produce a campaign based on the movie Cabin in the Woods, but the film company filled for bankruptcy and the idea was shelved too. Also, I hope you also give some love to Cold Stream and The Last Stand. Not the best campaigns but I think they deserve some recognition too, maybe fused on a single video.
10:40 I feel like its a conflict if the plane really was shot down by the military, if it really was shot down they wouldn't trust the military with their lives then and there, and the events in blood harvest and the sacrifice wouldn't come to pass
They could simply not have been aware that they were shot down. They might've been resting when it happened - not seeing the impact - and weren't able to ask the pilot what was going on cause they were in a seperate compartment. The plane wreckage would not leave any clear indication of being shot down either.
I've noticed a common theme through your videos is a key point of you liking or disliking a map, not make or break, but high on the checklist, is being able to instakill with specials, particularly chargers. I'm curious, cause that's not something I have ever really thought of for the positive vs negatives of a campaign. I don't really play Versus, most of my L4D play time has always been single player or just regular multiplayer campaign. Is the death charger thing just a you thing or is that a common criteria L4D players judge maps by?
Me thing. I do primarily play versus and there is a reason why you see chapter 1 of dead center played so often. Players (like me) just love death charges. Most of the time, it's a game-changing play and always satisfying to pull off. It's definitely a personal preference, though. Insta killing survivors will always be fun and there are some maps and chapters where that isn't possible, doesn't make them bad, it just makes the maps where you can DC that much better.
Hey con, can you compile the deaths of the people killed by the carriours? Like the pilot and what not, i tried looking for there mentions after watching your swamp people video lmao
To my knowledge The pilot at the end of no mercy The pilot at the end of dead air? (Maybe, the plane could have been shot down, it's not made clear) The pilot at the end of Dark Carnival. We can assume the pilot at the end of the Parish had a mask on, so he doesn't get infected.
Adding onto the cut voice lines indicating the pilots multiple evacuation runs, the safe house linking the third and fourth chapters (the one with We are the real monsters graffiti) is fairly unique. Unlike most safe rooms the place was entirely built by survivors instead of converting an already established room-building. The hastily built wooden wall and metal bars give away it had to be built after the airport was overun, probably by survivors trying their luck with a plane or attracted by the pilots low runs over the city.
Isn't Dead Center's last saferoom also a makeshift one like that? Other than the side of the exit door, the rest of it is made entirely out of plywood.
10:58 No wonder the pilot died. You let the damn tank in!
Nah it looks like he fell off, maybe afraid of high altitudes
We just may never know how the pilot was torn in half and crashed
lol

6:56 The plane cockpit tail, and detached wing are reused assets in swamp fever, but the center part, is a few new models made to fit with the other parts. as well as some brushwork for the floor.
Every time I watch this series I just think about how many details go over people’s heads
1:05 at least there’s no tornadoes carrying cars
I've been replaying all of left 4 dead campaigns because of your videos.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the photo memorial wall in the kitchen safe room or in the plane ramp safe room the posters saying wear a mask on the plane meaning air travel was going on for awhile atleast while the infection was going on
WAKE UP, CONZ JUST UPLOADED 🗣
One thing I haven't seen brought up or it was i missed it
In several "city" levels. Dead air, no mercy
You can hear gunfire in the distance implying your team aren't alone and others are around
Dam It [Remastered] might be the best one imo for a video as it ends exactly where you start at the beginning of Blood Harvest.
I love the way the sky looks in dead air. Its one of the reasons why its my favorite map
I do hope we get a video on the non-canon/cut campaigns! Dam it, Cold Stream, Last Stand would all be cool to see covered!
One voice line i like is when Francis complains that the barricade is the only thing not on fire and that they have to burn it down
9:21 - Does the Tank count as an NPC voiced by a TF2 character because all of its roars are modified Heavy clips.
The original left 4 dead 1 dead air campaign chapter 4 does not force you into metal detector. So survivor can avoid it entirely although special infected like smoker in versus mode especially can drag survivor into the metal detector
Terry might be the dead guy up against the cockpits door in the plane, at 9:37 you can see him a good bit
He was added there during a later update as a reference, since his model was changed in the L4D2 version of the campaign. (Originally he used the green t-shirt model inside the plane)
Is the campaign "Dam it" would be included in this series, since it's not included in the official campaign?
love all the environmental observations you point out in these vids, i usually miss them cuz im too busy getting my ass kicked by zombies LOL
There's also a theory that the plane crashed it's because of technical error(mostly the pilot panicked or 1 of the plane's engines exploded)
I love the roll credits refference to Cinema Cins haha
2:12 What Zoey said is the funniest quote in any zombie related media. XD
Until these videos I've never noticed those clues at the beginning of each campaign that bridge the escape from the last one. I always wondered how they got from the boat to the greenhouse here and never saw that dock.
I'd really enjoy it if you cover the "Damn It" campaign
5:50 I never knew the tank could do that and I’ve been playing Left 4 Dead for over a decade!
Haha, nice cinema sins reference, and thank you for the wonderful video as always!
The finale always felt eerily quiet to me and it makes sense now with the voice lines being flat cut out
And no im not trying to be disrespectful or rude im sorry if my comment comes out wrong cause I'm sure some of us are curious what is next for you that's all cause I just found your channel and been listening and I truly like it. Please keep it going is all I ask.
It's ok
Had a few ideas, including more in depth lore breakdowns as well as custom campaign breakdowns. Excited for what's to come and hoping you guys enjoy whatever I do come up with.
@conz2769 Yes, that sounds awesome
I was able to solo veteran all the og l4d campaigns before. Try rushing ahead. Also favorite campaign.
It’s likely he was not because there is a dead infected in the cargo hold. He must have bit him before being killed
Francis is implied to have read rand lol I love it
air circulation could mean the virus spread into the cot pit.
Really enjoy you're videos man, Keep up the work 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'd love to see a video dedicated to the scrapped campaigns that didn't make it to the final product and theorize about the storyline, characters involved and planned events.
Good video. as always
No one gonna talk about, why bill in this gameplay is named Big D bill. 💀
I like your video and i like this game. 😅 Your video is good.
The plane wreckage would not leave any clear indication of being shot down either.
i really really like these videos, keep em coming
Just woke up from this. Awesome.
Great vid, your crash course vid made me see the campaign with another perspective, pls do DAM IT
Grew up playing this level 7-now still going I ADORE this level
I didn’t find out until recently that Damn It was cut campaign after years of playing, so a video about what could’ve been sounds super interesting
The C130 crashed cuz Zoey shot the piolet again.
Ay nice video man! :D👍
Finally a video that can keep me entertained
aint no way the no sacrifice chapter was uploaded 3 months ago 😳🤯🤯
Dead air.... I... remember... it...all.
My fave campaing to play in Expert, versus or the easy to check the city. The plane crash at the end still gets me surprised.
I remember a mod that changed the poster in the loading screens from dead air to dead ass
Our lord has came back
Hey man these are Great! Keep it up
I've noticed a common theme through your videos is a key point of you liking or disliking a map, not make or break, but high on the checklist, is being able to instakill with specials, particularly chargers. I'm curious, cause that's
not something I have ever really thought of for the positive vs negatives of a campaign.
LETS GOOOOOO!
Favorite campaign
Babe wake Up we got new L4D Lore
Hey con, can you compile the deaths of the people killed by the carriours? Like the pilot and what not, i tried looking for there mentions after watching your swamp people video lmao
To my knowledge
The pilot at the end of no mercy
The pilot at the end of dead air? (Maybe, the plane could have been shot down, it's not made clear)
The pilot at the end of Dark Carnival.
