Quite right, they do not understand the concept of maintenance. I was maintenance manager of a major international company, and one of my staff said to me " why do you white people want to fix things that are not broken?" when I was designing and putting into practice of planned maintenance and explaining to the staff how it all will works.
Try think of a concept for which there is no word in your language. It is bloody hard. Words are the symbols we use for thinking and communicating. There is no Zulu word for maintenance.
The boilers at Eskom are vrot due to thermal fatigue. To fix it, one has to replace all the tubes in the boiler. The problem with fixing it, you need 200 to 300 days, and the labour laws changed so crews cannot work around the clock. The operators of the boilers run these boilers like taxi drivers. Full tilt, the step on the breaks, the full tilt again, and that goes on the whole time. I could have written this report 10 years ago and it would have costed less than R500k.
If I could ... I would go back to 1992 and change my vote to "NO" . Biggest regret in my life . 😖. Our Apartheid was better than their Apartheid ..because ours had electricity . 😒
What needs to be pointed out is that the NHI is premised on central control, exactly what the Eskom report states is the reason we have no electricity. I would love you to talk about that
Is Satan's spawn behind us having load 💩ting? Wouldn't surprise me - they're on about this climate 💩 yet they can galavant the globe and cause more damage than we do! They love pointing fingers, but seem to forget that when you do, you've got three pointing back at you
Well.....the current public heatlhcare system is centrally controlled by government and look at the state that is in.....nothing left to loot anymore and millions of innocent patients suffering for it
During 1994 they told us that everyone will have electricity. We saw power lines going up in many places. The lights started going on for many more people than ever before. The lights started going off shortly after that. For everybody.
I remember in 1992 when i said, the biggest fear I have of the ANC is that they wont maintain everything. I was 12 and read what happened in other african countries. Why cant they maintain?
Since 1994,everything in sa turn to loadshedding in some form or the other...these people, are the greatest disaster to have ever happened to south africa!!!😢
Hi guys, what I can't understand is that we have to save on electricity, but come to Vereeniging, you will see all over the street lights are on the whole day and at night when we need them, they are off!! 🤔🙄
Its an issue all over, however in my neighborhood, street lights havent worked in 2 years. Its pitch black all the time, but when it rains sparks fly so they are live it seems.
There are times when the lights are turned on to improve power factor. It is often an indication if the generators veing overworked and the network being on the edge of instability.
Imagine if this country had a police force and military to protect vital infrastructure instead of sitting in their GTI's with the aircon on. They can also use ESP.
Here is some perspective regarding load-shedding... People who were born in 2007 are turning 18 this year. When I was born, my first words were "mommy / daddy" but for those born in 2007, their first words were *in this order "load-shedding / mommy / daddy"
I think you also need to draw pictures and diagrams for old Cyril and the anc lunatics to explain the workings of maintenance and repair procedures for Eskom, I still don’t think they understand it yet !!
at stage 6 loadshedding they said our water would struggle to fill reservoirs, knysna has a huge water problem. yesterday parts of our town flooded and it seems ironic that our taps were dry and the town flooded?
The only reason load shedding is so low is because industry has shut down and the electricity usage has reduced. This is effectively another 10 stages if hidden load shedding. To get a real feel for how much load shedding there is, add 10 to the official number and you are in the ballpark.
Cant watch it with no power, stadium coudnt fit enough people either, and with no power and no economy our Rugby guys would flee to where they can get paid in anything but monopoly money.
I had my cables stolen. All 1 metre of them. Report to police, get case number, drive to depot, get cables replaced, then drill a bolt into the wall and use two padlocks and chain.
Eskom should stop employing subcontractors who keep f-ing stuff up so they can be employed to fix it again. Employ people on a permanent basis the way it was before. They don't break stuff so they can fix it again.
Load shedding wasn’t better with Zuma it started with Zuma. Before Zuma there was zero load shedding world class Electricity supply cheapest in the world It just took a few more years for things that were built to last to be destroyed. In 2003 there was a tax surplus which was given to Eskom which ministers gorged themselves and have been indulging ever since
... OR, while the power station is running build the redundancy. In this case, another water treatment plant that can be brought into service when maintenance is needed on the primary or when decommissioning of one or the other unit is necessary.
Strange that power stations all over the world; much older than eskom that was the best in the world; are all operational; syndicates and cartels runs eskom and when thieves are involved; eskom can never operate properly 😢
And Zuma said - we will use african laws (and logic too I guess). But wait! accotding to mr fix 4call, De Ruiter CAUSED loadshedding, I saw the clip (360)

I bought a generator, cant afford the petrol, but anyhow i will plant more trees, stop eating small white beans and stop drinking beer to lower my environmentally unsound practices!😂
"If" is an illusion...if they only do this, if they only did that, if if if...the ANC can only do wrong things, never what they are suppose to do, they cannot stop themselves or repent...its too late now. Accept it. Theres no point in highlighting what they should have done...they didnt😢
The problem is that the uneducated population that gets welfare checks from the ANC will keep voting ANC to keep getting welfare checks. Let the money dry up and the social grants stop being paid out, and you'll see how quick they'll turn on the ANC.
I predict that the word BASED is going to eventually go the direction that the word WOKE went but to the right. People will be saying “Here goes the based gang again dragging black, Muslim and gay people”
The de-colonisation process of Mzansi is nearly complete. It took Homo Sapiens Africanus Parasiticus & ANC exactly 30years 2 dismantle a working state. It is must be a new record for this group of under achievers.
The skills are not up to standard. I used to work in a dept at a company that was made up of blacks and I had to go and solve the problems they were unable to fix for 13 years. Run after them and if they do not want to do something they take sick leave and my manager was too scared to take action and these people know they are untouchable because if you take action you are a racist
Low bar if you ask me, we had better people even before the ANC, why cant we get them back, or at least the equivalent of them, of which there are many, and gradually leaving SA because idiocy and low to no standards seems to be the norm. It was Zuma that created cadre deployment, it was under his rule since 2008 that loadshedding started, he created the stage upon which collapse is performed and any further ANC shmuck is merely standing in line to hammer in the next nail of SA's coffin.
They can't fix nothing. Very good in destroying, hope, dreams and our future.
Surely the equipment is 5 years older since Zuma and as it wasn't maintained then either, the chickens have come home to roost.

There is no Zulu word for maintenance.
Theres also no concept of love.
