My biggest deterrent is the increase CPU Usage / GPU usage compared to OBS. If they can bring that down a notch, I could consider using it. Seems like it has a solid set of features however. I literally was thinking about how to multi-stream, make a clock and fix my green screen but you solved all my problems with just this one video, never heard about prism before, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
All the things that you’ve outlined that Prism does, OBS 28 can do with well established plugins from the resources section on their site with the exception of built in animated text etc. but as a live production manager and streamer myself, you want those baked in and not chugging cpu/gpu while trying to render them in real time against all of your background. It’s a lot of shiny for much less overall functionality than I have within OBS as I’ve built mine out.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr Ig the counter to that would be that a "new streamer" probably has even less invested into their setup so having a tick off of their performance could create issues. Plus putting out a software that has abilities that online tutorials such as the one on your channel utilize seems counterintuitive on your part. You can teach someone how to edit animated and 3d text in davinci/fusion, and get clicks and help creators actually create, and not just have a bunch of buttons to press to add noise to their stream.
It always looks trivial to do things in OBS when you've been working with it for a while. But for a new streamer, the learning curve can actually be discouraging. Prism could be better than the best, if the company can add alert from super chat, donation and Membership , this will more strong than anyother streaming application on gaming . thank for the video and hope to listen from you
I'd like to see them make the clock autostart when you open the scene. It's counterintuitive to have to right click the clock and go into the settings while the countdown just sits there on your screen.
Thanks! grab a coffee on me! I stream a lot just not in typical fashion I do photo/lighting demos on my channel and its never cookie cutter so Ive found some tricks that help thanks to your channel
1st, I would like to thank you for putting me onto Prism Live Studio. I love it!! Love it! The write on screen thing is HUGE!! Prism does use resources, so I am using it on a separate computer. ONE problem -- NDI. OBS accepts NDI sources AND outputs NDI. Prism accepts NDI... but unless I am overlooking it... it does not OUTPUT NDI. And THAT is a major MAJOR disappointment. So, can it do it? If so, it would be PERFECT!!! Thanks for all you do, man.
I really really wanna try this. I am just nervous to try it and find that my streams might become laggy or gameplay laggy while streaming. no harm in trying it tho, right? I only have medium tier pc. gtx1080, ryzen 7 1700, 16g ddr4 ram, and ab350m gaming motherboard. i hope it does not make too much difference in stream or game cause the games i usually play are a lil demanding on my gpu.
I have Prism Live Studio for my android mobile. I stream my game in either recorded video or live stream, but when doing live stream, i have difficulties getting the intro and start screen to switch the camera to me on the screen recording option. Could you showcase this and how to make it work. Cheers
ya, i think in its current state its sort of a gimmick with the lack of plugins and its cool to have things built in, the text is nice, but it uses more of your cpu/gpu, and is missing browser docks, so Its not anywhere near as capable as OBS, except in just a few areas mainly related to decorating with text and the green screen thing.
@@hangli-ky8jw thanks for that update friend. I stopped streaming due to some huge life changes(all positive), but I do really enjoy the process of running a show and having hotkey plug-ins, so I might check prism back out in the future
Great Video and I recently switched to Prism because of one of your videos. I love the multistream and chat features. I do miss move transitions and more complex color correction features. As well is blur effects but I've made do without them.
Was great for a while until they took the camera USB feature from us. It took away my Big Camera. It's harder for me because most live Streamers on RUclips go live from there homes or a stationary area. I'm Mobile I Chase Police Scanner Calls so I'm all over town. So I need a large camera for far away scenes. They said sometime this yr they might add it back. Will see. 😔
I played around with it last night. The green screen/background remover is great. Not being able to snap click my chat, alerts, and things all together on one page was the deal breaker for me. I think they will fix this in the future though. I'm also curious if it works with with the elgato stream deck or not. That is another issue for those who have been streaming for awhile.
Thanks for the video, Michael! If PRISM LIVE STUDIO is reading this, then it should definitely take a look and FIX WEB sources for H2R graphics. H2R graphics is a tool for overlaying a whole package of text graphics and whatnot. A tool by John Barker from "Here to Record". This tool works in OBS (via Browser source), but doesn't want to work in PRISM LIVE STUDIO (via WEB source).
I discovered that Prism is a fork of OBS. I was able to copy the profile and scene config files from OBS to Prism so one doesn't have to completely start from scratch. Backup up the settings so for peace of mind before starting.
Currently going back and forth between OBS and SLOBS, both of which have been freezing mid stream lately. It's so frustrating. I'll be Live Streaming tonight and I hope to be able to try out Prism. I hope it works for me.
Prism Live is great but it does lack an "Audio Input Capture" feature that OBS currently has. They need to add this and then it'll be perfect. Unless there is a way to have this feature, can you please make a video on this? Thanks and love your channel. It has helped me with so many obs features that I never thought possible. And I definitely wouldn't have known about Prism Live studio if it wasn't for you.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I'm not talking about an "Application Audio Capture". That I do have activated already. But I was wondering if there was a way to capture audio from a source like a capture card?
as always, great video Mike! Would love for them to add comments as overlay in the game like Twitch Studio has, I find that super useful especially when streaming games that require me to keep my eyes on the game. And another great thing Twitch Studio has is separating the audio sources per app, so if I want users to not hear the youtube video I'm running in Chrome, I could do that by not adding chrome sound to the stream...
I like your vids. I'm fairly new to creating content and the hardest part is really getting the hang of all of this software. I watched your video on how to use my GoPro as a webcam for obs and the difference in quality is outstanding. Keep up the good work and thanks for educating us. I dropped a like, a comment and I subscribed homie 💪🏼💯
I have been tinkering with prism, but using the prism cam I notice a little lag with the video. For this I’ll just use it when i feel like being goofy, I enjoy being able to draw on the screen, but for good smooth video I can’t bring myself to use the prism cam for effects. Using just the camera input is fine but then you can’t do some of the effects. 🤷🏼♂️
I stream and make content for mobile games like call of duty, mobile and Apex mobile. So having an app that lets me add my external Logitech webcam to my Mobile device and have it Overlayed over my Gameplay while I Stream and Play is Huge. The Option to Add An intro right as my stream starts is big too. Also music playlists for back ground music. Also you can add an external Microphone which is amazing. Being able to Hook up my Logitech c920 cam and Blue Snowball Microphone to my Google pixel 6A while I Stream may be the win here.
Great video! Looks like an excellent streaming platform. I wish you had mentioned that it was windows only though. I’ll look forward to a Mac version, if they ever create one.
@@rostad89 Cant use OBS Plugins some people like myself rely on. A lot of those features will be integrated eventually but as of rght now they arent. The small increase in CPU usage can be a strem breaker for people pushing the limits.
I run a very simple stream wiht not a lot of elements because I stream from a single mid-tier PC. So the CPU/GPU usage is going to be an issue for me. And I hate adding plugins to OBS because they can break with OBS updates (OBS 28 anyone?). So if the CPU/GPU usage could become more efficient with Prism I would seriously consider changing. Great work by the way and keep up the content!!

We believe that making lightweight apps is our mission. There are many difficulties, but it is a path we must keep steadily. Sorry for not giving you the perfect app.
Thank you for this video, but I have two questions that I can't seem to find through Google. Can you Multistream with Prism? and can I take a home video dvd and play it through Prism and get sound without having to do weird sound adjustments through Windows? (My group had a potluck and we want to share the video of it through our stream and while people can see, they cannot hear through OBS and I'm having trouble even with the workarounds that I've found.)
I am loving your tutorials on Live Streaming. I just got Prism Studio for Mac. The one thing I can't find is how to hid the broadcast window from the stream. Do you know how to do that?
I would really like an option for a bot name change without having to run another piece of software. Currently I can use streamelements plugin to obs and I can control the bot name and everything. So even if I had to run another piece of software, integration is better than nothing
Thank you for your advice. We'll take a look at what you said. And we'll be launching a login-based Twitter streaming feature soon. It will probably be released in November.

Nice to see an alternative out there. Hoping Prism will make audio abilities easier than OBS in the future. Having to use something like Voicemeter seems really cumbersome.
Yes! you said it! I don't want to run 4-5 different apps and force them to play nice. I have voicemeeter, voice mod, voice attack and I end up going back to doing those functions more simply. Honestly, the harder it is to setup, the harder it is to fix or redo if there's a problem.
That was awesome, ah I'm sold even when it's free. Question 1 let's say I want to have a screen showing a content in the background not a full background but a tv screen will it work question 2 What if I want to get everyone on one platform especially I'm trying to grow my RUclips channel it stream to one or does it have to be all platforms at once? That's all for now Michael you did it again.
What about the audio problems? Some people can only hear themselves, but sound doesn't come through to viewers no matter (apparently) what. And when people do get their audio through, it comes with a delay in some cases.
Is there a way to have the Prism audio output to a source that microsoft teams or zoom could see\use? I kinda see it like when you have the prism virtual camera going there is also a virtual camera mic. So you can use all the audio tools inside of prism.
What do you need done? Also if a video is too fast you can click on the gear or ⚙️ cog button and set the video to 75% speed. Unfortunately creators are rewarded for faster, quick paced content. Otherwise they can run the risk of the algorithm punishing them. Remember he does live streams too where you can ask questions.

Prism could be better than the best, if the company can add alert from super chat, donation and Membership , this will more strong than anyother streaming application on gaming . thank for the video and hope to listen from you
You can use the same browser based alert system you use in obs.
Thank You so much!
Will totally try it tomorrow ! Thanks a lot!
We can finally use obs plugins in prism, even move transition 🎉
Ok I'm a few days into using this and I'm liking it tons, thanks to your vids helping me learn how to use this program. ✌🏽✌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💖💖
Thanks for the review I am trying to decide on a solid platform to stream on my phone with. Cheers!
Cheers
Looks great, but i would love to see integrated with Touch Portal and the ability to use obs plugins.
ya, i think in its current state its sort of a gimmick with the lack of plugins and its cool to have things built in, the text is nice, but it uses more of your cpu/gpu, and is missing browser docks, so Its not anywhere near as capable as OBS, except in just a few areas mainly related to decorating with text and the green screen thing.
@@Lagger-HD According to my recent findings, starting from 4.0.0, PRISM supports all OBS plugins.

As well is blur effects but I've made do without them.
the Application audio capture is missing from new installs, its probably the main thing holding back from using this more.
It’s in there. You just have to activate it.
That's what I'm looking for. Stream deck integration.
It does have it. You just have to activate it.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I'm not talking about an "Application Audio Capture". That I do have activated already. But I was wondering if there was a way to capture audio from a source like a capture card?
@@SenseiFELIXYes it works exactly like OBS in that way.
Probably one of you all-time greatest videos!
Question - does this integrate with StreamDeck?
Great new product! Certainly aimed at the right segment...beginners (for now!!)..can it be controlled by Elgato Stream Deck?
There is a plug-in for prism in Streamdeck.
as always, great video Mike!
Yea, I'm about to give Prism a try for my next live stream
I have been tinkering with prism, but using the prism cam I notice a little lag with the video. For this I’ll just use it when i feel like being goofy, I enjoy being able to draw on the screen, but for good smooth video I can’t bring myself to use the prism cam for effects. Using just the camera input is fine but then you can’t do some of the effects. 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks! Michael - you've helped me a lot:)
Thank you!!!
I’ll look forward to a Mac version, if they ever create one.
my question is how is the support for plugins like firebot, stream elements, own3d (for overlays) and the biggest one... the Stream deck
You can use overlays. And Streamdeck works as well.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr So, if you look away from a small increase in CPU use, what are then the downside? 😅🤣
Great work by the way and keep up the content!!
i hope they can add close captions to it or have a plugin like obs does because that would be great then
We can finally use obs plugins in prism, even move transition
@@hangli-ky8jw really, good to know
Prism Live is still too heavy for novice streamers, especially old budget pc streamers like me, cpu and gpu demanding software Still OBS and streamlabs obs for me. thanks for the video and review btw
We believe that making lightweight apps is our mission. There are many difficulties, but it is a path we must keep steadily. Sorry for not giving you the perfect app.
@@prismlivestudio develop to be more hardware friendly, I'm sure it will be the number 1 streaming software, especially the features it provides.
Last time I used streamlabs it was pretty cpu heavy.
You can multi stream. I dont know the answer to your DVD question.
this is honestly awesome, if prism allows browser sources like obs i would be switching myself and importing all of my stuff from obs into prism
i really love this amazing channel! :) thank you Michael!
Drawing on-screen looks good. Will have to give it a go.
So even if I had to run another piece of software, integration is better than nothing
man I missed this kind of tutorials lol. Great work here, thanks!!!
Great! Thank you for the info about it. i will have a closer look 👍😁
I would love to see the Text feature under "Social" feature include the ability to put your Twitter handle on your stream/video.
Thank you for your advice. We'll take a look at what you said. And we'll be launching a login-based Twitter streaming feature soon. It will probably be released in November.
@@prismlivestudio Thanks, but I am referring to the feature discussed in this video where Michael shows how you can make a scrolling icon with your name appear on screen. Nothing to do with chat.
Thank you for this tutorial video it was great, I would like to know if you could do a tutorial on the multi-streaming built-in function and adding on extra people for Livestream on prime studio. Thank you again and keep up the good work,,💯👍
I always enjoy and learn from your vids!!!! Thanks kind Sir.
Glad to help.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I had an accident 12 years ago and thus have difficulty with hard tasks ( slight TBI ) It took hours to set up obs and then streamlabs. I got prism up and running in freaking 20 minutes and 15 of that was finding my twitch password, lol. I want to say thanks for all your vids because audio instruction I can understand but written are so diffucult now.
This video for Prism Live Studio was recorded using OBS! lol
im try this for my game streaming and test this .. As always thank you mike
Great video Mike. What about stream deck integration?
It’s available.
will you be doing a how to on prism like you did obs as i got confused setting up my stream so wanting to really get some tips and tricks
This programm is like Streamlabs just without the monetization.
Full with features only a few people really use, that making the programm run slower...
I pretty clearly state that prism is not for everyone.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr That sounded different in the video.
Hey Michael how can I stream with a dual pc setup? NDI or teleport style like on OBS? Amazing content, it helped me so much on my journey!
Nope it worked the same as obs for that. Just the camera no audio.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr Darn. was hoping there was a way to get this to work.
Man...
You almost convice me migrate...
I need quickly an hardware setup update uhauahuaha.
Thx for tips and sucess, Michael. Cheers from Brazil.
Couldn't you also setup your camera in prism and just run it through OBS 🤷🏼♂️
Getting the best of both ✌🏼
Yes
@@MichaelFeyrerJr When I installed it, I noticed it added a prism cam in my OBS options.👍🏼✌🏼
me 2 havnt did OBS yet, all looks too HARD to use to me, Michael u great but its moving to fast, might get someone to do it, Thanks,💯
@@mr.grotto im new , im try OBS first slow and see, All i want to use steaming when i do twitch etc, and use just camera and a few things, thats all nothing fancy, thanks MrGrotto can u use any laptop ?

There is a plug-in in Streamdeck for prism. :-)
Thank You sir for this because i needed all features like this app
but i have an question if you answer it,
what if i stream live in low pc would it be perfect or not ??
because i have an working pc
steam one pc having prism live studio NDA to another pc using prism live studio in a dual pc setup, and the application sound and is golden, I don't know why they haven't done it if you can already with a cell phone
I enjoy your videos. They are very well done and entertaining. I run Linux -only- though, and this gets filed in my "not useful" bucket. It would be appreciated if you would mention "Windows ONLY" at the beginning of your video as a matter of respect for my time. Or perhaps a simple word of warning in the description.
Only problems I have is that alerts don't come through. I also couldn't tag a game on facebook. I also heard that if you don't set you're facebook stream up via stream key you're minutes don't register with them.
Do they have a roadmap or timeline of development? Like near and long term goals? I'd like to see that. Might also add that last I checked, you could not stream Minecraft or newer CoD games, as well as a couple of others. Looking forward to them overcoming that so i can switch my kids (Minecraft players) to Prism
Am Impressed
It looks great, but my complicated stream and not sure if the plug-ins I use are compatible with prism. Still staying with OBS for now
It could be a good choice for now. But I think our app is getting better faster. We hope that one day you will use our app :-)
@@prismlivestudio I look forward to it. Ya'll are doing some great things.
According to my recent findings, starting from 4.0.0, PRISM supports all OBS plugins.
Prism Live looks really awesome. I tried it out myself and it definitely is as easy to use (in fact easier) than OBS. I love the feature to multi-stream and all the interactive features (drawing, stickers, etc.). The ONLY thing holding me back is that I am streaming from an older PC and efficiency is an absolute MUST. So, I'll be sticking with OBS for now, but I'll have my eye on Prism.
does this have a preview screen like OBS?
Every time he was doing overlays it was on that preview screen.

Do they have split screen,
Rumble included in multiplatform stream,
Customisable Chat with many options?
