I was eating food a few hours ago I had just gotten from a drive thru in the parking lot and I was watching one of these shows and coincidentally there was a truck in the parking lot that had its Hood up and people were trying to get it started I sat there for 15 minutes watching them try to get their truck going and after watching all these shows I'm like well fuck people spend hours of their time helping strangers in third world countries in awful conditions I would be a huge asshole if I didn't go offer my assistance and sure as shit they need a jump start because his truck ran out of fuel and he ran out of battery trying to start it and after being there for 20 minutes the whole time I sat there and just watched the deadliest roads about Ghana and then he finally got it going and I felt grateful I was able to help the dude because I've been in that situation more times I care to remember and nobody ever helped me I used to live out of my car on and off when times became rough but I always had to rely on roadside assistance or my family and honestly I probably wouldn't have helped had I not been watching a marathon of these shows lately where people volunteer hours of their time at their own peril to help a stranded motorist so I just said fuck it imma help these people get on their way these kinda shows can really humble you and make you appreciate something as simple as a paved highway and a well maintained vehicle at least that's how I feel

Wolves really only hunt for food, not for fun, but you hunters see wolves as competition for hunting, and that's why you kill them

I am from Prykarpattya(a valley on the foot of Carpathian mountains in Ukraine) and i honestly don't think we belong on this series. With all due respect there are much more dangerous places in the world. Yes we have snow and mud but you have to try really hard to get killed or freeze to death. Now, with war maybe we belong on this list, idk. It's not as bad as "The Road of Death" or NIagara rapids. This is a pretty chill place, i recommend it for family vacation. After war ends of course.
*Oh and now that i watched this video for a while i see that you've mixed Carpathian region with Bukovina and Polissia(Zhytomir, Prypiat') like it's all in the same spot. There is at least 500km between the two. Totally different people and cultures.

    • @incumbentvinyl9291
      @incumbentvinyl9291 Год назад +8

They can't show the same African roads every time. This was interesting, even if the roads aren't quite as bad as in some other places on the show.
Yes, I too noticed that about Prypiat, it's in a completely different area. It does make for a media sexy story, which is pure ignorance.
It's also ignorant to claim that Ukrainians 500km apart are ''totally different people'' with a different culture. They are the same people with an extremely similar culture.

I can see your point. I saw many of the ones on places like The Congo, and I can't see how Ukraine compares.
It would be like putting where I live (Canada) on this. Like, yes, we have long winters of -40 or colder, yes, some of the roads in the rural areas are bad, especially if it's a blizzard, yes, people do occasionally die of hypothermia, and, in my province (Saskatchewan) there is no longer any provincial bus service...but we're not up there with the Ivory Coast or the Congo.
I hope you stay safe. And that evil Ruzzian Terrorists are soon out of your beautiful country.

When was this filmed? Video is like a year ago, but 2.500 UAH payment to postman as 75 USD is from pre-war times, i.e. before 2022?
At the same time, how did Chernobyl get there? Just because many would like to talk about it.
Roads are not so much problematic here, it is old cars from 1975 that do not fit those roads. Everyone else around uses old Soviet or Russian "Lada Niva" 4x4 and can drive, foresters have army 4x6 and winch on their car, tracked swamp machine (GAZ-70) is suitable as well.

I was a sales agent and went a lot on such roads in all seasons and in winter for almost 5 years. I had a regular sedan with a much lower landing than this Moskvitch. I've only gotten stuck once in several years, and that was because I stopped to pull out a stuck Zhiguli and then couldn't get going. This Dmitrii drives very carelessly and plays for the camera. Local residents do not drive there like that. You should have good tires and drive carefully and everything will be fine with you. Thanks for the release from Ukraine, but our roads are clearly not deadly dangerous. Maybe this Dmitrii is a little bit dangerous for other drivers because of his driving skills. It's very rare to see in the Carpathians such a car now, even in the small distant villages. Nothing to compare with these poor guys for example from Congo or Senegal who are literally surviving there. Carpathians is an amazing tourist area with a lot of hotels, terrific mountains, nature, and a big skiing resort there.

Men not getting full rations or expired ones from years ago, having to buy their own gear (like boots, uniforms, helmets, ect.) Even alot of donated gear was sold off instead of distributed amoung the men so the higher up could make a quick buck of the backs of the men on the field. What a beautiful documentary of life in Ukraine's remotest villages. Salute to the film producers ! As of 2021, still a pity that corruption is rife in the smaller towns and the Carpathian forests are disappearing. Putin's War in 2022 is rapidly changing Ukraine's corruption problem with electronic payment systems, drones and sweeping new powers to the Anti-Corruption Bureau unlike in Russia ! To be in the EU, Ukraine sees the need to change to European (not post-Soviet) methods. Slava Ukrainy !

I think war is the way to protect Ukrainian corruption from law and terminate our attending to the EU, everyone knows how close Ukrainian oligarchs are related to Russia, and they're still impacting on Ukrainian politics... It's a closed circuit. War won't end.

@@calokraine5901 You give them too much credit. Freed from the tyranny of the Soviet Union, Ukraine was faced with the choice of subjugation, once more, to Russia, to dictatorship and repression, or to look towards the West, towards Europe, towards freedom. Neither Victoria Nuland nor Mr. Obama could have created the phenomenon of the Euromaidan protests. Sure, Victoria Nuland was there, but you can be sure, there were plenty of FSB and GRU agents present as well. But it was a remarkable uprising and the people spoke. The people attempted to speak in Belorussia as well a year or two ago. There was a glimpse, a hope, a possibility, but finally, unable to control his people, the dictator Lukashenko called for help from Putin. Putting down peaceful protests is something Putin has plenty of experience with, so he sent in his troops and they brutally put down the protests. Now there is no possibility of hope for those Belorussians, in fact, it is likely that Belorussia will be annexed to Russia.
