- Hunting in upstate South Carolina and got my first deer of the 2021 season yesterday with my Wicked Ridge M-370 crossbow. Things happened so fast and I had to make a split decision. Two blade Rage broadhead did the trick again. Love the hunt!

Just got buck #2 this year! You can catch that video here: ruclips.net/video/N04mA1MzyhA/видео.html
Great crossgun. My wife uses that one and i recommend it to anyone who asks about what crossgun to get.
BADASS! Love it when I find new channels about hunting in the south! I look forward to watching your other stuff
Glad you enjoyed it man!
Great video! No fluff, just the real stuff. You had very little time to decide on that buck and I thought you did the right thing. Any deer by bow is a trophy in my mind. No need to apologize. You tried to stop him but he wasn't going to stop. Good job filming. I know that must be tough. Bow hunting is already tough enough. Best of luck in the '22 season.
Thanks Johnny Dollar! Yea it was a quick deal for sure and yea that filming adds a whole lot more difficulty into the hunt. Best of luck to you as well!
Nice deer. Got my first crossbow deer last Saturday, a doe and dang proud of it.
That's awesome! Congrats on that. That will be the first of many.
Great video. I love hearing the deer walking in.
Thanks for watching Daniel!
Congratulations. I havhe only been out once so far. Nothing worth shooting. Will be out in Cross Hill Sc again this weekend. Thanks for the video
@Stan Schoemer - Thanks Stan! Things are ramping up like always so the next 3 weeks oughta be great hunting. Good luck!
Nice buck congratulations good luck with this years season and hope you get another Buck with your crossbow
Thanks man! I hope I get another buck with it too this year. Good luck to you as well!
@@BooneDownSouth thanks and your welcome
Hey bud what do you mean little six-point that's a really nice big six point in my book congratulations what a nice shot and what a nice deer
You are absolutely right Don! I had a nice 8 pt that I had on camera that I thought this guy was. But this was pretty wide for an 6 pt and when I shot I thought it was the 8 point so that is the reference though.
That show is some mighty fancy camo you got there Boone
Yea that is my Titan 3D leafy suit I got last year. Works really well in the early part of the season while the trees still have leaves on and works great for turkey season too. You can check out the review on it here - ruclips.net/video/vfteHHWs-yU/видео.html
Great shot. Thanks for sharing it 😊 🙂 😀.
Thanks Tom!
Nice hunt what broad heads are you using just went out and got myself a m370 have not even shot it yet but looking forward to shoot it this spring.
Paul I use Rage 2 blade 100 grain NC crossbow broadheads. Here is a link: amzn.to/3fL5pZ2
I have been shooting 2 blade Rage broadheads for probably 10 years or more now, both compound bow and crossbow. They have never failed me and the hole they punch through is amazing. Hope you enjoy your M370. I am still extremely happy with mine. I ended up hunting with my M370 the entire hunting season and never picked up my rifle.
Great video, congrats! Keep it going!
Thank you! We are hitting peak right now so I am hoping to bag one this week and hopefully get that on film too.
Great shot!
Yea that was just so crazy. It all seemed faster in real life.
Very cool video, great shot!
Thanks man! I get lucky every now and then ;)
Great hunt perfect deer congrats
Thanks Chuck!
How is sc hunting? (I live in ny) do you experience poison snacks, spiders or tickets often?
We have good hunting down here. We have lots of deer. We don't have lots of quality deer that you would find in the midwest. We do have poisonous snakes, but in my 20+ years here I have only run into 2 or 3 of them. Prior to that I lived and hunted in Florida, and running into snakes was a regular occurrence. There are plenty of spiders and ticks, but the spiders is more of an annoyance walking into a web every now and then. We will find ticks on us a couple times a year, not necessarily from hunting but from other activities. I live rural.
Would you recommend this crossbow now that you have some experience using it?
Titus - I love this crossbow. I have hunted 3 seasons with it now exclusively and harvested 8 deer with it so far. It has been fantastic.
@Boone Down South thanks for the feed back I usually use a compound but I tore my bicep and am not going to have enough time to heal before the fall and use my bow so Im Looking into crossbows. What bolt/broadhead setup you running?
Congratulations and great shot! You really had to shoot fast and thread the needle to get this one done! Good job on the self filming too, I'm using an older CANON Vixia G 20,and use the remote control sometimes as well. Have you had good luck and results with the Wicked Ridge M 370?
Thank you Ranger Ron! I got a little better with the Canon Vixia as the year went on and was able to capture harvesting two other deer with it. An 8 pt and a doe at different times. I love my M 370. So far I have harvested 6 deer with it and plan to harvest more with it this year. In fact, last season I never even picked up a rifle. I went the whole season with the M 370 and will be using it again this season.
@@BooneDownSouth The reason that I asked, was I had long considered getting one, but recently heard so many bad things about them at my local Bass Pro Shops archery department. They had three in the back range they couldn't sell for some reason. And Cabela's had a sale of more than ten of these, factory refurbished for $500, but I was wondering why. Going to stay with Barnett for another season, and maybe get an upgrade next year.
@@boomerrangerron Oh wow.. that's crazy. I did a review on it after I got it and you can check that out here: ruclips.net/video/VKWmK4Gg3qk/видео.html It is a totally independent review. I don't get paid to endorse it. I just review what I buy. I hunt a lot during the season in SC (which is long) and I go on a 1 week trip to Ohio each year as well. My M-370 has been through a lot of use in the last 2 years and it's still great so I hope that was just a bad batch they had there.
@@BooneDownSouth Yes, I recall that video, I even commented and you replied. Where do you hunt in Ohio? I grew up in the Northeast near Youngstown. Last hunted there in 2018 in the southern part. We didn't do well, but there's a lot of deer and its beautiful if not rugged country. My very first video:
ruclips.net/video/ItlJYYu5myc/видео.html
What crossbow is this?? Nice shot!
This is a Wicked Ridge M-370. I have taken 8 deer with it so far and it has been a crossbow. You can watch the review of it here: ruclips.net/video/VKWmK4Gg3qk/видео.html BTW. It is currently on sale at BassPro/Cabelas for $500.
Nice deer. Great video. What county are you hunting in the upstate of SC? I hunt York county.
Thanks man! I am hunting in the bottom of Greenville County. This year is definitely a hot year. I shot this one last Wednesday, then Friday my daughter shot a 7 pt, then this past Monday I shot an 8 pt with my crossbow over a scrape. Good luck to you this season!
@@BooneDownSouth dang sounds like y’all are having a great season so far. I shot a cull buck back on 10/16. My 2 buddies that I have our property leased with have both taken a couple does, and one of them took a nice 8pt yesterday. I hope y’all’s season keeps going great. I look forward to your next video.
@@phillipdavis2239 That's awesome. These next two weeks are prime time so just keep at it. I did get an 8pt filmed but messed filming that up too! The GoPro 360 got everything though. I had the Canon Vixia recording this time at least, but I was too cropped in. I have to get this down before I go to Ohio man!
@@BooneDownSouth dang!!!! Good luck let’s know how you do. We are gonna be after it hard for the next month!!! 😁😁
@@phillipdavis2239 Yea man Good luck to you too! Favorite time of the year.
bravo
Thank you sir!
Very nice.
Thank you Ricky!
@@BooneDownSouth I am just now starting to film my hunts and your channel is an inspiration. Also this coming season will be my first with a crossbow.
@@rickybutler5849 Yea man it adds a whole 'nother dimension to hunting and it takes awhile to get things down. So much can go wrong and you forget stuff and all kinds of crazy happens. If you haven't seen it yet, check out this video I did earlier this year: ruclips.net/video/WdlHHloxjvw/видео.html It goes over what I have learned about self filming my hunts. Good luck to you on this next season!
Nice shot nice shot
Thanks Don! I love this crossbow.
Nice hunt! I've been out 6 times and haven't seen anything worth shooting.
Btw, I appreciate your comments on tree stand safety. If only more folks would see the need.
@parallaxbill2 - Thank you sir! I run 7 cameras so I have a good idea of what's out there and thought for sure he was one of the 8 pts I had on camera. I haven't seen this buck before. I will tell you when I dropped him off at the processor there where some nice ones there. It's that time of year so hopefully you will have a nice one come on ya soon. Yea I hate when I hear of these treestand accidents because they really are preventable with the right gear.
How far was the shot? 👍
It was right around 20 yards.
How high up are you?
From the base of the tree only 10 ft however, the base of the tree is already like 15 feet above the area where the deer is. There is a steep slope from the tree down to the bottom.
Man I remember the years when I was 8 and 9 when my and grandpa would walk up the mountain to our blind at 2am still dark out and get in the blind or tower stand he build and be where they travel through as morning light breaks almost always deer right in front of us.
Now I just get up at 1 am ride the atv up to stand in stand by 2 and will sit there. Gives deer time to settle down If they got spooked almost always get a deer a day till my season limit that way.
Yea I know someone who kept spooking deer going in to his spot each morning so he decided to drive his truck close to the spot the night before. Slept in the truck and woke up in the morning with a nice buck in front of him. Game over! Good memories there Mountaineer Moto!
@@BooneDownSouth so let me know what you think.
My property is about 40 acres one entire hill in west virginia. My neighbors are all about 30 to 40 acres one all sides of me they all use atvs I'm in the middle they travel to there location about 6 am a title of 20 atvs running at same time on all sides. I sit in a location on top of hill where I can watch there entire property while is hills leading into a field on my property where my plot is.
Like I said I'm in the stand or blind by 2 am this gives deer time to settle down bur Also 9 times out of 10 what ever deer I may of spooked are on there way back to me around 630 am generally not running but sneaking takeing this into consideration I really can say me using an atv hurts my hunt as the time I'm getting in the stand is illegal to shoot. Plus I believe it helps because not only are all my deer coming back but theirs to
👍🏹🙏
🇧🇷😁👍
Oh yea!
Just stumbled across your channel, nice content! Self filming is a challenge, if hunting alone isn’t a challenge enough lol. I subscribed to your channel, looking forward to see this years hunts. I live and hunt around the upstate and started a channel as well if you’d like to check it out, thanks man! @HuntingSC
Yes the last two years I have learned a lot about self filming. It definitely adds a whole nother dimension to the hunt. I will check out your channel for sure man!
I'd say he ate good
I would say.. most definitely!
Very young dear! probably haven’t even mated yet
Yep he was young. He was wide and it happened real fast, I thought he was the bigger 8 point.
🥺🥺🥺🥺
Would have been a decent buck in two years
