- About a week left in our long South Carolina hunting season and I needed to burn my last doe tag. I really had two targets, a half racked buck that kept showing up on my cameras and a good doe. I could have shot does all season long almost every other time I was out, but now once I got focused on a doe, I was seeing nothing but small bucks.
Finally got the job done with my Wicked Ridge M-370 with Rage 2 bladed broadheads. This season I switched over to the lighted nocs and I am a believer.

This crossbow has been fantastic! I have exclusively hunted with this for the last 4 seasons. My rifle is getting sad. But I am about to pull it out for an Alabama hunt in January!
Man Tenpoint owes you money, I was kinda iffy on getting the alpha blazes but this video absolutely made me confident I should buy them 😂
I tell you it's nice. I mean even when I was tracking this deer which ended up not going far at all, I could glance back and see where the arrow was in the ground. They are nice to have for sure. I mean really even in the daytime they are helpful in quickly finding your arrow after you shoot.
@@BooneDownSouth absolutely, in the past I’ve always just needed bright bright vanes like pink or yellow but even that sometimes is so hard to find the bolt, excited to try the alpha blazes when they ship to me!

So while hunting do you hold your cross bow or hang it then grab it for shot?
I am one of those guys who always holds my weapon. I have watched those videos were the guys have there bow or crossbow hanging and then grab it for a shot. I hunt pretty close and typically only have a view out to 40 yards in the thick stuff I hunt. That means when an animal comes in, it is close. I don't ever see an animal at 150 yards and then have time to get my weapon ready. At 40 yards, that is a lot of extra movement. It is definitely a preference thing though.
How high are you in tree
So in this video, I am not high from the base of the tree, only like 10 ft high. But the base of the tree is at the top of the slope from the food plot and that slope is like another 15 ft. Normally i hunt around 20 ft high. Just depends on the tree canopy and cover. Sometimes you can go too high and have too many branches in your way for shots.
