@@LifeofSol1 Let's be honest here, Pep may be very strict with what players do off the pitch but he does it for a reason. Like Vincent Kompany said, Pep always tells his players that their careers as football players is very short and they should aspire to concentrate and achieve the very best while they can. Look at Sterling now at Chelsea. Things aren't going as planned are they?
Sterling is 27. He should have stayed at City under Pep. Pep gave Sterling chances to redeem himself even when Sterling was clearly inconsistent and out of form. Even the media kept asking Pep why he kept playing Sterling despite his poor run of form. Pep even gave Sterling a starting place in the Champions league final against Chelsea 2 seasons ago. He wanted Sterling to redeem himself on the grandest stage but he went missing. Sterling then had the audacity to do an interview after he signed for Chelsea that he was unhappy with game-time at City. After all the chances Pep gave him.
There is a very high chance that Sterling will never enjoy the same success he did at City under Pep. He has joined a club that changes managers like underwear.
You are worried about Pep being rigid with his players off the pitch? Sterling has not even hit 30 yet. His main concentration should be football. He will have plenty of time to do other things in a few years when he hits past the 30 year old mark and maybe retires to MLS.
Pep worked with players like Messi, Iniesta, Xavi etc. These players rarely induldged in anything but football even outside the pitch. It is why they reached the highest of levels. Pep knows what he is doing. Sterling being 27, one could say, he is in his prime and he should take advantage of it.
He should have stayed a liverpool in that case a club with soul
