- Today I'm doing a day hike at Clifty Falls State Park, Indiana! Sometimes it's nice to get out into nature, even if it's not on an exciting trip somewhere new. In this hiking vlog, let's listen to the peaceful sounds of nature and enjoy the beautiful spring day together!

Hi, I’m Maddie! Celebrating an outdoor adventure with a beer has been a long-time tradition for me, and I wanted to create a platform for like-minded folks to come together. Clifty is one of Indiana's BEST natural features. And yeah, people typically don't realize that southern Indiana has some hills. Not Mts. & not elevation, but lots of little steep hills. Thanks again Maddie!
I like how your videos are pure, clean, and innocent. Feels like I’m watching my own daughter who is about your age. I was nervous when you stepped on unstable rocks. I can’t imagine how your parents felt lol.

Great video Maddie! That water really sounds beautiful! We have a week of rain coming our way but this video reminded me that rain or shine I just want to be outside! And you are so right, I find myself dreaming of hiking the PCT and the JMT so often but this year I'm hiking in my own backyard and the The Superior Hiking Trail so I need to remind myself to enjoy the little adventures and the big accomplishments even close to home!
Oh that’s so cool! I don’t know if you may have already discovered this, but I did the SHT in 2021!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces your SHT is the reason I want to complete it! Doing hard things can be fun and I really can't wait to take my son on this one when it's so close to home. We live in Northern Iowa and are so excited to go!

Hi, Maddie. Hope all is well. Wow! You go to so many beautiful places. Finally, I left my cave and saw the sun again, and had a great time. I'm a wild animals magnet. Especially for apex predators. Do you encounter wild animals often?

Thank you, Pops Pops! I saw a turkey and a rabbit on this hike, but my last outing was kayaking with alligators, turtles, and birds down in Florida, so I guess I've been pretty lucky when it comes to seeing animals lately!
@BeerinBeautifulPlaces I watched your videos in Florida and reminded me of a fresh water fishing trip that I went with my family many years ago, and there were all kinds of lethal wild animals, including alligators. That was one of the scariest adventures of my life and one of the greatest adventures that I experienced.

The green has popped amazingly here, too. I've lived in California for most of my adult life and it doesn't green up like it does here in the North East!

Thanks for the reminder and the nudge Maddie. There’s a park that looks very like Clift Falls just a few miles from my house in the heart of Philadelphia, and I still haven’t gotten there for a hike this spring 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️. Gonna have to do something about that! ♥️
If you stand behind President's building at HAnover College you'll the only view of three bends in the Ohio River that you can see at one time
Getting out of that valley is not my favorite part of that park lol. I find peace at Mount Saint Francis. Beautiful serene park in Floyd's Knobs. Love to hike with you sometime!

sometime your "backyard" is a great escape. most people don't really have to travel far at all

Have you ever been to Hocking Hills state park? Its just one state over in Ohio. It's supposed to have cool caves and waterfalls. It's on my bucket list.
