I really love your reaction dude, please check out their king cover its awesome too. Also I would recommend if you focus more on per talent of vtubers to better understand them specially calli's songs.
You definitely need to check out Ironmouse. She's truly amazing in every way. Her covers just hit you in the feels due to the emotions she conveys. I'd suggest "Breathe" or "Misterioso". She sings them in her "Operatic Voice". Her cover of "Creep" is great also.
Basically, Calli and Gura each have a name for their fanbases, being the "deadbeats" for Calli, hence the skrellingtons, and for Gura, "Shrimps" as a play on the words "Simp" and the Shark/oceanic vibes of her character. As for what you should check out next, as someone else said i'd say "Reflect" By Gura, it delves a bit more in her character of this atlantean Shark (megalodon?), how she had to "split" her personality from red to blue and is her first, personnal song.
A funny coincidence there btw. Gura's fans became known as Shrimps (I personally still prefer Chumbuddies) just a short moment before Twitch (I think?) started punishing people for using the word simp. I've now heard simp being replaced with shrimp almost everywhere, Gura is eternal. =D
My top recommendations after this would be Gura's "Reflect" and also Moona Hoshinova's "High Tide". If you want another Calli collab song, another really underappreciated one is called "spiral tones" by her and Rikka of Holostars. If you're looking for more of just her alone, my top picks would be "Red", "MERA MERA" and "end of a life".
@@world4saker Mostly trying to ease him in with stuff closer to his tastes right now, but Alice&U is definitely a must listen. One of my top picks for sure.
Gura is actually the most subscribed to vtuber with over 4 million subscribers. Her popularity skyrocketed right after her debut stream due to the way she opened it.
Actually she also blew up because her previous channel had over a million subs and many already knew who she was from day 1 but decided to keep it on the down low for Gura's sake.
We Skeletons are called Deadbeats that's that name Calli gave us on her Debut and the Shrimps are Gura's Fan base, she also calls them the Chumbuds. Calli and Gura put out some of the best stuff it feels, cuz they approach it like two Bros just having fun making a song. And if you pay attention in the opening Line Gura actually says how to pronounce her name it's like Gah-ow Goo-rah. The major thing with Holo EN is they all fit into different Niches with their music but can really turn up their own style to match each other. All of the Girls are worth viewing their music at least once or if you want the full Picture look at the tracks as a Group: Myth or Treat, Journey like a Thousand Years, and the newest song Non-Fiction. it really shows off the group as a whole as singers.
I second "Myth or Treat", "Journey like a Thousand Years", and "Non-Fiction" (in that order to see how they have progressed as a group of singers) along with their solo and collab performances. I'm hesitant to suggest their Country Roads cover more because of the production side of it. They (mostly) sing it well, but it doesn't feel quite right both for the song and for them. How you can refer to Gura... well, there's a clip where she casually lists quite a few names she has gone by. Here's a few: Goomba, Gooby, Gargoyle, George (from mishearing members of the JP branch saying "Jaws"). As a final Hololive recommendation, at some point you should check out the Hololive Alternative teasers. Calli sings Dawn Blue (the song in the first teaser) and Suisei, with AZKi, Moona Hoshinova (from the Indonesian branch), and IRyS (a debuted solo in the English branch under Project:Hope), perform the song from the second teaser (which I don't recall the name of). Finally, definitely check out Ironmouse. She sings well in her normal speaking voice, but when she's able to use her Opera Voice... *chef's kiss*
Pronunciation for Gura: "Gar Goora" Q is definitely an incredible song, and Gura REALLY sells it with her sort of bratty (a.k.a. "kusogaki") energy. The skeletons are the Deadbeats, Calli's fanbase, and the shrimps are Gura's fanbase (known as "Shrimps" or "Chumbuds" since Gura's character is a shark from Atlantis). Also, it should be noted that the animation for this video was done by Kay Yu, one of the primary animators for the River City Girls game and pretty well known in the animation world for both games and anime, and who went on to make one of the most popular Hololive fan games out there, HoloCure, which is a super fun Vampire Survivors clone. Great reaction as always dude!
Thanks for the enthusiastic reaction, love your VTuber reacts. My recommendations: "Reflect" by Gawr Gura "End of a Life" by Calliope Mori "Violet" by Ninomae Ina'nis "Hinotori" by Takanashi Kiara "Palette" by Tokoyami Towa "High Tide" by Moona Hoshinova "Alice&u" by Ayunda Risu There are many, many, MANY, more amazing original tracks and covers at Hololive, but this is a good start, none of these songs are what you would expect and I guarantee you will have your socks blown off in surprise.
I would recommend also taking a look at some of Callis others solo-music, most notably: RED, The Reaper Is A Livestreamer and End of A Life, each which has its own unique vibe and attitude but each uniquily brilliant.
Gawr Gura is also a English vtuber that debuted with Calli and 3 other girls. Gawr Gura became the fastest growing vtuber by being the first vtuber to reach 1 million subscribers and in only 1 month. Now in 2 years she has 4 million subscribers.
Though she is no longer the fastest vtuber to reach 1 million as that now belongs to Hyakumantenbara Salome from Nijisanji getting there in just 13 days and a few hours.
Calli and Gura's King cover is a great one. Lots of people saying Reflect, which is another good song. Tokoyami Towa's "Palette" or her cover of "Error" are also great options! There's a whole lot of options and I'm sure you'll get through many of them. Outside of Hololive, Ironmouse has a fantastic voice and hearing someone react to it for the first time is always a treat.
I don't know enough about Calli or Gura to suggest anything but I have to insist on getting to know Ironmouse. Her and I were going through health shit at the same time and she's what helped bring me back to life. She's the reason I became a vtuber and a big part of the reason I found you guys in the first place. I owe Mouse so much for being such an inspiration to me and to everybody who is broken but still wants to make a difference in peoples lives. I love you, Mouse
Heres a quick mention about Ironmouse, she had an illness, which i believe is(correct me if im wrong) CVID, her immune system is really weak, but before she got it she was trained in Opera so her voice when singing is amazing even tho she cant sing for long otherwise it hurts. Also i suggest Gura’s Reflect and obviously Towa(cover of Error and original Palette) bcs she’s my oshi
Also at 3:40 u are right, the Skeletons are Calli’s fans(Deadbeats) cuz she’s a Grim Reaper and Gura’s Shrimps(Cuz she’s a shark) Also Gawr Gura…Gawr is like how u would say the word Gore
@@vegetarex155 With all that knowledge it's easy to see how deep you are into the rabbit hole. A true apostle x) Regarding the pronunciation: "Gore" but with the vowel sound of the "a" from "father" (or from her debut xD) instead of the one from "law". She actually pronounces her name in the very beginning of the song at 1:48 herself ^^
@@Sutherus i have fallen deep brother, there is no way out Also srry but yeah what this person says, i just said “gore” but didnt exactly explain much beside it
Gawr Gura is the biggest vtuber in terms of subscribers, at over 4 million. Also, even though she sings entirely in Japanese in this song, Gura actually streams in English, part of Mori Calliope's subgroup in Hololive EN - Myth.
Calli’s followers are called Deadbeats (represented as skeletons), Gura’s followers being Shrimps (play on the word simps). You’ll probably love Calli’s raps.
There's something just so wholesome about watching someone broadening they're horizons with so much enthusiasm. Plus, it's funny to me how out of the comfort zone all this is.
I highly recommend checking out I'm your Treasure Box by Houshou Marine for a very different style from the other Holi girls you've checked out so far, song has subtitled english captions to turn on aswell. As for more Calli I recommend the recently done song with Tsunokami Watame Reaper vs Sheep both the Ouen and the Kenko version of the song, who also have subtitles avaible.
Gura hasn't done alot of solo music unfortunately. She has a few covers and originals with other hololive members. However check out her 3d concert performance of Recipe, or her singing Ride on Time from her debut. She does alot of karaoke streams and is such a talented singer but her real forte is City Pop.
Several others have already mentioned some stuff about Gawr Gura. But to say her name can be pronounced as Gawr ("g-arr" in english or "g-ow" in JP) Gura (you pronounced it correctly!) Both Calli and Gura are part of the first EN branch [HoloMyth] of Hololive together. They both debuted together within the same week and they're both very talented as you can tell! Calli's fanbase is called the "Deadbeats" so skeletons are their visual personification. Gura's fanbase are called the ChumBuddies (or [Shrimps] to play on the word "Simp"). There are 3 other members of HoloMyth [Kiara, Ina, and Amelia] that I definitely think you should check out! Kiara has a few songs of her own, Ina has one, and Amelia mostly does covers with other members as of right now. Continuing with Gura though; Gura is not only the most subscribed EN Vtuber ever, she's the most subscribed Vtuber in the entire world. She managed to hit 1 MILLION subscribers in the first 3 months of her debut (September 2020) and she continued to hit milestone after milestone in her first year as a Vtuber (currently at 4+ million subscribers after 2 years). She is also not a native japanese speaker and she barely speaks any japanese at all prior to working for Hololive. Currently she's still struggling to handle casual conversations with her JP coworkers, but her pronunciation when singing is absolutely phenomenal to the point her JP coworkers are amazed by her as well. Her first original song [Reflect] is incredibly catchy and blends 3 languages together (English, Japanese, and a small Greek part to coincide with her character's Atlantean backstory).
My favorite thing about Gura and Calli's songs is that, despite Calli being practically fluent in Japanese, Gura(who speaks very little Japanese) always ends up as the one singing the Japanese potions of the songs. I mean, I can't blame them. She sings it like a pro. It's just a really funny thing to keep in mind.
Watch Calli/Gura King cover, it's a great twist on the song. Also you could watch Reflect by Gura, it's her first original song and has many layers of meaning regarding her, her character, and even her past persona.
Fun fact. Gura doesn't speak Japanese lol. Calli's song "Red" was one of her biggest hits. Personally my favorite song from her :). There's also lots of hololive meme music remixed from their livestreams and collabs like pop on rocks. Lots of fanmade hololive games too like smol ame. There are also fun original animations like holymyth vs ina and detective diaries | hololive animation. Then you've got the gaming content like the seasons of Rust and Ark. Currently kobo and tempus are popping off with valorant. That's just hololive : D. There's vshojo, nijisanji, and trash taste too. All of it is interconnected. Don't forget Karen and Chris Broad :D.
Gura was so good at singing in Japanese that many of her colleagues in the JP division, and even her own "mother" (character designer) were surprised to learn that she cannot speak the language at all.
Gura voice is so much amazing her karaoke streams are always bangger you can check those karaoke at your own free time also she does not have much but few original song like "Reflect".
What's funny about this video in particular is that Kay Yu, the person who animated it, then went on to make a game about hololive based on this music video, where you play as one of the hololive talents and battle against hordes of rogue fans. It's addictive and definitely worth a solid 30 minutes to an hour of your time. Any more than that and you might get too hooked. I lost 5 hours of an entire day when I first played it.
The two of them made a cover of the song king (almost every vtuber did that) but they added a bit of their own style instead of a plain cover. Also Gura has a very nice singing voice and I love her karaoke singing of frank sinatras fly me to the moon. Sadly since it was an unarchived stream you would need to look for a clipped version.
So happy that you are going down this rabbit hole with such enthusiasm! Since you mentioned you are a metalhead, I definitely recommend Tokoyami Towa and her songs Akuma, born to be real, and My Roar off of her Scream EP. They don't have music videos, but they are definitely some of my favorite songs in Hololive.
oh my god i love your reaction i am so happy for how much you like them that i got tears in my eyes watching you see these and just geniuenly being super happy about it. its so great :D
3:26 The monions are supposed to be they're fans, the skeletons are from calli (cuz she's the represention of the grim reaper) and the shrimps are from gura (cuz she is a representation of a shark girl from Atlantis). Btw next u should check "Palette" from Tokoyami Towa.
Since you are about to dive into the Japanese music industry here's a list of most iconic Japanese songs that everybody knows about you might wanna check out: 1. Zenbousakura - Hatsune Miku 2. God knows... - Suzumiya Haruhi 3. Re:Re - Asian Kung Fu Generation 4. Plastic Love - Mariya Takeuchi 5. No Title - Reol
I love your reactions! you heard Calli, Suisei and Gura sings but you havent heard Moona before she's an amazing singer from Hololive Indonesia, I recommend her two origial songs "Ai no Chiisana Uta" and "Hightide".
The VTuber music scene has a little something for everyone, just like the anime community. EDIT: Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid. EDIT 2: You pronounce Gura's first name as "G-OW-R". That 'high voice' is literally just what she sounds like, even before she was Gura.
IIRC, the animator for this song is actually someone who worked on Kill La Kill. Or some other intense combat anime, if it wasn't Kill La Kill. That's why the animation is so clean in this one.
the person who animated this MV also made a popular fanmade hololive game called holocure even people that have no idea about hololive or vtubers enjoy playing it
would love to see you react to Gawr Gura's original song "Reflect" its my favorite hololive song also it haves english subtitles so remember to turn those on
3:30 Their fanbase names are. Dead Beats (Calli) Chumbuds (Gura) Her channel members are referred to as MemberShrimp. Both are part of Hololive EN Gen 1 AKA Hololive Myth
Just found your channel and I'm having a blast watching. As others in the comments have said, Reflect by Gawr Gura is an amazing song. Also I know you reacted to the original Usseewa a little while ago but Calli has a cover of it as a duet with another vtuber Milky Queen, their voices go together extremely well and make for a good time. My Roar by Tokoyami Towa, You mentioned being a metal head and that may just be the heaviest song in the Hololive catalogue. Lastly, Bully by Calli, you don't know what you're in for with that song and it is always fun seeing someone experience it for the first time.
For context, Gawr is pronounced like "Tower" with a hard R. Basically a growling sound PS: since you're fully in the rabbit hole now, someone actually made a mini anime of Hololive Myth.... like a full-on anime mini story. Although disclaimer--it's not quite finished yet. So it's up to you if you wanna wait till the final part is finished next month or so. It's called "Holomyth vs Ina" (Warning: it's f-king spicy)
If you liked Calli's deeper voice then I recommend reacting to Tokoyami Towa and her original song Pallette, the song really shows off her amazing voice and the MV for it is beautiful.
You need to check out Guras original song Reflect. Also Cali and Gura did a duet cover of a song called King. I hate saying stuff like this but it blows the original out of the water for me.
God yes, you gotta react to their cover of “King.” The song is good overall and has been covered a million times by multiple people but Calli and Gura’s cover of the song is by far my absolute favorite.
The animation for this MV was actually done by a guy who made a serious Hololive game. A vampire survivor type game starring the English girls and some of the Japanese girls he just recently added in an update.
Ah finally on to Gura content, welcome to the rabbit hole. Hope you enjoy your stay Edit: Gura just recently did a live 3D concert that you'd probably enjoy
Gura does a lot of karaoke streams too. Covers a wide variety of songs. Frank Sinatra, Tatsuro Yamashita, Disney songs, Christmas songs, Sabaton, sea shanties, Imagine Dragons. And she somehow nails every single one. Due to copyright she can't keep them up on her channel of course, but people do upload clips. A personal favorite of mine is her cover of Sunday Morning. Such a soft song that she delivers perfectly. And then the opposite, Rockefeller Street, which she sings at increasing speed beyond mortal comprehension.
Just bros being bros. These two are hysterical on stream together. They're either bickering, with Gura using her "brat" energy and cursed knowledge trying to tease Calli, who tends to panic a lot and dislikes losing control of a situation - or they're sharing the same singular brain cell. Sometimes both. If you want to see more of them together, I'd recommend two songs performed by their whole Generation (the 5 girls who started their VTuber career together) - "Myth or Treat" and "Non-Fiction" Those two are both written by Calli and show two extremes of her writing: "Myth or Treat" was a silly little treat released for Halloween last year. It was written by Calli in a single night with a bottle of wine, but is still packed full with references and double meanings galore, on top of being incredibly fun. "Non-Fiction" on the other hand is the group's latest song together and reflects their resolve after 2 years in the business, with a rocky beginning. Calli folded so many meanings about the group and each of its members into every line and their singing elevates it to greatness. Oh and it doesn't really matter how you pronounce Gorr Goomba's name. Gorbius has so many nicknames, even the biggest fans have a hard time keeping up with all the variations they've come up with for Goob's name. Gan Goyla, Gaga Gugu, Gur Gombus, Gaw Guwu, Gooba, George, Gouda, "G.", "Chef", "Same", "Shorty", "Stinky", "Bonehead", Gurandma, etc....
A lot of other commentors already addressed it, but if you see this: Gawr Gura pronounced like G-aw-r (close to a growl) or G-ow (Japanese onomotopoeia for growling). She has a very unique voice. Would make a ton of sense to go from here to her original single Reflect. Other notables are Tokiyomi Towa's Error cover, or her original Palette. The powerhouses of Hololive, musically, could be said to be Suisei, Risu, probably Moona, AZKi... there are a lot of options, including Calli and even Gura with all of her karaoke streams. Towa may not put out as much music, but *goddamn* if her performance on Error isn't the most passionate one, or tied to be. Beyond that, the rest of Calli's major hits, possibly also Kiara's recent single DO U which is very much EU House / K-Pop but very well done. If I had to pick some songs that would floor you, I'd pick Risu's Alice & U (Live, YT Music Weekend version). Moona's High Tide. IRyS's Till The End of Me.
Ironmouse is amazing. Not only is she a fantastic singer, she's was also formerly in training to be an opera singer, and in recent months has recovered a lot of her ability to use what she calls her "opera voice". You should absolutely check out some of her stuff. In particular, her proper cover of King and he cover of Getcha along with Nyatasha Nyanners, but also some of her karaoke stuff, especially "And I Am Telling You", and "When I Look At You"
Please watch Ironmouse singing in her Operatic voice, personally I recommend her rendition of Ave Maria, it is literally mind blowing how good she is despite her health problems!
The vtuber community is amazing in how they grab what comes up in chat and run with it, instead of being confrontational with the chat. It's the epitome of improv acting, it's the "Yes, and" which is the basis for improv. You wondered if those were shrimps. Yes. They are shrimps. They are the representation of Gawr Gura's fans. They exist as a joke: she misunderstood the word "simp", which seemingly she didn't know at the start, and thought the chat was referring to "shrimps", so she started referring to her viewers as shrimps. And the rest is history. And such is the power of improv and rolling with the punches. This is why I love D&D and similar stuff: the overlap between it and the relationship between streamer and chat is quite large. Seriously, if I had a dollar for each vtuber which developed lore out of the interaction between themselves and their fanbase, I'd have A FUCKING FORTUNE. Seriously. Some have rewritten all of their backstory and retconned it because they love what generated naturally with the interaction between themselves an the fans so much more than what they had thought themselves to begin with. Examples in HL alone in which their current lore developed out of the interaction between streamer and chat: Nene Momosuzu: she's now OUR wife, and also a seal (because her laugh sounds like a seal's) Subaru Oozora: she's now a duck. The chat gaslighted her to eventually believe it. Her lore started as "the manager of an e-sports team in high school". She tried doing ASMR and it was SO BAD and SO CURSED that people joked that she sounded like Donald Duck with throat cancer (she did). So she's been the butt of all jokes from the chat and her mates because of that, and instead of getting angry and antagonizing the chat, she just rolled with it. She's now at least a honorary member of HoloBirbs. Akai Haato / Haachama: The former is her original name and personality. Haachama is a tergiversation of "Haato-sama / Haato-chama / Haachama", a nickname the chat gave her. She grabbed it and made it so that she has 2 personalities, the calm and sweet and a bit tsundere Haato, and the ABSOLUTELY BONKERS ELDRITCH GOD/ABOMINATION that is Haachama. She's the perfect performance artist, seriously. Some of the lore arcs she developed by herself and with her chat are EPIC and have brought more fans into HL than half of the other girls. She even asked her chat which one of the two personalities had to die, and the chat eventually spammed COEXIST and he's both. Seriously, the COEXIST Haato / Haachama arc is absolutely BRUTAL and absolutely amazing. Ayunda Risu: She has 2 personalities, Ayunda and Risu (at least) coexisting in the same body (low pitch voice vs high pitch voice; calm wizard vs. squirrely avatar of utter chaos) because of a stream in which she dropped character after eating stuff so spicy that she couldn't speak normally. The chat eventually gaslighted itself into the belied that it's because there are 2 people in her body and she eventually made it canon: she's a wizard hiding in the body of a Squirrel girl fleeing from persecution. Amelia Watson: went from inventor/chemist who makes concoctions to time traveller, the closest thing that HL has to a Gallifrean Time Lord. Nanashi Mumei: Went from "guardian of civilization" to "Absolutely criminally crazy murderer and psycho with serious issues" due to some incredibly cursed art she showed the chat that can only be made by someone really fucked up or being very good at pretending to be. Gawr Gura: Went from "Atlantean girl who likes sharks and likes to dress up like them, hence the tail" to "the tail is real, I'm a shark girl with gills under the ribs". The JP fans call her "Same"( Sah- meh), which literally means "shark". Minato Aqua: Has several nicknames due to her quirks and her looks: "Ateshi", because of the way she says "Watashi" (rough equivalent to "I" or "Myself"), to the point that her friends in HL refer to her as "Ateshi-sempai" or similar expressions. She's also a Gaming Onion Cat Girl. Gaming because she's a beast at games like Apex. Onion because her hair looks like a purple onion. And cat girl because she eventually got cat ears because she likes cats. To the point that people referred to her not as "Onion" but "Onyan" (O-meow). Ookami Mio: Went from a very chill and a bit dopey wolf girl to, basically, everyone's mama, caring and loving and someone who's always there to help and listen. Her Tarot card streams have been introduced as her main weapon in the independent game "Holocure" based on HL talent. She has a mascot / Stand called Hatotaurus (pidgeon-taurus) that I think she captured in Ark or a similar game and she and the fans liked it so much that she got it made in 3d and is in the background and handling the chat at times. Usada Pekora: Went from "cute and shy and nice bunny girl with serious trust issues" to "WAR CRIMINAL", because of the utterly WHACKED stuff she does in games to the NPCs and to her friends if she can. She's always seen carrying in her hand a bunch of TNT when she's playing Minecraft. That pretty much describes her. Houshou Marine: From pirate to cosplayer pretending to be a pirate, from 17 year old girl to saying each time she turned 1 year more, it was 17 years old, second season, third season and the such, to eventually admitting she's 30 and everyone making fun of her in a joking way calling her old hag. Amane Kanata: From student of the Angelic Academy, an angel who came to earth, to gorilla. Yes. Gorilla. Because seemingly she has a grip strength of over 50 kilos, despite of being a very diminute woman IRL. Tokoyami Towa: From devil, to being called Towa Maji Tenshi (Towa Really an Angel), by literally everyone. If she's a devil, she has to be of the fallen angel variety, and that's still an angel. When she tried to make the chat say TMD (Towa Maji Devil), the chat turned it against her with TMD (Towa Maji Daitenshi, Towa Really an Archangel). Yukihana Lamy: Went from a very meek and shy snow elf to an alcohol sponge and the woman you'd love to have a conversation with over some sake in a matter of half a year. Moona Hoshinova: From model, to potato, to Moon Goddess. Just to mention a few! Sure I'm missing a lot. But seriously, it's this plasticity of the lore what I adore the most. Because it's like a D&D campaign, but without the D&D.
I got excited when you brought up Ironmouse then I remembered that I'm pretty sure I'm the one that requested it in the first place, I knew i made a request for her but didn't really remember who I made the request to XD.
Its important to remember that Cover Corps is an idol agency. While most of their fame and income undoubtably comes from their streaming and not all of their talent are necessarily singers, that is still their focus. Also, if your interested in a fun game, try Holocure. King is good, as is...basically anything that comes out of Hololive it seems. Give any of them a shot. However, with Halloween coming up, try Myth or Treat, which has all the Myth girls in it.
An interesting fact about ironmouse if you decide to watch her is she originally planned to pursue a career as an opera singer, but was diagnosed with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Basically have bad immune systems and needs plasma every week. but her voice is damn great
This song was kinda made as a sequel to Gura and Calli's cover of King, which has a similar vibe, definitely worth checking out too. Also, yes to Ironmouse, 100%.
I enjoyed Metal and Rap and the transition to enjoying Vtuber music was pretty quick. I think it has something to do with complexity and sincerity of the artists. Its just good shit. If you enjoy music, genre doesnt matter. Its quality and originality.
This song is so awesome, we actually see something interesting, each of teh girls has a fanbase and have a specific name, Mori's are called deadbeats(symbolizing her being a raper) and Gura's are called shrimps, not only for the obvious reasons but a use of the word simp but not being insulting. For example in the japanese side theres also that, Suisei's are called hoshiyomis and Sora's being called Soratomo, its a very unique interesting thing.
I guess in a sense your journey in to a different community shows how the world is a vast place and that many communities has amazing technical achievements of their own. That there is much to discover in many different places. Sadly we'll never have the time for all of it, but I guess at least we won't have to be bored.
For my recommendation, *Hololive talents actually have done a bunch of covers for "King".* In the Hatsune Miku video, I left a comment with the RUclips links to their official videos. *It's 13 covers in total from japanese, indonesian and english speaking vtubers from Hololive.*
Great song and a few recommendations as well "Reflect" by Gawr Gura "End of a Life" by Calliope Mori "Hinotori" by Takanashi Kiara "Palette" by Tokoyami Towa And the most well known song: "Shiny Smiley Story" just to increase the speed of falling in the rabbit hole
Oh yeah that King cover these two did. It's great, especially because of how much they sound like they're _having fun._ Also, their cover of it has some added lyrics that are not in the original. Someone in the comments of that one made a joke of song: *has empty space* Calli: "It's free real estate" *starts rapping*

Great video. You should turn on english subtitles on these videos because they *always* have them!.
For Gura G-A-W-R or Goomba
Yes Callie's Deadbeat as we are called and Goombas shrimps
Speaking of Vtubers, an anime is being made, and the trailer is already out. Yes, Calliope and Gura will be actual anime characters soon.
The crazy part is Gura is not a Japanese speaker, but she's rapidly improving and her intonation is excellent.
I think you'll enjoy the mix and style of Gawr Gura's song "Reflect". Her first original and the MV is amazing with its art!
I second this!
just make sure to have captions on for translation
The instrumental for this one is legit insane
She sings it in 3 different languages so subs are a definite must
Yes!
Reflect? Okay! Can't wait to hear it and thank you for the info ❤️
@@GOTGames it's in Japanese so don't forget to put on the captions
@@Ichigoeki Fully, Gura calls them her Membershrimps IIRC.
@@silentfox-thewhitechaos8279 they are the membership subs, we are all Chum Buds though
Good call on High Tide! I hadn't seen Moona sing until Holo Fes and damn was it awesome.
Yes Moona High tide is awesome
Yea high tide is absolute fire!
and risu's alice &u
@@world4saker Mostly trying to ease him in with stuff closer to his tastes right now, but Alice&U is definitely a must listen. One of my top picks for sure.
Gura is actually the most subscribed to vtuber with over 4 million subscribers. Her popularity skyrocketed right after her debut stream due to the way she opened it.
a
Pretty sure it about 5 million now.
@@ShapeshifterOS no, it’s only 4.2 million
a
Actually she also blew up because her previous channel had over a million subs and many already knew who she was from day 1 but decided to keep it on the down low for Gura's sake.
All of the Girls are worth viewing their music at least once or if you want the full Picture look at the tracks as a Group: Myth or Treat, Journey like a Thousand Years, and the newest song Non-Fiction. it really shows off the group as a whole as singers.
the way i think of it is that a group of chumbuds are called shrimps
Don't forget Country Roads
Thank you so much! I want to make sure I check them all out definitely!
And thank you for explaining the fan names too ❤️
@@cartmantke Everybody, including those involved in Country Roads, would very much appreciate it if we all did forget Country Roads.
Pronunciation for Gura: "Gar Goora"
Q is definitely an incredible song, and Gura REALLY sells it with her sort of bratty (a.k.a.
Also, if you want more from Gura definitely check out her first original song, Reflect. It's SO good!
Thanks for the enthusiastic reaction, love your VTuber reacts. My recommendations:
"Reflect" by Gawr Gura
"End of a Life" by Calliope Mori
"Violet" by Ninomae Ina'nis
"Hinotori" by Takanashi Kiara
"Palette" by Tokoyami Towa
"High Tide" by Moona Hoshinova
"Alice&u" by Ayunda Risu
There are many, many, MANY, more amazing original tracks and covers at Hololive, but this is a good start, none of these songs are what you would expect and I guarantee you will have your socks blown off in surprise.
I would recommend also taking a look at some of Callis others solo-music, most notably: RED, The Reaper Is A Livestreamer and End of A Life, each which has its own unique vibe and attitude but each uniquily brilliant.
Off With Their Heads is pretty amazing too.
@@ShapeshifterOS Yeah, but he has already done that one :P
Gawr Gura is also a English vtuber that debuted with Calli and 3 other girls. Gawr Gura became the fastest growing vtuber by being the first vtuber to reach 1 million subscribers and in only 1 month. Now in 2 years she has 4 million subscribers.
Though she is no longer the fastest vtuber to reach 1 million as that now belongs to Hyakumantenbara Salome from Nijisanji getting there in just 13 days and a few hours.
@@Blackout_ all on a meme.
@@casteanpreswyn7528 what meme?
Ironmouse is an amazing singer actually, she goes into life a classical opera singer voice and is beautiful
Most of her stuff is not "official" unfortunately
Calli and Gura's King cover is a great one. Lots of people saying Reflect, which is another good song. Tokoyami Towa's "Palette" or her cover of "Error" are also great options! There's a whole lot of options and I'm sure you'll get through many of them. Outside of Hololive, Ironmouse has a fantastic voice and hearing someone react to it for the first time is always a treat.
I think that Ayunda Risu has the best cover of King but honestly all of them are great!
if it hasnt been said before already:
"Reflect" by gawr gura
just please please make sure to turn on the subtitles
Fun fact: Gura doesn’t speak Japanese, but her pronunciation is damn near perfect.
Also at 3:40 u are right, the Skeletons are Calli’s fans(Deadbeats) cuz she’s a Grim Reaper and Gura’s Shrimps(Cuz she’s a shark)
Also Gawr Gura…Gawr is like how u would say the word Gore
@@vegetarex155 With all that knowledge it's easy to see how deep you are into the rabbit hole. A true apostle x)
Regarding the pronunciation: "Gore" but with the vowel sound of the "a" from "father" (or from her debut xD) instead of the one from "law". She actually pronounces her name in the very beginning of the song at 1:48 herself ^^
@@Sutherus i have fallen deep brother, there is no way out
Also srry but yeah what this person says, i just said “gore” but didnt exactly explain much beside it
Gawr Gura is the biggest vtuber in terms of subscribers, at over 4 million. Also, even though she sings entirely in Japanese in this song, Gura actually streams in English, part of Mori Calliope's subgroup in Hololive EN - Myth.
This is a great song and I would recommend King by both Calli and Gura
And Ironmouse's King!
@@nr_zalathiel
Everyone's KING covers, all at the same time!
The best way to truly hear what Gura can do with her voice is through her karaokes
The "minions" are supposed to be their fans, skulls for Calliope (grim reaper) and shrimps for Gura (shark)
Gura and calli's cover of "KING" is my favorite version of that song. It's so obvious that they had a blast recording it.
That Rap Part Calli Just spits Out in between the actual Verses is FIRE man
5:57 Yeah Gura is 141cm tall or 4'7" for those who don't know metric.
For more in your Hololive rabbit hole - Moona Hoshinova - High Tide. As well as 'End of a Life' and 'Red' by Calli.
I think Ahoy! or Unison are better introductions to Marine. I'm your treasure box is a bit... intense.
I cant wait if he actually react to it
That would be quite the whiplash. No one simply watches the captain unprepared
LOL is he really ready for Senchou? Expecially "I'm your treasure box"
You definitely need to check out Calli and Gura's King Cover but also Calli's End of a Life. It's her story of how she got where she is.
Yesss!
Bone Bros ftw!
Love Calli x Gura collabs, they're always adorkable and fun.
Their voices mix so well together too~
You should see Gawr Gura song reflect or her short animation.
But to say her name can be pronounced as Gawr ("g-arr" in english or "g-ow" in JP) Gura (you pronounced it correctly!)
Both Calli and Gura are part of the first EN branch [HoloMyth] of Hololive together.
This song was an inspiration for the Holocure video game, the artist for that video worked on the game.
Fun little factoid about Gura, she's a little Metal-Head herself! During some of her Karaoke streams, she's actually covered Sabaton!
Glad to see you liking this. I’ve always loved this one. You should also have a look at their King cover
Mori has a song called Excuse my rudeness but can you please RIP that you NEED to see
You gotta check out Gura's "reflect" it's a banger
If you react to Gawr Gura's "Reflect" make sure it has the translated lyrics on the video or in the CC. Makes it much more enjoyable imho
Definitely check out Ironmouse!! Her cover of Getcha, King, and her opera singing “When I Look at You”.
oh my god i love your reaction i am so happy for how much you like them that i got tears in my eyes watching you see these and just geniuenly being super happy about it. its so great :D
Listen to "Reflect" by Gura. It's a very different but amazingly quality song. The MV is really good as well.
Since you are about to dive into the Japanese music industry here's a list of most iconic Japanese songs that everybody knows about you might wanna check out:
1. Zenbousakura - Hatsune Miku
2. God knows... - Suzumiya Haruhi
3. Re:Re - Asian Kung Fu Generation
4. Plastic Love - Mariya Takeuchi
5. No Title - Reol
I love your reactions! you heard Calli, Suisei and Gura sings but you havent heard Moona before she's an amazing singer from Hololive Indonesia, I recommend her two origial songs "Ai no Chiisana Uta" and "Hightide".
If you like Gura you should check out her song 'Reflect'!
That's why the animation is so clean in this one.
the person who animated this MV also made a popular fanmade hololive game called holocure even people that have no idea about hololive or vtubers enjoy playing it
would love to see you react to Gawr Gura's original song "Reflect" its my favorite hololive song
also it haves english subtitles so remember to turn those on
Check out The King collab and the solo Gura song called "Reflect"
I've been sitting here waiting patiently for some more hololive so I was happy to see this upload
Basically a growling sound
PS: since you're fully in the rabbit hole now, someone actually made a mini anime of Hololive Myth.... like a full-on anime mini story. Although disclaimer--it's not quite finished yet. So it's up to you if you wanna wait till the final part is finished next month or so.
It's called "Holomyth vs Ina"
(Warning: it's f-king spicy)
Calli's debut song "Excuse me but could you please RIP?" is also a must watch
You seem to like Gawr Gura a lot 😂 I’d recommend “Reflect” by her. Definitely one of her best songs.
Oh, you gotta check out their KING cover
God yes, you gotta react to their cover of “King.” The song is good overall and has been covered a million times by multiple people but Calli and Gura’s cover of the song is by far my absolute favorite.
You should react to some of Gura’s karaoke covers and her song reflect, she’s an amazing singer
Fun fact, the animator of this also made the fan game HoloCure, which includes a reference to this.
Calli and Gura's cover of king is actually really great
The animation for this MV was actually done by a guy who made a serious Hololive game. A vampire survivor type game starring the English girls and some of the Japanese girls he just recently added in an update.
Ah finally on to Gura content, welcome to the rabbit hole. Hope you enjoy your stay
Edit: Gura just recently did a live 3D concert that you'd probably enjoy
Calli & Gura recently released a song with the rest of their Gen-Mates; HoloMyth, called Non-Fiction, breaking 1M views in just a few days.
If you want to see more of them together, I'd recommend two songs performed by their whole Generation (the 5 girls who started their VTuber career together) - "Myth or Treat" and "Non-Fiction"
Those two are both written by Calli and show two extremes of her writing: "Myth or Treat" was a silly little treat released for Halloween last year.
Should watch their other collab song KING !
Im sure others will say the same, but; If you're going to dip into Gura next, you've got to give Reflect a shot. Excellent piece.
Next I'll see you reacting to clips and then I'll know there's no turning back xD
A lot of other commentors already addressed it, but if you see this:
Gawr Gura pronounced like G-aw-r (close to a growl) or G-ow (Japanese onomotopoeia for growling).
6:38
Coincidentally the line “Do natten no yo” in the chorus of the song translates to “what is going on”
I swear it's like every new reaction upload is taken from my watch history. There isn't a reaction from this channel I haven't enjoyed recently
Examples in HL alone in which their current lore developed out of the interaction between streamer and chat:
Nene Momosuzu: she's now OUR wife, and also a seal (because her laugh sounds like a seal's)
Subaru Oozora: she's now a duck.
Ironmouse is freaking great, very inspiring person, check out her backstory if you do!!
Myth or treat is the real sht. It also fits the season
Gawr Gura's Reflect *WITH SUBTITLES ON* is an awesome musical experience.
I highly recommend it.
I guess in a sense your journey in to a different community shows how the world is a vast place and that many communities has amazing technical achievements of their own. That there is much to discover in many different places. Sadly we'll never have the time for all of it, but I guess at least we won't have to be bored.
Please watch Gwar Gura's "Reflect" music video.
For my recommendation, *Hololive talents actually have done a bunch of covers for "King".*
In the Hatsune Miku video, I left a comment with the RUclips links to their official videos. *It's 13 covers in total from japanese, indonesian and english speaking vtubers from Hololive.*
Great song and a few recommendations as well
"Reflect" by Gawr Gura
"End of a Life" by Calliope Mori
"Hinotori" by Takanashi Kiara
"Palette" by Tokoyami Towa
And the most well known song:
"Shiny Smiley Story"
just to increase the speed of falling in the rabbit hole
Oh yeah that King cover these two did. It's great, especially because of how much they sound like they're _having fun._
Also, their cover of it has some added lyrics that are not in the original. Someone in the comments of that one made a joke of
song: *has empty space*
Calli: "It's free real estate" *starts rapping*
I would highly recommend checking out Amane Kanata’s cover of “The narrow way” when you get time. Her range is out of this world
I am so glad if found you man, best reaction channel ever you are amazing, also loved the attack on titan reaction series
