A biopic should tell the truth - good, bad, and ugly. Not what you want to see. Michael was a flawed human just like everyone. And a biopic should be honest about that. I wouldn't want anything otherwise. I'm old enough to know for a fact that Michael was not perfect by any means.

This has ALWAYS been a moment I wish we knew more about the success of Thriller and what that did to MJ and the rest of his family. I know in the American Dream, his mother convinced him to do it. Sad...because apparently the tour was a mess, him NOT doing a Thriller tour and focusing more on the family music is one reason some believe Prince's Purple Rain (which I LOVE) did as well as it did at the next Grammy awards. I actually binged a good amount of your older parody videos, but this serious one really hit me in the gut with the drama and how WELL PUT TOGETHER this was...fantastic!

Like there's loads of look-a-likes, who look good (you're one of them), there's lots of good singers and dancers (you're also one of them), but I've never seen someone catch the raw energy like Michael except for you. Over the years I hav seen alot of MJ impersonators(even before Mike died). Sum get the moves down and the singing. Even get his outfits/loocs down. But that's as far as it goes. I hav yet to see one who truly captured the essence of Michael. His meek mannerisms, even his voice and how he handled his father after a certain point. This was so good! It was no secret that Mike had a strained relationship with Poppa Joe. He always used his mother as a guilt trip to manipulate him into performing with his brothers & he really hated that he wanted to spread out his wings on his own. Joe always saw The Jacksons as a forever thing & felt like it was taken away when Michael decided to go solo. He was the Beyoncé of the group & he banked on that. Yeah, everyone had their favorite member, but EVERYONE loved Michael.
I wish people knew the true story behind this. I feel like the whole story has never been told. First of all, when they started at Epic that was a part of the deal. It was always apart of the deal that the Jacksons would record solo albums and then come back together and do group albums - they would alternate between their solo projects and group albums. I don't know why this doesn't get talked about more. It wasn't like Off the Wall was Michael's first solo album either. Jackie had a solo album as well. Yet, they didn't push Jackie's solo album much. I feel like they always play it out like Michael was the only one doing things and that's not the truth. All the brothers were doing solo stuff too. What really changed everything was Michael meeting Quincy. The other brothers never had a Quincy Jones as a producer. As talented as Michael was....he still needed a super producer to catapult his career. No one had an issue with Michael doing solo albums (because that was always the deal). The issue was when Michael backed out of wanting to continue the group albums. No one saw the success of Thriller coming. Once Thriller became huge he didn't see the need to work with his brothers anymore... so he wanted to back out of that deal. I think this is important to know. I feel like the brothers always get looked at as nobodies and just leeches....and the truth is far more complex.

I hav yet to see one who truly captured the essence of Michael. His meek mannerisms, even his voice and how he handled his father after a certain point. This was so good! It was no secret that Mike had a strained relationship with Poppa Joe. He always used his mother as a guilt trip to manipulate him into performing with his brothers & he really hated that he wanted to spread out his wings on his own.
Joe always saw The Jacksons as a forever thing & felt like it was taken away when Michael decided to go solo. He was the Beyoncé of the group & he banked on that.
Yeah, everyone had their favorite member, but EVERYONE loved Michael.
I wish people knew the true story behind this. I feel like the whole story has never been told. First of all, when they started at Epic that was a part of the deal. It was always apart of the deal that the Jacksons would record solo albums and then come back together and do group albums - they would alternate between their solo projects and group albums. I don't know why this doesn't get talked about more. It wasn't like Off the Wall was Michael's first solo album either. Jackie had a solo album as well. Yet, they didn't push Jackie's solo album much. I feel like they always play it out like Michael was the only one doing things and that's not the truth.
All the brothers were doing solo stuff too. What really changed everything was Michael meeting Quincy. The other brothers never had a Quincy Jones as a producer. As talented as Michael was....he still needed a super producer to catapult his career. No one had an issue with Michael doing solo albums (because that was always the deal). The issue was when Michael backed out of wanting to continue the group albums. No one saw the success of Thriller coming. Once Thriller became huge he didn't see the need to work with his brothers anymore... so he wanted to back out of that deal. I think this is important to know. I feel like the brothers always get looked at as nobodies and just leeches....and the truth is far more complex.
